i have 3 long haired cats and of course their hair gets all over everything. when i go back to school i dont want to have cat hair all over my blankets and stuff for my dorm. what is the best way to get cat hair off blankets & bigger stuff like that? i dont want to have to use one of those roller things because i need to do it to like all my blankets and sheets and that would just be a lot
A pumice stone works pretty well on a lot of fabrics. Or you can try scrubbing it off with a damp paper towel.
i heard that the st. ives apricot scrub makes you break out and it scratches and cuts your face. is that true?
This was a long time ago, but I do remember using it a few years ago and it was very irritating to my skin, and then beads inside the cream were very abrasive.
Right now I'm using a St Ive's Apricot Scrub for sensitive skin. And I'm in love with it. It's not abrasive whatsoever, doesn't irritate my skin, in fact it makes moisturized and significantly softer. I also use it on my lips and instantly get moisturized smooth lips.
I couldn't be happier with the product. I've only used it for a week, and it does cause some breakage at first because its bringing all the dirt to the surface of the skin causing you to break out, but this shouldn't last long, the breakout isn't too bad, and mine is already clearing up. Once sll the initial dirt is gone and you continue exfoliating your skin, you shouldn't break out any more.

hi. so this my be a weird question. but hey, this is what this site is for right?
well i hate hair (besides on my head).
well i was wondering if girls (but mainly guys) thinks its weird to shave my arms
i have before, but my step sister thought it was kind of weird.
well i would like opinions of this.
please and thank you.
Well I was a competitive swimmer all throughout middle school and high school, but I didn't start shaving my arms until I was about 15. I think its perfectly normal, but sometimes I wish I hadn't even started because my arms weren't too bad, but our coach made us for swimming, and now if I don't shave them its an ugly stubbly mess. So just keep that in mind, you can stop now before its too late so you don't have to keep shaving them for the rest of your life.

I was talking with a teacher of mine about genetics and she said that true African descendants always have brown eyes. I told her that I've seen many African-Americans with blue eyes though! She suggested that both of the person's parents were not black (like one was black and the other was white/caucasian) if the eyes were any other color than brown. She also said that contacts change the eye color and that may be why I've noticed "so many" dark-skinned people with light colored eyes (and, yes, I know about contacts...just saying her point).
So, is it really possible for a dark person to have blue eyes or some other light colored eyes (like green)?
One of my great friends who is african american (dark skinned) has naturally blue eyes. My other friend, who is mixed, has light brownish green eyes.
I write a column for my school paper, and I was wondering if it would be offensive to anyone if I said the Mayan calendar looks like a Monopoly board on crack. Because it does...
I personally don't find it offensive, but I'm sure some people out there will. My concern about it is how appropriate it would be to put that in the school paper. Maybe if you were writing a short story for English or something.. but not something that would be viewed by the whole school.
Of course, it's your column, and you can decide for yourself. If the whole thing is very proper and "politically correct," I would avoid putting that phrase in there, but, if you're taking the more sarcastic and humorous approach to the column, and that phrase will blend in, then go ahead.

I want to go on a picnic with my boyfriend this summer sometime. I thought he would really like it since he's working all of the time and we always do the same things over and over together. A picnic would be a big change, you know? :) Sort-of like a nice surprise as long as I can figure out how to do it all by myself!
Anyway, what would one need to bring on a picnic to make it be considered fairly good? I've never been on a picnic before really :/
I think big deli sandwiches are the way to go, but also maybe a nice seafood salad or a potato salad to go along with it. You could also bake or buy a pie for desert as a surprise or maybe even a berry cobbler (don't forget the paper plates!).
As for drinks, Izze's are really good, or you could just get sodas, water, or freshly squeezed orange juice?
But whatever you decide to bring or make, don't forget a cooler to put it in, nothing yuckier then eating soggy warm sandwiches or even worse a warm seafood salad. (which all can be purchased at your local grocery store in the deli section).

It is 68 outside and 78 in here. Yet I have all the windows open and a fan going (I have no ceiling fans though). I don't understand why it is 10 degrees different outside.
I'm in a 2 bedroom apartment, what can I do to draw cold air in? Thanks.
My house can get super hot during the summer too, however we avoid it by shutting all the windows and doors that lead to the outside, and closing the curtains and blinds. Sometimes your house can be like a greenhouse. We still use our electricals as normal, but of course we avoid vacuuming and try not to use the oven so much. Try it for a day and see if it works.
Oh and just a note, we keep our windows open during the night and through the morning before it gets hot, so our house cools off during the night as well.
Stay cool!

so i kept my dog at the vets for a day &_ they told me something was wrong with her neck.
butt that was about three days ago.
&_ now her backs completly arched to the left.
&_ she can barely holdl her self up. like her two back legs keep fallin into the splits &_ she juss drags them.
also shes like extremely jumpy. like if shes laying down then i go up to pet her she jumps.
any ideas whats wrong?
please juss be 1OO% truthful.
Most likely it is just a pulled muscle, however that doesn't mean she won't have to go to the vet. Make an appointment as soon as you can. Be prepared to spend some money. Although most pulled muscles are easy to diagnose, the vet may want to do xrays. Most likely they will prescribe something for the pain as well. Don't freak out, but be prepared for a possible expensive vet bill. Although she is obviously in pain, she is not about to die any time soon. It sounds what is bothering her isn't a disease, so it should be easier to treat, but then again you never said anything about her eating or drinking, and what kind of shape her body is in, for example swelling, lesions, etc. For exampe, it could turn out to be an abscess as well.

when a recipe calls for "wild strawberry", isn't that just a strawberry..? from the market? why add "wild"?
No, its not the same ones you get from the grocery store. They're smaller, and much sweeter, and they taste quite different as well. They're about the size of your pinky nail.
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1286/627110131_bcab17c61f.jpg?v=0
For the recipe, you can still use regular strawberries, but if you want to stay as close to the recipe as possible I would buy organic, smaller, and kind of more "squashed" looking strawberries (when they are fatter around the middle then from the green part to the tip).
But really, it doesn't really matter, unless you're making preserves, then I would avoid using regular strawberries.
hi i'm a vegitarian and i do it because i love animals, its better for the earth & your body. but i was just wondering why do people become vegan? i know alot of people who are vegan, and they are really sick now. (not saying that happens to everyone who is vegan, just some people i know.) so i was just curious, why be vegan?
Well, the vast majority of true (and I mean true, true vegans/vegetarians) are so because of medical reasons; their bodies can't process animal products, or they have a medical issue that disallows them to eat meat.
But as others have said, its because they feel bad for the animals, they want to rebel against what's normal, they support PETA (*rolls eyes*), they simply don't like the taste of animal products, and they think its healthier (although as far as I know, nothing has been proven that eating animal products is less healthy than not eating animal products).
But, if you are a vegetarian, I do suggest seeing your doctor or a nutritionist so you can lay out a diet plan so you can get all the proper nutrients your body needs (so you don't become sick, because that can happen to vegetarians as well as vegans).

im always wearing a sports bra even when im sleeping and i was wondering if it was binding down my breast from growing?
No, it won't stop your breasts from growing. The only bad thing I can think of is that it might block off blood flow to the breast depriving the tissue of much needed nutrients, but that's only if you wear a severely tight bra (and I mean the band that goes around your ribcage, not the material that is covering the breasts).
Also, I highly doubt that wearing a bra to bed prevents sagging, because the breast tissue isn't pulled down by gravity (unless you sleep vertically of course), and that's just a random thought I'm putting out there because I saw someone mention it below.
But if you are concerned about your breast size there is always the option of wearing a push bra (the Victoria's Secret bras work really well and are quite comfortable).

Ok, my name is Jessica, and I want a new nickname, but it's not very easy for that name! I don't want Jess or Jessie, I want something really original. My middle name is Murphy, but I don't know if that would be a cool name to be called or if it sounds too tom boy-ish. I just don't like my name being so common. Thanks so much you guys!!!
Casey?
i want a puppy.
and im not allowed to get a inside dog what so ever.
but i want something that will stay small, not get too big.
small enough that i can pick it up and hold it.
my boyfriends getting it for me for christmas.
and im helping to pay on it.
give me a list of different types of dogs
First of all, owning a dog (or any animal) is a huge responsibility. Its sort of like having kids. Some questions to ask yourself are:
Can I afford to get my dog fixed?
Can I afford vet bills if my dog gets sick?
Can I afford the normal vet bills (such as vaccines, nail trims, dentals)?
Can I afford the food?
Will I have time to take my dog out on walks at least 2 times a week?
Will I be willing to clean up stinky poops in the backyard?
Will I be able to dedicate the time to house train the dog?
Or.. if it will be living outside do I have the accommodations for it so it won't get too hot or too cold depending on weather?
Is my property dog-proofed (no poisonous plants, no wholes in the fence, etc)
Will my dog receive care and affection from me or others every day?
Do the other members of the household approve of a dog.
Getting a pure bred dog from a breeder can be expensive. I would highly suggest adopting from a local animal shelter, or looking on craigslist (you'll be amazed how many people are giving away their animals, just make sure you see the animal first and get it checked by a vet before you adopt it).
As for different type of breeds, you really shouldn't chose a dog by its breed, but by its personality and health.

Now, I've never had any beer before, not even a sip -- but I've smelled it, and from what I've smelled I don't think it would taste very good. So I've been wondering lately, why do most people drink beer? Because they like the taste, because they like the effect it has on them, or because they want to fit in? Why do you personally drink beer (or any other alcoholic beverage, really)?
Thanks.
I think it depends on what age group you look at.
For example, my parents like beer and other beverages because of its taste and because they appreciate it.
People my age (teenagers) like beer and other beverages because of the effects.
I personally have never been drunk in my life, but I do enjoy the occasional glass of wine or or a shot of good brandy because I enjoy the taste of it. My goal is not to get drunk, but really to taste and appreciate the labor of love. Because really, a true alcoholic beverage is a labor of love that needs to be drunk tastefully, respectfully, and appreciatively. Honestly, I think that if someone gets drunk, its really an insult to that beverage and a big sign of low class.
I am obviously from a family that is full of alcoholic beverage lovers. I have never seen any of my family drunk by the way.
I guess it really just depends on how you were raised: you can either appreciate it or abuse it. I chose to appreciate it because alcohol is a huge part of my culture (I'm Russian). When I go back to visit, alcohol is offered to you everywhere and if I were to abuse it, I would have long ago lost the respect people had for me. And I would also lose the respect I had for myself.

people tell me horses shouldnt be turned out in a pasture in the snow because they could run and slip and fall and break a bone. But I see on magaize covers, articles, that horses are out in the snow, some even live outside in the winter, that's why alot of horses need blankets..soo..whats the problem with letting your horse outside in the snow?
Well its true that they can slip and fall and injure themselves. But its also true that they can colic from eating snow/drinking ice cold water (because its so cold, it kills the bacteria in the horses stomach and can cause them to colic). You also need to make sure that the water doesn't freeze over so that your horse can drink. You also need to provide your horse with a very warm blanket so it won't freeze.
I think if you are careful and knowledgeable about it, it should be fine. Obviously, you wouldn't want to turn out your horse if the ground is slippery or icy.

лу́чший, лу́чше
What language is this and what does it mean?
This is Russian, it means 'the best', 'better.'
There is also no ' on top of the third letter.
(I'm fluent by the way so trust me on this =)

I made a mistake and started smoking just before I turned 14...but I gave up after about 7 months of smoking. Stupid I know, but I gave up :]
Now I'm constantly thinking about it and I tend to miss it.
What are some things or whatever I could do to stop thinking about it.
I'm not going to start again, I don't want to...but I need to stop thinking about it and I don't want to miss it.

Please no lecturing on how bad it is for you. I know, I made a mistake. Also thinking ''It's bad for you'' doesn't stop me from missing it.
So yeah.
Sorry if this is confusing.
One word. Gobstoppers.
Whenever you feel a need for a cig, have a gobstopper.
i've gotten to become a little bit ocd lately. i have lost a lot of weight and recently reduced my calorie intake to 1000 calories per day. if i go past that, i get frenetic. even if its like 1025, i will start crying.i know it's not a good thing, but i can't help it. it's just how i feel. but, i also work out six times a week. for three days out of the week i do spinning, and the other three i just work out at the gym for two hours.
for this past week, i had a little trouble going to the bathroom. and it's been driving me crazy!! my stomach really hurts. today, i went a little bit, but it's just that i'm going crazy with this. this week, i got a cold. my throat has been killing me. so, i'm trying to take care of both of these things at once. today, i took a break from the gym because my throat was killing me and i ate a little bit of pasta, because they told me that vitamin c and carbs will help me get better a little bit. and, since i'm sick i figured what the hell? u lose weight when your sick anyway, so i might as well have a little bit of something i enjoy.... but i feel sooooooooo bad about it. it's not even normal. it's like i can't eat a piece of cake or i'll start crying! i count all my calories during the day... each and every little thing... even fruits and vegetables....
i feel pretty terrible with my throat that i cant really handle going to the gym today. its like my throat and my ears are stinging... but yet i feel sooo bad because i feel all swollen because of the bathroom issue...
is there anything anyone can tell me that will make me feel better?
Well, I think you know what you need to do. Logically, you can't be very healthy for long if you are only consuming 1000 calories a day. What I would do is schedule an appointment with a doctor to talk about your throat and your stomach issues. LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU'RE ONLY GETTING 1000 CALORIES A DAY. Because if you don't, they might prescribe you something that your body can't handle because you have weakened yourself, and you may become even more ill.
Really the only people who can help you are professionals in the medical field. The people whom you're asking here on this website can't help you (except direct you in the right direction) because the situation is out of their hands and expertise.

i just read the kite runner, and i've never cried so much for a book or a movie. i want to watch the movie for it cause i hear it's good, but it got 67% on rottentomatoes.com. would you recommend it?
i hate reading books then watching the movies because, for example, when i read to kill a mockingbird, the director of the movie, imo, did a HORRIBLE job. things happened in the movie that were not explained at ALL! (e.g., when boo's brother cemented the hole in the tree). so i'd appreciate it if you could be honest! i'll rate you based on honesty & reasoningg
Well, I read the book first, which I thought was absolutely amazing. The movie however, was horrible. I didn't even finish watching it. I thought the actors were bad, and I imagined the characters to look completely different. Some of them looked the complete opposite of what the book described. The movie wasn't very deep, but that could be because they left a lot of parts out (which of course is unavoidable, but if you're going to leave parts out, do it well so it doesn't seem clunky).
I wouldn't recommend it. If you're curious though, go ahead, but don't get your hopes up.

Me and this guy who have been hooking up for a while had dry sex last night. I was in my underwear (lace thong), and he was in some briefs. He mighttt not have bee wearing it he might have taken it off by then (I later gave him a handjob, but nothing farther).
MYY underwear never came off, but I have this huge fear of getting an STD, so is there any possibility I could've gotten one if he had one? I don't think he has one, but what if he did? That would suckk...
Also you cant get an STD through a hj right?
PS theres NO chance of me getting pregnant. I'm also on the pill.
If there was an exchange of bodily fluids (i.e. his pre-ejaculate or semen absorb into your underwear and travel up to your vagina), then you are definately at risk. Even if you don't show symptoms, that does not mean a thing. I would schedule an appointment with a lady doctor to get tested for any STD's so you can start treatment asap if it turns out you're positive for a disease.
