okay, so i REALLY like this guy.. and he says he likes me.. and we are liked "together" but not going out.. like we are basically dating.. but we have a commitment like we cant date other people. and he comes to my house every friday and he like kisses me and holds my hand and stuff.. but he will hardly ever hug me at school.. is he just playing a gam? I'm a Junior (16) and male. Never had a girlfriend; i'm the outspoken-nerd stereotype. Somehow everybody thinks I have a social life, don't know where they got that idea.
Anyway, there's this girl (we'll call her Kylie). She's heavily into music theatre (as am I), and we're both pretty good, so that's plenty of starting ground. To say I have feelings for her would be an understatement. At this point, I get lost. I don't know where to go from here because I've never had a girlfriend before and don't really know exactly what the procedure is (if there even is one). I've (perhaps unwisely) tried to keep my distance while remaining friendly as I've had too many experience getting on the "friends" list for life. In addition, I am really (really) scared of hurting her. She means the world to me, and I don't use that phrase lightly. A positive comment can literally make my day.
Anyway, I guess I need to know what to do from here. Some specific examples would be nice... what has worked for you. Keep in mind that I'm not at all the agressive type. It would be best for any action on my part to be able to be interpereted several different ways, that way if I determine no interest I can feign some other excuse. Basically, anything that reveals my feelings without really revealing my feelings (as stupid as that sounds). Should I just become her friend and hope I don't get shoved in the friends abiss? I also want to go slowly. Very, very slowly, because I am about scared half to death here. Help me out!

I've been with my girlfriend for over 18 months. I'm 19 and female and i just transfered schools. She's 18 and is just going in to college. We're only going to be about an hour apart, but for some reason she thinks she's going to get her heart broken. I keep telling her that we will have to work together to make it work, but for some reason she doesn't think so. Is it possible that she wants out? ok my girlfriend has a abusive dad. hes always drunk and beating her. yesturday when i was visiting my girl, he was beating her up, i just got really mad. i couldnt control my self and i pushed him away. and i guess he was drunk and i was really angry he would beat up katy like that, but i beat him up pretty bad. am i right? i think you were right but you cant keep on protecting her he will always beat her so you need to go to the cops immediately or it might be too late one day

Darrel, this guy I like, likes me back. Except...he's black, and I'm white. And my mom has already told me that she wouldn't support me if I were to date a black guy. Not because she's racist, but because of the "problems" it causes, and everyone will look at you differently. But she isn't going to forbid me from doing it, because she knows that I have to do what's right for me, not for her. And anyway, I think that the things that go along with dating a black person kind of are problems - other black guys will look at you and think, oh, she's into black guys, and other white people will look at you differently, and if they don't know Darrel they won't know what a sweet, funny, smart guy he is, and how he wouldn't ever get mixed up in the wrong crowd. But I think I might really like him. And it's wrong not to date someone just because they're black - that's racism! I guess what I'm trying to say is, I need some comfort and someone telling me what the right thing to do is, lol! Sorry about the long story, but I rate! (Oh, and I'm 14/f, by the way.) (link)

Hi you guys... i don't really know where to start. i'm head over heels for one of my best friends (my best guy friend). and i don't know what to do. sometimes, when we're talking and it's late at night, i come so close to telling him, just because i'd like to know if i have a chance. but then part of me is afraid. he has a girlfriend at the moment, and i don't want to ruin anything between them. i found out a few days ago that he used to think we had the potential to be soulmates, that's definitely how i feel. and have felt. i just don't know if he still feels like that and i'm really afraid to ask. so, all wise advice givers, what do i do?
