I am 15 years old, and my boyfriend and i had oral sex. i got some of the semen on my hand and i didn't wash my hand and we continued to hang out. he fingered me earlier that day but as we continued out hang out after i gave him head i could feel myself bleeding. i wondered if mhe popped my cherry so i went to the upstairs bathroom, stuck my fingers in and out to see if they were bloody.. i then realized what i had done. I forgot how much sperm i got on my hand and I heard that sperm can stay alive from 30 minutes to 5 5hours even if dried up. my boyfriend flipped out and he wants me to take Plan B. What are the side effects of Plan B? Could it kill me? i'm only fifteen years old and i've only ever gotten my period twice in my life. Once for a whole week jan 09 & another time a whole year later in jan 10! my mom told me that she was irregular when she was younger but that didnt mean that she would have trouble having children. she said that she had no problem getting pregnant which should mean that i;m the same way/: if i take the pill tomorrow in the a.m. should i be ok? could it kill me? could the pill hurt me in any way? answer asap please, thank you (link)

Typical side effects of Plan B (if they don't go away after 1 to 2 days, you should seek medical care):
- Nausean
- Abdominal pain
- Fatigue
- Headaches
- A heavier menstrual period
- A lighter menstrual period
- Dizziness
- Breast tenderness
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Fluid retention
- Irregular bleeding
Serious effects of taking the Plan B:
- Vomiting within one hour of taking a Plan B tablet (you may have vomited up the tablet)
- Signs of an ectopic pregnancy (a "tubal" pregnancy), such as severe abdominal pain (stomach pain)
- Signs of an allergic reaction, including an unexplained rash, hives, itching, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
Other things to look out for (seek immediate medical assistance if you experience any of the following):
Abdominal pains (severe)
Chest pain or shortness of breath
Headaches (severe)
Eye problems, such as blurred vision
Severe leg or arm pain or numbness

And, yes, unfortunately, there are cases where the morning after pill was responsible for the death of the mother-to-be, the most famous being a young girl named Holly Patterson. Most of the death cases are from women taking the abortion pill though, but the morning after pill can cause things like life-threatening blood clots (however, so can birth control pills):

"Since serious side effects don't always immediately manifest themselves after taking pharmaceutical drugs, a high-dosage chemical drug like the MAP should not be used. In other words, just because women don't immediately die after taking the MAP doesn't validate the claim that the MAP is safe. It is not known whether the large amounts of chemicals in the MAP cause permanent damage to a woman's fertility or cause certain diseases such as cancer to develop over time. Even though the MAP cannot abort a baby that has already been implanted in the uterus, the effect of the MAP's dangerously large dosage of hormones on that baby are not yet known. The over-the-counter status of Plan B, a popular 'emergency contraceptive' pill, communicates the false impression to women that the pill is safe to use, even on a regular basis, as if it were as harmless as cough medicine. The fact is, to date, there is no scientific study proving the maximum safe dosage for levornorgestrel, the active chemical in Plan B."
Once sperm has dried, it typically is no longer alive. There is an old myth that if you moisten dried sperm then it will come back to life. That isn't how things work though. The sperm are alive in the ejaculatory fluid, but once it has completely dried then they can no longer function.
If the sperm was completely dry then it was completely dead.
If your hands were moistened from the ejaculatory fluids then you could have shoved a few live sperm into your vagina. It does only take one sperm to get you pregnant.
It's your choice if you think you're at such a high risk that you'd like to take Plan B. You're at a lower risk at becoming pregnant since the ejaculation didn't occur within you; but, you are still at a risk of pregnancy if you inserted spermy fingers into you. The risk is lower, but it's still there then. It's up to you if you want to take the Plan B anyway.
For note, you need to see your doctor about your irregular periods. I know you probably don't want to, but it's gone on far too long. Being THIS irregular usually means that there is something wrong, and if you haven't been checked out by a doctor then your case may be entirely different from your mother's, unfortunately. The period should regular within one year and it's not even been close to regular for you so you definitely need to get checked out.
