about

Hi, I'm Emily. Call me Emily or Em, I prefer either. I have been a featured columnist 2 times now. After disabling my account I had about 3 years ago, a lot has happened which made me want to come back. I feel as though helping people with their problems, helps me solve mine, even if that doesn't make a lot of sense to any of you. Don't hesitate to ask me anything, I will answer fairly quickly depending on the question. If you want a hard-thought out answer, which is what I usually give, it may take a little longer- it benefits everyone in the long run.

So I'm 15/f and my skin has been a little rough lately. I've always had very clear, soft skin. I use no makeup except concealer under my eyes. (I have dark circles) But lately, this school year, my skin has been getting weird for me. On my cheeks, I've been getting pimples and in between my eyebrows too. I don't have acne...not at all really, but I used to have such great skin and now it's getting worse. I use Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleanser at night, and in the morning I just wash with water. I use Fresh Soy Face Cream after I clean my face, but it gets me so aggravated! I want my soft, clear skin back. I'm a tan person. In the summer, my hair and skin thrives and everything is great. But, I'm in New york and it's a long, rough winter. My skin is dry and I rarely get any sun at all (I don't fake tan)..and I know it's not enough. I take fish oil vitamins and I eat healthy and exercise. But what is the issue here! I keep breaking out every week..if it's not one thing it's another. I don't know if I should try Proactiv, SkiniD, etc. because I'm guessing it's for people who have chronic acne. I know mine just might be the lack of sun and the winter conditions, but maybe using something for acne might make my skin almost flawless? If it's for serious cases wouldn't it make very mild cases much better? I'm really not sure..helllp! My skin is so important to me, and I'm completely dedicated to making it clear and healthy.

P.S. any natural remedies would be great!

usually, stress brings acne, usually easily curable acne, so don't fret that your acne wont go away, because it will.

try not combining all those products. use the same one in the morning and afternoon. that can really wear your skin down and make it unhealthy. so many chemicals mixing with each other.

fishoil vitamins work wonders. i take them too. they take awhile to see results, usuallly a whole bottle of them. taking the fishoil improves the quality of your hair and skin as well.
