Ok i wan to hook a car radio up in my bedroom so i can get amp on my subs and stuff. so how would i do that and is there a webdite i can use? or tell me specifict details.
Well, it's pretty simple if you plan on using a car battery or a 12 volt DC system (DC stands for direct current).
If you try and use house hold current, 120 volts, AC (alternating current) then it wont work.
For one the Ohms (resistance) for a car stereo is different than that of a home's stereo, usually rated at 8 ohms for a home stereo.
It can be done if you have a power converter, that changes AC to DC. Assuming you are using all the same rated Ohm speakers, if not you risk fire or damage. I don't have a website but try Google'n AC to DC power converter.
Just remember, whatever the equipment worked in the car, right down to the speakers themselves, have to be hooked up to that exact power source that came with the car for it to work properly.
Oh, don't forget the fuses either! Fuse all power leads. That way, if you make a mistake you wont ruin your equipment or cause a fire. I recommend at least 10amp fuses or lower. You can go to any auto parts store and ask for the fuses and fuse holders. If they ask what gauge wire, take a sample of what you are working with. Obviously, read the owner's manual for proper gauge wire for the amplifier and the car stereo.
The fuse holder will looking something like these, one is a BUS type and the other is a dual prong, either one will work with the correct fuse inside:

I only know what you are talking about because I've done this before using a 12V car battery many moons ago as a teenager.
