Q: Usually its easy for me to chose out gifts. but right now im panicking. i need to buy a birthday gift for my mother-in-law, and i have no clue! and my fiance is USELESS!!! shes 44, middle eastern, and doesn't like to be considered old. i honestly don't know that much about her..please dont give general answers like get her jewelry or perfume. please give me something specific to work with. thaaanks a bunch! :)

I'm middle eastern as well, and I know one gift that my mom gives/receives all the time: crystal bowls or crystal vases. I don't know; it's something I notice she gets a lot of. Middle Eastern women generally like to decorate their homes with nice things like that. One reason is that we ALWAYS have things out for the guests- so a crystal bowl to put candies or nuts in will always be useful. I notice that my aunts also get things like that for friends/family.
