Q: okay well I'm pretty good in volleyball. the best thing I could do is pass; I'm a really good passer and can play best in the back row. well I tried out and DIDNT make it only because I didn't have a serve! the coach said that anyone who doesn't have a serve doesn't make the team, so I didn't make it. he said I would definitely make it next year if I have a serve, but the problem is that I can't serve ANYTHING! I cant do overhand, roundhouse, or even underhand! I can kind of do underhand but the problem is that it never goes over the net and I throw it up when I serve it. same with overhand and roundhouse! I can hit it but they never go over the net? can someone tell me the right ways to serve underhand, roundhouse, and most definitely overhand?(I need a overhand to make the team as well as underhand) thank you sooooo much!

I had the exact problem 1 year ago. I know how frustraiting it can be!! Trust me!! Well serving underhand isn't all hard.. if you are right handed hold the ball about at your hip level and in your left hand, but in front of your right hip. opposite if you are left handed
then put your right hand into a fist and make contact with the volleyball on the bottom. Make sure that you dont throw the ball up in the air before you serve it!!!
Serving overhand can be really really tricky. So lets say that you are right handed. Hold the ball arms length infront of your right shouler, but hold it with your left hand. Keep your right arm up with your elbow above your head. Throw the ball in front of your right sholder approx. 3 feet in the air. then contact it in the middle of the ball and follow through..
opposite if you are left handed
sorry if this sounds confusing,,,
but remember that practice makes perfect!!

WHY I'VE BEEN GONE:
First off, I just wanted to say SORRY-that i havent been on at all-!!
So HUGE news. I moved! so thats my excuse why i havent been on here. Its been a rough summer, getting use to everything. But i think im back. I know i wont be on as much, but ill try to come on as often as i can.
Also, since this is my senior year, and things are CRAZY!! I probably wont be on nearly as much, but ill try! =]
