I live in Harvey, Louisiana. Harvey is on the westbank of the New Orleans metro area, so yes I hate Katrina. But pretty much everything is okay now, it`s back to normal. I'm "MyLordWon" on advicenators. I am assuming you were brought up in church going family. Based on that assumption, I just wanted to encourage you on how WONDERFUL I think it is that you are seeking out your faith. The bible says "Seek and you will find..." That seeking shows great wisdom. So many young people turn away from Christ because they never seek out and explore their own walk with Jesus. Pray for God's continual wisdom as you sort through everything because if you have wisdom, everything else will fall into place.
