advice
ok i am an athiest i have read many things supportin the exsitence nad nonexstence of god. I was just curious as to why people believe so strongly in a religion or a single god.
I'm a very devout Christian and I believe in God because it's what makes sense to me. Ever since I was little, my parents have told me that God watches over us and protects us from harm. I simply believe in it because I want to and because I truly believe that he's real.
I've heard a whole bunch of stories lately of what happens to guys who go to work up in the oil rig camps in Northern Alberta Canada. One was that because it's so cold up there, that they have nothing to do but spend all their money on alcohol or drugs. They make a ton of money and spend it on drugs or alhohol because it's too cold to do anything else. I heard that some come back as addicts. I also heard some guys become addicted to porn because there are no woman up there.
This concerns me because right now a male friend of mine is working up there as a cook. I hardly ever hear from him. I know he works his ass off, and doesnt get a break for two weeks.
Has any one else heard any stories like these?
No, I haven't heard any stories like these. lol, but I wouldn't believe the "drugs and alcohol" one if I were you. Just because it's cold doesn't mean you can't do anything. It's cold during the winter and people still get out and do things. And there HAS to be women. Alberta, Canada isn't just one big Testosterone filled province...
Ok well somedays ago i went to this party.....my best friend was there but his g/f wasnt......so he was flirting and doin all that shit with this other girl.....his g/f found out and they broke up.....so we started talkin and she said she was likin me more and more everyday and would consider goin out with me sometime.....well a minute later her "boyfriend" called and siad he wants to get back together with her and he lied to her just so they could get back together.....so she pretty much abandoned me. but she did say "I really do like you maybe as just a friend but you mean a lot to me" I need help!!! (will rate 5's for any)
Well, first of all, I agree with you. It wasn't cool to leave you hanging like that, but as a girl, I also understand her point of view. She must really really like or maybe even love your friend. He did an awful thing to her and it must have taken tons of guts for her to take him back. Also, she was on the rebound when she was talking to you, so she might have not meant a single word she said, which is what you seemed most upset about. So don't sweat it, he's most likely going to "cheat" on her again, just because all guys cheat more than once if they do it at all. Just tell her that he's going to do it again, maybe she'll see the mistake of taking him back.
