She shouldn't be cutting herself and she CAN get hurt. You HAVE to tell someone about it. If you don't, she'll continue doing it and she could seriously hurt herself or even kill herself.
The reason why she does it is because that is the only pain she can control and you need to show herthat you care about her and don't want her dead or hurt in any way. If she does not believe you or does not listen to you, tell an adult like her mom, dad, or guardian.
It's the best thing you can do at a time like this. I think it's good that you really care about her and you're not leaving this alone. That's good. If she refuses to stop, don't give up on trying. Try everything you can to convince her that you love her as a friend and she could kill herself.
