So, like, I'm this guy. And like, I do stuff...

Chemist, musician, artist, programmer, coach, husband, dad, uncle, etc.

So yeah.

Advice-wise? There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I have a small cyst (like an infection under the skin) of my earlobe. Tomorrow I'm going to get the cyst lanced, thus relieving the pressure in my earlobe. It's pretty small, only the width of my earlobe at the bottom, but it's extremely painful now. I'm not afraid to get it lanced, but I'm wondering, will I have to have stitches? Will they give me a shot of pain reliever/numbing thing? Thanks! (link)
Lancing usually means they stick a large-bore needle into it. They might use local antistetic for it, likely a topical treatment (not an injection). Being on your earlobe, I doubt you'd get stitches - just a small hole poked into the cyst with a needle and the cyst drained.
