I have a small cyst (like an infection under the skin) of my earlobe. Tomorrow I'm going to get the cyst lanced, thus relieving the pressure in my earlobe. It's pretty small, only the width of my earlobe at the bottom, but it's extremely painful now. I'm not afraid to get it lanced, but I'm wondering, will I have to have stitches? Will they give me a shot of pain reliever/numbing thing? Thanks!

They gave me a needle that really stung for a minute than I never even knew what the doctor was doing. It was over very quick and I had stitches so I think that you might get a few but I don't know. Maybe it depends on how big the cyst was but mine was only really small and I had some.

Being on your earlobe, I doubt you'd get stitches - just a small hole poked into the cyst with a needle and the cyst drained. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
