Hey, My name is Mandy Marie. I'm an Australian and always will be one. I still own the accent, but I live in the US. I recently just moved from Miami Beach to New York City.

Ugh. My best friend kelly thinks she's a really good singer. The problem is... she sux! She's also going to be in the talent show and perform a song. When she does, she's gonna be sooo emmbarrased aftwerwards! Everyone's gonna make fum of her. I don't know what to do, or how to break it to her!! Should I just let her be TOTALLY embarrased? Help!! Please!!

You do know that there are two things you can do to help her. You could be honest and tell her the truth in a nice manner. Or you can let things go and see what happens. Meaning that, she would still do her preformance, and the results of her show would hint that she isn't that good.

If I were you, I would put myself in her position. Would Kelly want you to be honest with her before she embarrasses herself, or do you think she would take it the wrong way and it would be better if you let her find out for herself? You know Kelly, and I don't. I can't make that decision for you.

You can try to figure out what you'd want. Would you want the truth, or would you get mad if you were told the truth?

If you are going to tell her that she isn't a good singer, approach her in a supportive way. You could start off with something along the lines of "I just thought that you should know the truth, because I don't want you to be humiliated". Then, you might want to tell her that you support her, and understand that she loves singing. Tell her that she might want to work on improving her singing before she goes on with the show. She should get the message. Now, she might get mad or be thankful for your honesty. Let her know that if she enjoys singing and feels like she truly is good, don't stop her. Let her go do her show, because obviously she doesn't care about the audience's reaction.

If you think she just can't handle the the truth, and it's better to let it go then do so. Because not everyone understands the meaning of honesty. They might take what you say in a whole different direction. If that sounds like her, just cheer her on and let her sing! Support her and be on her side 100%.
