I have liked this guy for ages over a year and nearly all my friends have dated him. I think one still likes him. I have a strict policy not to date guys my friends liked, have liked or have dated. So I ask should I ask him out or stick to my policy?? Ps I am no glamour model

You like him. Screw you policy - why limit yourself like that? That doesn't make any sense - doing that will just make you miserable - if you like they guy, then act on it... ask him out.
