My name is Lyndsey and I'm 17 years old. I live in Lexington, South Carolina. I pride myself on being mature for my age with a good head on my shoulders, but I find I can be snippy when I hear something that just hits a nerve. I have a lot of strong opinions and I have no problem arguing them. I'm a very open-minded person and very tolerant of most things.
Immaturity is a big pet peeve of mine, as is self-centered, narrow-minded, and ignorant people. I can be cruel when it comes to these things, but sometimes certain people need to be told their faults. I know mine and I have no problem being confronted with them. If someone has a problem with me, online or in person, I'd rather they tell me and we can resolve the issue in a mature fashion. I won't tell you want to WANT to hear, just what you NEED to hear.
On a less serious note, I'm a laid back person and I enjoy shopping, the internet, and my favorite TV shows (Queer as Folk, The L Word, Friends, American Idol, Will & Grace, House). I don't have a large group of friends, but the ones I have are close and I love them to death. I generally enjoy life, minus the whole school deal. I'm a junior in high school and I can't wait to move on to college. I am an honors student and I hope to go to the University of South Carolina and then eventually into the medical field, possibly psychology.

What is the best diet that actually works? (link)

This question is impossible to answer with a definite statement. Different diets work for different people. If someone wanted to lose 100 pounds, they probably wouldn't be on the same diet as someone who wants to lose 10 pounds. Similarly, someone with a slow metabolism wouldn't be on the same diet and someone with a fast metabolism. Weight, metabolism, and body type all has to be taken into account when you are trying to lose weight.
You should do some research online of different diets. There are basic ones like low calorie. Well balanced, basic, healthy diets work best for people who only want to drop a few pounds. If you have more weight to lose, a more organized diet would work best. For example, Atkins or the South Beach Diet.
No matter which diet you choose, it's much harder to lose weight if you aren't working out. Exercise HAS to be in your diet plan or else it will take forever to lose the weight.
If you were a little more specific about your weight loss needs or your stats, I could help you out more. But with a question like this, a real answer is hard to give.

Apologizing would be a good start. Send a letter back to her saying something like "I did say some stuff about you, and I'm sorry about that. I don't know you and had no right to judge you just because you're pregnant."

I don't know about DangerNerd, but I know what you're asking.
Like, for example, Jaimie has a pic of herself on MySpace and the caption is "David owns".
I always wondered what that was about too. But any of these explanations could be it:
-They could mean the person owns them...like boyfriends or best friends.
-They could mean the person owns whatever the focus of the pic is on. For example, David takes a picture of his crotch and the caption is "Jaimie owns".
-They could just mean that the person owns the pic. Like a little friend thing, like "I claim this pic!"
I don't think it's some big thing we've been left out of. I know multiple people seem to be using it for multiple things, but I don't use it. I really don't get what's so awesome about it.

I'm wondering, if you go out in the sun (protected) for a little while each day, does your skin eventually get more used to the sun? And therefore, less likely to burn? (link)

As you tan, your skin gets more "used to" the sun in a way. For instance, I went to the tanning bed for a while and therefore have more of a tan than most of my friends. We went to the beach and all three of them burned while the sun didn't affect me at all (we were only there for an hour). Since I'm already tan, it takes a lot longer for me to burn.
However, the sun is damaging to your skin no matter how much of a tan you have. The more sun you get, the more your skin is already damaged from the UV rays.

This is what's on the website:

I remember when I was a little younger than you, I found a lump in my breast when I first started developing. It wasn't cancer. Sometimes we get lumpy areas of tissue in our breasts as we grow. Keep an eye on it and see if it changes or moves. A tumor is HARD and STATIONARY...it won't move at all.
If you're worried about it, definitely tell your mother and make an appointment with a doctor to check it out. It's probably nothing, especially at your age, but it won't hurt to make sure.

ok so my boyfriend made a wish a couple of days ago on myspace ofcourse...It was a bulliten he posted...It said "11 signs you love someone (if that will ever happen)"...I confronted him about it because he always tells me how much he loves me and stuff..And he said " i wished that katie and brandon would break up" and we got into a huge fight...Because he sleeps over at Katie's house all the time and he asked her out in september and she said no...He asked me out in november and him and Kaie are like brother and sister...But he likes her...He says he doesn't love me like he used to but he wants to be with me because he does love me...But he can't stop thinking about how things would be if him and Katie were going out...He says he'll do whatever he can to keep us together because he wants to be with me..
My first question is: How can I make him relize that she will never go out with him ever because it would ruin their friendship?(she told me that herself)

The easiest way for this guy to know that Katie doesn't want to be with him is to have her tell him. When it comes out of her mouth, he may see the truth in it. Just have her tell him that she doesn't feel the same way and never will. Then you can talk to him about losing her friendship over dating and all that. Because relationships DO hurt friendships...BAD.
Another thing is that personally, I wouldn't want to be dating a guy that had it this bad for another girl. A guy will say he loves you just so he won't lose you, even if he doesn't actually love you. And if you're in for a long-term relationship, this doesn't sound like the best situation. I mean, do you want to be kissing this guy, for example, knowing that he's thinking about and wishing he was kissing Katie? That's just weird and hurtful if you ask me.
I believe this calls for a long conversation between you and your guy (and Katie) and a decision about what to do with your relationship. Sometimes it's better just to move on in situations like these.

If you ask me, sexuality is a really fluid thing. I don't believe, in most cases, that we should label ourselves as gay/straight/bi. Plenty of "straight" women fall in love with other women, and the same goes for men. It doesn't mean you're gay, and I don't think it makes you bi either.
You can't choose who you like/fall in love with. You can't change who you're attracted to. I believe it's best to fall in love with the person rather than the gender.
I, for instance, am only attracted to guys at this point, but who knows if I'll fall for a girl one day? Or want to experiment with girls one day? It's possible, even if I don't want to right now. Experimentation is a good thing...it helps you figure out who you are and what you like.
I believe that whether someone is gay, straight, or bi, it shouldn't make a difference. We're all people trying to find someone to be happy with. It shouldn't really matter WHO we're happy with, just the fact that we are indeed happy.

As far as I know, you can't get a program like that for free. I have ImageReady, which comes with Photoshop, that makes animations (moving icons), but Photoshop/ImageReady is about $500 if you buy it new. I got it off eBay for $50 and they have it cheaper, but you'd have to do a search.
I know what I've said so far doesn't really help, but I just wanted you to know that most of those animations are done by VERY experienced people. You can't just get a program and make awesome icons. It takes practice, not to mention you'd have to LEARN how to make them before you actually do it.
Animations take time, patience, and LOTS of practice to make decent ones.

It seems that a lot of people don't know what poking actually is. Yes, it is used as flirting or a little affection thing between friends, but it actually DOES do something.
If you poke someone, you are given access to their profile (and vise versa) for 48 hours. It's something you can do before you add someone to see if they're interesting/cool enough or whatever.
It's hardly ever used for that reason, but that's what it was made to do.

If you go to a dermatologist, they do it in their office. But they will probably give you a full body exam where they look over your entire body for moles that are too dark or any skin cancer warning sings, then they'll schedule a removal date.

There is a chance of getting pregnant whenever you have sex. On your period, off it, it doesn't matter, if sperm enters your vagina, you can get pregnant.

What would you say is the best razor? I have both the Shick Intuition and the Venus Breeze. I want a razor (or good dipilatory) that will keep me smooth for a long time on my legs, bikini area, and underarms. Currently my leg hair grows back with in like 9 hours because i shave before i go to bed but when i wake up they are slightly stubbly. (link)

I have the same problem. I've used multiple Venus razors, but I always go back to the basic Shick razor for women. I still have those problems, though.
Like the person before me said, it depends on the person. Some girls just have quicker hair growth. Nair or Veet aren't good ideas either. The hair has to be a certain length in order to use them (about 1/4 of an inch) and if it isn't it'll just burn your skin.
Here are some ideas that might help you stay smoother for longer:
-Shave in the mornings instead of at night
-Run bathwater to shave in, don't do it in the shower
-Soak in hot water to make the hair soft before shaving
-Exfoliate with exfoliating body wash and a loofa before shaving the area
-Make sure the razor is sharp
-Apply lotion twice a day to make the skin smoother
-After you shave, later up slightly again and go over the area with the razor once more before getting out
I hope this helps you out some. It may sound like a pain in the butt, but once you get used to doing it, it won't be too bad.

Is it worth it to wait till I'm done high school to start dating again?

I think it would definitely be worth it to not date again until high school is over. It would probably make your grades better as well. Thinking all about guys in high school definitely doesn't help anything.
The only problem is that sometimes great guys come along when you're not looking for them. I'm dating a guy from another school right now and he was my first high school boyfriend (I'm a Junior) and I definitely wasn't looking for someone to date. You can't really know who's going to come along when you least expect it.
The best thing, I think, is to focus on school and your friends and family and hobbies that are important to you. Don't look for a guy to date, but if one comes along, don't fight it. High school is the time to have fun and start to realize who you are. Just enjoy it.

Every girl should keep themselves tidy. Some just trim it all around with scissors or an electric razor. Others shave the bikini like but leave some of the hair that they trim. Some shave the entire area completely.
It's a big hygiene thing. If you have a big bush that's uncontrollably hairy, it's just not attractive.
No one says you have to shave it all off, but keeping it trimmed and tidy is a must...especially if you ever plan on wearing a bathing suit or having sex in the future.
