The only time we (surgeons) see "moles" is when there is a question of something below the surface- cancer, lipoma, etc. that needs a larger incision and then suturing of the skin together. Even these are often a quick procedure (come in the morning- an hour to get it done- and then leave another hour later), but it all depends on what it looks like.

But they will probably give you a full body exam where they look over your entire body for moles that are too dark or any skin cancer warning sings, then they'll schedule a removal date.
