I guess the answer is quite obvious but as always, fool in like always think up of excuses only until the truth is blatantly staring at you in your face.
so, anyhow
there's this guy that I recently met at the wakeboarding group.
Our group meets up once a forthnight to wakeboard.
Previously he asked me if I wanted to go wakeboard with him, but because someone interrupted the conversation, it kinda stopped there.
So when our group met up again 2 days ago, I casually asked him 'so , when do you want to go wakeboarding'. His reply was 'Anytime, just give me a call.' so of course I whipped out my mobile all ready to exchange numbers. But he doesn't take his out and instead give me his number. And NEVER asked me back for mine.
So please hit me in the face and wake me up guys and gals. Does this simply mean that he's just not that into me, or not into me at all?
I kinda thought that getting a person's number is imperative if you like him/her.
confused. boo.

|
Honestly, it sounds like he's not really feeling you.. If he really wanted to make sure you two would hang out, then he'd ask for your number. His response kinda seems like a "Sure, whatever" reaction. Like, if you call, why not, but if you don't call, it's not like he's not gonna be upset about it.

i am currently on prozac .. the bottle says do not drink alcohol... why is this? what can happen? if i have a few beers will i die.. or is it if i consume an exceesive amount of alcohol will there be harfmful effects?
thanks ! (link)

Medication and alcohol usually do not mix well. The combination is basically toxic, like a poison. People can die from this, but usually don't. What usually happens is you end up in the hospital. They have to pump your stomach and you'll end up with serious kidney problems for life. Some people try to commit suicide this way and seriously regret it..they end up waking up in the hospital under full watch with a fried kidney and are subject to years of therapy. As long as you don't take your meds and drink at the same time, you'll be okay. Make time in between..Take your pills in the morning and drink at night.

It would help me soooo soo much if you could do this.. it wont take tht long..

16.m
i had a gf that lasted over one year. she said she just didn't want a bf anymore so i was cool with it. i also asked her, if there was another guy. she swore there wasn't.
i kid you not, 2 weeks later, she kissed my best friend, and told another one of my friends she liked them. both like her back.
i have no idea what to do with myself. i want to stop talking to her, because i hate her SO MUCH.
yet, everynight i still call her out of habbit and we talk like nothings wrong, i mean, it's almost like we're going back out, kinda talk.
but then the next day always come and i find out she's hanging out with 1 of 2, or BOTH of my best friends and is cuddling with them, and carrying on. and she still has the nerve to tell me she loves me, and cares about me.
i'm so frustrated, so mentally drained, so stressed it's ridiculous.
i know things will get better in time, but right now, everything just sucks. (link)
|
I know what you're talking about.. Don't kill me but I've been in her position before (I'm not like that anymore though!). I don't know this girl, but I can tell you a little bit from her perspective.
It seems like she can't commit and only cares about herself right now. She likes the attention and can't decide on just one person. She only tells you that she loves you and cares so she can keep you around. She's basically manipulating you.
What you need to do is tell her how she makes you feel, and never talk to her again. She'll only hurt you more if you keep talking to her. I know that calling her out of habit makes you feel better, but you need to think about this: If she truly cared about you, then she wouldn't be running around with your friends, would she? And it's not like she's dumb, she knows exactly what she's doing and how it makes you feel.
Anyways, things will only get better if you do something about it. Save yourself the stress and just let her go. If something causes that much negative impact on your life and even your health, it's not worth it.

does anyone wash their face with regular soap anymore? or is there a special face soap you use or facial cleanser? (link)
|
Regular soap isn't good for the face, it's usually intended for the hands or body. Your facial skin is different than the rest of your body. Using that soap can dry your face out. Personally, it makes my face break out. I used a daily face wash made by Clean and Clear that has a little bit of acne medication in it.

how can i give my hair more volume? like any certain way to wash it or blow dry it? or any shampoo/conditioner? thankss (link)
|
Volumizing shampoo and conditioners is a must. I like Tressemme because it works well for me. I also like their volumizing mousse, which works reallly well. There's also a volumizing root boosting spray that you spray on your roots before you blowdry your hair.
Blowdyring your hair upside down is the easiest way to give your hair volume. You can also tease the crown of your head with a fine-toothed comb. There are tons of tutorials on youtube that show you how to do it.
Also, the next time you go to get your haircut, tell the stylist to give you a cut that will give you more volume. She'll probably throw in lots of layers to give it more body.

Sorry, I don't know of any stores in that area, but it's sold online on ebay:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&dfsp=32&from=R40&satitle=likas+papaya+soap&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=48825&sabfmts=1&saobfmts=insif&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=32%26fsoo%3D2

Im am 13/f and i want to be a model, and when i was little (around 7) i went to a modeling thing. one of those open ones, and they said i had the looks. well im now a soccer player who isnt skinny but isnt fat. but my legs are big and i have a little bit of a tummy. and i was wondering how would i get noticed or something. and if i would need to lose weight. and some good advice on how to get started at a young age.
Thanks! (link)
|
I'm assuming you have the height (at least 5'8)? If you are shorter than that there is very little work out there for you besides print or promotional modeling.
They usually don't like it if you have too much muscle. You could be a fitness model though.
Anyways, I don't want to frighten you, but 13 isn't really a young age in this industry. Most girls are already modeling by this age. It's a pretty tough business to break into. Sometimes you will hear of modeling conventions on the radio, but I'll warn you that they charge a pretty large fee. If you look on http://craigslist.com and find your city, they're always posting things like, "photographer needs models" or "open casting call".
Or, if you by chance know any other girls who model, you're best bet would be to talk to them and see how to get in the agency they're in.
Like anything, you have to start at the bottom. Get a lot of experience and professional photos so you can build a portfolio and comp cards.
Anyways, if you are serious about it, then you have to prepare for a lot of rejection. Be aware that this isn't a job you do forever because they don't really want you once you get old (mid twenties). Good luck!

is this coupon already expired?

what does "offer valid through" mean? (link)

Yes, the coupon has expired. It expired on Jan. 18.
When is says "offer valid through Jan. 18, 2008", that means you can use the coupon until Jan 18. After that, it's expired.

okay. I am going to go get tested for and STD. my brother says that when I give my insurance to the people..this kind of stuff will show on a insurance bill. is this true? i really do not want my mom all in my buisness. i hear 16 years and older you can go to the doctor by yourself. so taking my insurance card in to go get tested and it showing up on a bill is not what i want. cause then my mom will find out. i'm just trying to keep this to myself..atleast. Is there anything about a bill I should worry about? because I talked to the one of the employers that works at the clinic and she says I they need insurance info so they can see if it will cover what needs to be payed. Can some one please help. thanks. (link)
|
That person didn't really answer your question but anyways...
This depends on what STD you are getting tested for. If it's for HIV, all they do is get a cheek swab sample from you and if they need your insurance, it won't show up as that.
If you're getting tested for things like chlamydia or syphilis, that's a bit more expensive because they get a urine sample and have to bring it to the lab. If they see something bad, they might have you come back so they can look in "there", which costs even more.
So, on the INSURANCE bill, it'll just say where the insurance was used, like "Johns Hospital", BUT when the hospital sends you a letter about the rest of the charges you have to pay, it will say "vaginal so and so".
Anyways, if your parents see that on the insurance bill and they didn't know you went to the doctor's, they might call the insurance company and ask what these charges were for...
If you go to a planned parenthood, they're a lot more confidential about it because they understand how it is for teenage girls. Just find a planned parenthood and call them beforehand about the insurance.

okay so me and my boyfriend have been dating for about 3 years off and on. Just recentley we found out that we were FOURTH COUSINS! it really bothered us both. we broke up cause of it, and im so upset, cause i really wanted our relationship to grow, and i wanted us to be together. he wants us to be together also. but i jus tell him no, cause i dont want my family to know. and it wood just be too secretive, ya know? but i really want to be with him. i honestley do love this boy. is that nasty? whats your opinion on this situation? what would you do? (link)
|
In my opinion, I think fourth cousins is really far down the line. I don't even know who my third cousins are!! If you were second cousins, then I'd start to see a problem with it. Other than that, I think it's okay.
Do your parents even know that you two are related? Or this is something you figured out on your own? If not, you should just be with him if or until they find out lol.
Now, let's say you two were going to get married. It's not against the law. 26 states in the US allow first cousin marriage. If they were to have children, there isn't a high risk of birth defects or genetic mutations. It's about the same as if the parents were not related.
Anyways, if you love him, then be with him!

Why is there even an American Idol? Only one artist was popular [Kelly Clarkson] and I can see Carrie Underwood following her footsteps. But the other winners.. do they only do songs based on what society likes? I was listening to Jordan Sparks songs.. and it doesn't even show off her talent. it's just repeating a few words and it sounds so fixed. is this what people like nowadays? =s (link)
|
I agree with the person who posted before me. The show really IS for the ratings and publicity.
Artists hardly ever get a say on what they choose to do with their careers. They have publicists, image consultants, and producers who control their music and image. They have control over the artists do what they can do boost sales.
Until an artist basically becomes legendary, THEN they can do whatever they want. If they left it in the hands of the artist, chances are they won't become as successful as they would without these people whose jobs are to market them.

I want to try and get into Yale. I know it's a lot of work. Can someone tell me all the qualifications and stuff?
i couldn't really find it on the website.
also do colleges like that have everything? like if i wanted to do fashion would they have courses on stuff like that?
thanks to anyone who can help! (link)
|
I don't think Yale even has fashion. Don't choose a school because it's impressive. If you know you want to study fashion, go to a school that is reputable for it's fashion program, most likely an art school. NYU has a very prestigious art school.
Of my friends who got into Yale.. they all had 4.0 GPA's, had 34+ ACT scores, were first chair in orchestra, won numerous science and bio competitions, played varsity sports, were members of virtually every club in high school, and don't forget, you should have LOTS of leadership positions in those clubs and be apart of volunteer groups outside of school.
Basically, you have to be BEYOND perfect. It's not for your average person.
anyways, don't be bummed if you don't get in. If you don't get in, then that means that you wouldn't be able to handle the school. That's why they have qualifications like that.
|
ok, im doing an argumentative [pro vs. con] paper for my AP class, and my topic is plastic surgery and basically the effects/should it be used to cosmetic reasons or just for medical disability? i'm pretty unclear on where i myself stand on the issue and i'd just like some more opinions.. do you think it should be an option for those who just want to "look better", or no, and why ? (link)
|
In my opinion, I think it should be used for both cosmetic AND reconstructive surgery. It's a person's own choice and free right what they choose to do with themselves, and it only affects that person. Like for example, if I got a boob job, it wouldn't directly affect you, right?
Anyways, think of how many jobs would be lost if they removed cosmetic surgery. That's removing an entire profession. I still think it's a respectable profession because they are still doctors and study the same thing as other doctors. They're still surgeons in the end, but the only difference is that they don't deal with life-or-death situations. Like they don't have to save someone's life, just enhance it.

ok so i have been having sex with my bf(not for long at all like a week)
and we have been using protection and the condom hasn't broke or anything that would make me think that i could be pregnant.
but i should have my period by now and my boobs are huge(i have all the signs of my period but no blood?..does this mean that i could be??
i don't know if i'm just being paranoid or something could really be wrong?
is there anyway to tell if i am or am not without the anticipation of waiting to get my period?? (link)
|
You are not pregnant so there is nothing you need to worry about. If you have been using protection then you are fine!!!
You'll probably get your period within the next week since you're experiencing period symptoms. Your period could be thrown off a few days because of many reasons: you're sexually active, you're physically active, you have a change in diet.
So yeah, you are fine! The exact same thing happens to me too so don't worry about it! As long as you are using a condom, the chances of you getting pregnant are about 1-2%
|
I was wondering whats the best way to ask my mom to go on the pill without her thinking that my boyfriend and i are having sex..because we dont. we think about it, but our values overrule the idea. anyways, my period is 7 days long, sometimes a few days more than that and always heavy...is that a good reason to go on it? (link)
|
Just be upfront and honest about it with your mom. Tell her you have abnormal periods (btw, you do have good reasons for going on the pill because bleeding heavily for a week is NOT good!) and she will understand. Be really calm about it and act concerned. If she tries to pull the sex card on you, DON'T overreact or get upset because that will just make her want to say no even more, just say what you just said, that your values overrule it. Act like an adult and she will respect you.
Anyways, if she still says no, you can get it at Planned Parenthood without her knowing, but you have to be at least 16. They probably give you a discount too if you're younger, or else tell them that you are concerned about the costs and they prescribe you a cheaper BC. They have to give you a pap smear before they give you a prescription.
Good luck!!

is columbia university in new york hard to get into?
can anyone tell me more about the school?
or suggest any other colleges in new york.
im looking to be an elementary school teacher.
thanksss. (link)
|
First of all, what are your reasons for wanting to go to those schools? When choosing a college, you should choose the school that has the best program you are looking for. So in your case, you should be looking for a school that has the best teaching program, NOT the school that is the most prestigious.
Columbia is a great school but difficult to get into. It's not as difficult as Harvard or Yale, but you should have at least a 3.98 GPA, very high test scores, an awesome essay, and be involved in activities or sports. They also like to see that you in excel in a particular area. For example, it's listed on your resume/activity list that you've won a lot of science competitions, or maybe you are on the debate team and have won a bunch of tournaments. That's what they like to see. You also need letters of recommendation.
So the answer is yes, it's not for your average person. You have to be an intelligent, well-rounded person.
NYU is also a good school. It's well-known for its art school. SUNY is another school but I don't know much about it.
|
I went a semester in a private college and earned no credits, then transffered to a community school and flunked out. With my past transcripts I'm afraid no school would ever accept me. I don't have the option of not returning to school. I'm afraid no college will consider me with such horrible transcripts. What are my options?
(link)
|
First, let's look at what got you in this position. Did you fail because you weren't motivated, or because you struggled with the coursework? Did you actually try, or you just never went to class?
You need to look at the reason why you chose to be in college in the first place. Is it because you feel like you HAVE to be there and your parents or society is forcing you?
If the problem was that it was just too challenging but you tried, you should have spoken to your professors and got tutoring. Professors are usually understanding and like being approached. It may vary with schools, but you could have been put on academic probation or appealed the university on why they should have kept you, or even talked to your professors about what you should do because you knew you were going downhill.
However, if it was because you didn't even want to be in school or had no interest, then you shouldn't have gone to school. I'm assuming that this is the case because you earned no credits, which means you went there and did nothing. If you really cared about it, then you would've at least tried. (Btw, I hope I don't sound like I'm putting you down, I'm just trying to help you find the root of the problem. You have to find the source of the problem before you can try to fix it).
Not everyone goes to college. Some people aren't as fit as others. Yes, it is statistically true that the higher you are in education, the higher your salary is, but life isn't over if you don't go to college. A lot of people don't go to college, but I'll warn you, people like that have to prepare for a rough, rough life.
So here are your options:
If you genuinely care about getting a degree, you can transfer to another community college, earn your degree online, go to a tech institute, things like that. You can also seek certificate programs and vocational training. Vocational schools are like those who teach a certain area of expertise, like to become an electrician.
If you're like me, if you are doing something you don't like to do, you will quit it. I would like you to find what it is you like to do. What interests you? Take a minute and think about what you are good at, what people compliment you on. What can you see yourself doing years from now?
If you are interested in art, visit an art school and find out what you need to get in. You obviously have to build a portfolio.
You can go to cosmetology school to learn how to do hair, makeup and nails. I don't think you even have to have a high school degree for this, you can just be 16 years old. You go to school for a year or two (it costs $1000-$2000). In order to get licensed, you are required to practice a certain amount of hours (it varies depending upon which state you are in). The hard part about this is that you have to hustle to establish a stable clientele base before you can expect to see good money.
If you are interested in health and fitness, maybe become a personal trainer. You have to spend some money on getting the books to study for the exam, but once you pass it you are certified. This will be hard if you don't have a general knowledge or are not good at anatomy, physiology and nutrition. You also have to be a friendly, personable person who enjoys helping people reach their goals.
Getting a license to be a real estate agent is pretty much the same procedure for being a personal trainer. You buy the materials, attend some workshop classes (you don't go to school for this, they just offer classes), then take an exam. The trouble with this is, you should find out the demand of sales in your are. In some states, people are always buying or leasing houses, but in others, real estate is very slow. This isn't a guaranteed job because you don't have a stable income. You could make $100,000 one year and $30,000 the next. If you aren't a good salesman, then this probably isn't for you.
You could take one of these jobs to the next level and start your own business. Although, entrepreneurship isn't for just anyone. There's a lot of loss in the beginning, but rewards in the end. However, it takes a while to establish a business and there is a high failure rate.
In the end, don't do something because you feel like it's the right thing to do, like you ought to do it because everyone else is or someone told you to. In the end, it's YOUR life. YOU have to live it, not your mom or dad. I hope that at least one of these options I listed appeals to you. Even if you don't go back to college, at least try something else. It'll be a very hard life for you if you're stuck flipping burgers with a high school diploma.
Good luck!!

when are the cheapest times to buy victoria's secret goods? (exact dates) especially bras?
semi-annual sale? when is that?
any other times? (link)
|
The best time is right after Christmas AKA the Semi-annual sale, which is usually two or three days after the new year. It was on Jan 3 this year. The hard part is, everything sells out really fast.
If you aren't already signed up for their email newsletter, you should. They're always sending out coupons and deals. When you're on the mailing list, you get offers that aren't available to the general public. You get it because you're on the list. They just sent a coupon yesterday for free shipping on bra tops.
If you give them your address, they send you a bunch of promotional deals almost every month. Like, "Get $10 off the new Biofit bra with any purchase of $40 or more". Like I said before, you only get those coupons when you're on the mailing list.
If you're just looking for cheap VS bras then look on ebay. There are tons of ebay stores that sell VS and Pink items exclusively. And don't worry; they're all new items. They don't sell used undergarments. That would be just nastyyy ugh.

Ok This is my first year of high school. In my old school, I was the top and was almsot a perfect student and now that i'm in high school, there's just so many smart people that i feel average and stupid! All my new friends that i've made have averages in their classes in the 90's while I'm struggling to stay at my 81 average in my classes or stay at the 80's!
There's this REALLY blond girl in one of my classes. And i know that it sounds stereotyping but she's like how it is in the movies when they exxagerate things with bimbos: blond, hip clothes, make up, high voice, dumb personality. But i found out that the only person in that class that has a 90 average is HER!
I am shocked beyond compare! She barely tries her work and if it's something big, she'll remember it at the last minute but doesn't try that hard on it and gets in her 90s while i try hard, go straight home after school, and focuse my life all around school and I'm trying to keep my grades at the 80s!
Is there any tips or advice you can give me to get into the 90s without so much hard work like how she's doing it? I even focuss in class and recheck my work before I hand them in, I just don't get how my average isn't as high as i want it and hers is so high beyond imagine! (link)
|
You shouldn't be jealous of that girl. Even though there are people like that who don't really have to study, it really catches up with them in the end. Once classes get harder, they don't really know what to do and end up suffering. Anyways, it doesn't work like that in college AT ALL. Even if you're smart, you can't just take the test without studying and expect to pass.
My best advice is to study a little bit every night. You don't even have to study that hard, just read over your notes a couple times. Repetition is key, and that's basically what studying is, just going over the information. You could even make flashcards too.
Also, don't be fooled by how people appear like they don't have to try. Most of the time, they make it look effortless, but just because you don't see them studying, that doesn't mean they aren't doing it at home.
