well school is comming around soon and ive been wanting to look more mature because i finally got my hair cut and i can wear it down and i look more mature but id like to wear makeup like a teen and not a 5 year old haha. well i have brown eyes and brown hair and beige/olive skin (my background is mexican/spainish)..any advice on colors or how to apply some things?? im pretty good with most i just am kinda bad with doing eyeliner on my top eye-lid and i dont know what colors would be good for mee. thanks!

For your eyeshadow, I would recommend golds, bronzes, greys, and greens. For eyeliner, you could use dark greens, browns and blacks, and for mascara, blacks and browns. For other color tips, http://www.covergirl.com/whatsright/colormatch/index.jhtml is really helpful.

This website seems to be good for eyeliner tips: http://www.cosmeticscop.com/learn/article.asp?PAGETYPE=ART&REFER=MAKEUP&ID=42

Good luck, and I hope I helped :)

i just bought this really cute comforter called "fifi" from bed bath and beyond and its like paris themed. and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what i could do to my room to add onto that. i'm thinking of paintings so if anyone can think of a picture that would fit into the paris theme, please let me know! thanks!

You could try going to www.allposters.com and searching "Paris." Also http://www.art.com/asp/search/ProductSearch-asp/_/search_String--paris/posters.htm?filteroptions=0&isSearch=Y&RFID=054402&TKID=&CTID=&GCID=S15529x001-Places&OVKEY=&OVMTC=&OVRAW=&KEYWORD=paris+painting&TrackID=&ui=4EC9296696DD49418243E35E079D0184 seems to have some good stuff.
Going with the Bed, Bath, and Beyond theme, I found this on their website: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=14017887

The Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triumph would, of course, make good pictures. You could get pictures of poodles, little french shops, or pastries.

Good luck, and I hope this helped :)

Okay, I'm wanting to write an emotional song. I want it to have a lot of the stuff I went through in my life put into it, I just don't know how to start it or anything. And I've already been to the Robyn Kendrick website, so that didn't help either. I was sexually abused by my cousin from the time I was 5 to the time I was 11. Then, my mom and dad got divorced, and that's been really hard for me. Lastly, I have like an eating disorder now. My mom thinks I'm anorexic because I won't eat and I'm throwing up now. Now because of this, I've wanted to cut myself and express my feelings and emotions, but I'm thinking it'd be better to express it into a song instead of harming myself. So If anyone can help me on my song, it'd be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Eden, XxSeetherxAddictxX

Let me start out by saying that I am so, so sorry some of that stuff happened to you. And you are absolutely right that it is better to write a song about it than to hurt yourself.

You can start by listening to your favorite artists and getting inspired. Think about the way they put their lyrics together, what the styles they use, and what you like most about their lyrics. (For example, do they use metaphor? Do they use rhyme?)

What you should do next is just free-write. It doesn't have to be structured or organized; just get down what you're feeling, and work from there. Try to put what you've written down into phrases that fit together, and then you can start organizing it into verses and choruses. It doesn't matter if your first or second or even third song isn't very good; you can always go back and edit it later.

I really hope I've helped, and good luck writing fabulous songs :)

My summer's going by waaay too fast. I know there's no way to slow down time, but what can I do to live up the last couple weeks of summer?

Try to hang out with your friends as much as possible. Go to a concert, go to the mall, go the beach/pool. Do whatever you love to do but don't always have time to do during the school year. You could also have an end of the summer party with your best friends.

Hope this helps!

I love my schedule this year, but my english class is just horrible. The teacher only gave an A to one person last year, and it was a 90%. All of my friends have said she's extremely hard, and she even told us today that she is tough. This isn't an AP or honors class either. There are 3 other english classes that I could be in. I might fill out a schedule-change form to get a different teacher. If they don't let me change teachers, what do I do??

I am sorry to say you are just going to have to deal with it. Work harder, and pay attention to her criticism, and you'll get a good grade. In the long run it is better to have a tough teacher, so don't give up.

I've been writing songs for a while, but never have really came up with anything I like. I was wondering if any of you have tips on how to make a good song. Also once the lyrics are created any ideas on how to come up with a neat tune to go along with it to complete the final song?

One thing you should do is really listen to and study the lyrics of the bands that you like, and think about why those lyrics are good. Don't directly copy a style of lyrics, but draw inspiration from your favorite bands. (Reading poetry can also help with this).

Another thing to do is whenever you think of a phrase you like and could use in a song, WRITE IT DOWN. Just keep thinking about it and building on it, bit by bit, and eventually you'll come up with something great. Once, a phrase popped into my head that had nothing to do with my own life and built a song out of it.

Something to remember is that the important thing is getting the words down on paper. They don't have to be brilliant. You can always come back and edit them later. Just keep practicing and soon you'll come up with things you like.

Good luck, and I hope this helped!

My friend has a problem and I don't know what to say to her...This is what she said in a message she sent me.

(her boyfriend) moved. please don't think he said this just to break up with me, and not tell me the real reason why. i know he didn't. but he's gone. while he was away with some relative, his dad got a house in frisco.(a town somewhat near us) and i don't think i'll see him again, at least not any time soon.

She's devastated right now and crying really bad...I've never been in this situation and I don't know what to say to her...Please help me?

What you need to do is be there for your friend right now, whenever you can. Talk to her whenever she needs someone to talk to; it's better in person, but if that's not possible, talk on the phone. Give her lots of hugs and a shoulder to lean on.

Remind your friend that even if she can't see her boyfriend all the time, she can still call him and email him. Remind her that you are there for her and if she needs anything, you have her back. And remember, when you don't know what to say, it's okay to just listen and say "I know" every once in a while.

This is obviously very, very difficult for your friend, so let her wallow for a while. She'll feel better later, but for now you need to take care of her. It may be hard for you to support her right now, but remember that your friend will do the same for you later on.

Good luck and I hope I helped :)

Hi,

For a long time in my life I've felt like people just can't tell me the truth about things. Whether it's my family, friends, people at businesses, or just some random person I meet on the street. I feel like everyone is afraid to tell me the truth because they either think I can't handle it or I'll get angry and upset. Do they feel ashamed to admit something to me? I can handle it when I'm told the raw truth about something, even if it's something that could potentially hurt me. But perhaps I'm not showing people that I want to hear the truth. Is there a way I can let people know that they can be honest with me and I'm not going to be angry with them if they are? Also how do I let them know without saying "I think you are lying. Go on, tell me the truth".

Any kind of remotely helpful advice would be apreaciated. Thanks!

If you feel like someone isn't giving you the whole truth, you should be straight up and ask them to be totally honest, but don't say something like, "You're lying." Phrase it as a question, not an accusation, like, "Are you telling me the complete truth?" Explain to the person that sometimes you feel that he or she isn't being honest with you, and that you would rather know the truth. But if the person you're speaking to insists that they aren't lying, then you have to accept that. It is possible that they are being honest.

I hope I've helped :)

I need a song about a girl that is dating a guy but loves another guy.. I already got Dilemma by nelly feat kelly..I would perfer a rock song or something..

I also need a song about a girl who loves this guy but he won't take her back but still loves her..

tahnks in advance!

For the first one, it's more hip-hop, but "Complexity" and "Break You Off" by the Roots are both great. They're from the guys perspective though.

For the second one, "Nothing Better" by the Postal Service is perfect. It's the guy that wants the girl to take him back, but other than that it totally fits.

Hope these help!

my best friend is scared of the dark. i can't get to sleep when i spend the night at her house because she keeps all the lights on in her room and i just cant fall asleep. so when she hits the hay... i quietly go to the light switch and turn the lights off. as soon as i do that she wakes up and starts crying! what to do???
thanks in advance
Frenchy♥

Try to compromise with her. She might be willing to only have a nightlight or two on so it stays reasonably dark.

I would also recommend getting a sleepmask. I use one because I'm very sensitive to light and I wake up at just about the crack of dawn, and they're very good at blocking out the light. You can get one at most drug stores (or on overnight plane flights with United Airlines, lol) for pretty cheap. If you toss and turn a lot you could try using bobby pins to help keep it on.

Good luck, and I hope I helped :)

my friend invited me to go to this lake w/ her and her friends next weekend and i thought it was okay at first, but then she started telling me more about it. she said that the lake is her friends grandparents and hes the one who wants everyone to go. hes 19 tho and im 15 and i just think its sorta weird u kno? my friend is 15 too but if we both go there will be 6 people there 3 girls and 3 guys. the rooms are seperate so it shouldnt be too awkward bu i have a bad feeling about it. last night my friend invited me to the movies to go w/ him and her and i said no she was like " he'll meet your parents if you want him to he said hed give you a ride" but im here thinking why does he want to meet my parents, he hasnt even met me! then i was on the phone with my friend last night and i was telling her about it and she was like dude!!! he likes you! b/c 2 of our friends told her he did and he had one of them as his number 1 on myspace i asked my friend why and she said its b/c he liked our other friend and he did the same thing to her and apparently he dates alot of young girls. i just think its really freaky, what do i do? should i go next weekend or not, and why does this dude like me, i dont think its just like a lie because i was talking to the girl who initially ivited me online and she was like ya he said hed pick you up i think he likes you and later was when my friend said he did. i dunno am i over reacting??? please help!!!!! (sorry this is sooooo long!)

You should definitely go with your gut. Tell your friend that this situation is making you really uncomfortable, and you'd rather not go to the lake with them. It's majorly creepy and very inappropriate for a 19-year old to be interested in a 15-year old. Ask your friends to leave you out of it, and advise them to stay away from this dude as well.

Hey I am for this school year I really want to get A's in every class. I am willing to work my butt off for it. I just would like any advice you guys think would help in keeping organized, and motivated…or just any tips at all for getting all A's. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

Here are some tips that help me:

-HIGHLIGHT. Whenever you have to do a reading, just highlight the important parts. Buy a bunch of different highlighters and color code. (For example, in history class, you could have yellow for main ideas, pink for names, blue for dates, etc.)

-Set goals and give yourself rewards. You could watch 10 minutes of T.V. every time you do half an hour of homework, or eat a piece of chocolate every five problems you finish.

-If you need help, get it! Ask a parent, friend, teacher, or sibling when you get confused. But never just straight-up ask for the answer; get someone to help you work you through it, not do your homework for you.

-Raise your hand in class. Even when you aren't sure if you have the right answer, take risks and do your best.

-Don't leave long-term projects until the last minute. Give yourself a schedule and stick to it. Have a day-to-day plan of what work you need to get done.

-If you need to memorize facts, write a song! For science class I wrote a rap about evolution, and that's one of the few things we learned that year that I really remember.

-Go the extra mile. If your teachers ever offer extra help sessions, even if you're doing well, it always helps to do everything you can to practice. You should also take notes even when it's just optional.

-Get your parents to help proofread your essays. Actually, get anyone and everyone you can to proofread for you. It really, really helps.

-For English class, get into the habit of writing and typing with proper grammar. Whether you're emailing your friends or jotting something down in your diary, pretend you're going to turn it in to a teacher and dONt wRitE lyK dIs!!1 (Although reading your question, you seem to have that down already)

-Use tab dividers in your binder. Everyone organizes their stuff differently but I would recommend having a section for each subject, plus one for homework that you still need to do. It's hard not to get lazy about just randomly shoving stuff in there, but it makes a huge difference if you take the extra couple seconds to put things in the right place.

I really hope I helped, and good luck in school!
