about
While I am still young, I have had a great deal of life experience. It is from this that I give advice. I am open minded and try not to be judgemental. If I can help in any way, I will. Just ask. However, like everyone else in this world, I am not perfect. My advice may not always suit you, since my experiences are not the same as yours. If you want clarification on any answers I give, feel free to ask me. If you don't like what I said, or if I offended you, let me know. This is the best way for me to improve on my responses. Thanks for looking at my page!

okay so i only had sex once and it was just a few weeks ago.. and i didnt bleed and it didnt hurt during or after.. and i have been fingered before that ..so how do i know if my hymen broke already? oh yah i also use tampons if that helps
In this time, a girl's hymen can be broken in so many ways. If you play sports, ride horses, use tampons, etc. your hymen can be broken. So, yes, it has probably broken. Not bleeding with sex is a good indicator of that. But it could have broken pretty much any time. It is a very thin membrane that actually breaks pretty easily.
I am looking for a cheap costume for a play... Hopefully under $40. I want a late victorian era (about 1880-1900) dress that's rather plain. it's for a servant's costume in England... it can be a gown that I can add an apron on, or a blouse and skirt set. I'm having a lot of trouble finding something that fits all of my qualifications! If anyone can post a link or tell me a store that I can order from (that they KNOW carries what I'm looking for) that would be REALLY helpful! Oh, it's for The Secret Garden. Thanks in advance!
Why don't you make it? Simplicity has some great patterns that are very easy to follow. They are also easy to adapt to individual needs. Try these historical patterns: http://simplicity.com/index.cfm?cat=4&type=19&sec=40&startrow=1
If you don't sew, there is probably someone involved in the play who does.
Another really great way to put a costume together is to search Goodwill or the Salvation Army. I spent a great deal of time in theater and those were some of my best resources.
Im 16 years old and planning on going to see a play for my birthday, i reall dont know what to see though! I have already seen lion king, wicked, Mama Mia, and hairspray. I LOVED hairspray and wicked. Can anyone suggest a good play to see that they loved? Or one that sounds like i might like it based on my taste?
What is in your area that you can see? I love Andrew Lloyd Webber stuff (Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, etc). Sondheim is also good (Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Gypsy). I'm also fond of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon. I'm looking forward to seeing Beauty and the Beast this summer. I think any of those would suit your taste pretty well, based on what you've seen and enjoyed.
I've had a bad head cold for about a week now (stuffy nose, cough, sinus pressure, sore throat) and tonight I noticed my discharge was slightly resembling the texture of cottage cheese. I remembered that texture was a sign of an infection or problem. I'm wondering if my cold has any connection to a possible vagina infection? I'm planning on seeing a doctor but I wanna know what to tell my mom I'm going for.
While the cold doesn't have a direct influence on your discharge, there can be a connection. You likely have a yeast infection. While your body was busy fighting the cold, other areas got neglected enough by your immune system for infection to take over. Go to a doctor for an official diagnosis and medication. And the doctor can recommend an OTC treatment for future infections.
is it true that you are more likely to get pregnant before or after you get your period?
I believed that it was true that you were less likely to get pregnant in the few days before and after your period. I was wrong. My son is 8 now. You get pregnant when you are ovulating. If you have an extremely normal regular cycle, you will ovulate right in between periods. Most women do not have such a predictable cycle. So, if a guy ejaculates in you, you have a chance of being pregnant. The only sure fire way to avoid it (short of surgery, anyway) is abstinence. Birth control (condoms, the pill, the shot, etc.) is the next option. Of course, if you are trying to get pregnant, have sex all the time. Eventually it will work :)
hey, how do you get the part of being an extra in a movie? do you have to be in the right place at the right time?
Sometimes is is the right place at the right time. Other times, you will see announcements about auditions. These are typically called "cattle calls" because so many people go that they might as well be cattle. But they are kinda fun anyway. Newspapers will usually have the announcements in the classifieds and such. Another way is to go to a talent agency. However, you really need to be wary of them. They typically want you to pay them to represent you, and the amount is almost always far too much. I have yet to search the internet for info on cattle calls, but you might be able to find something.
i had sex the other day and im supposed to get my period.. but it was unprotected, so im scared. he said he didnt cum in me so if i were to get my period in a few days, would that mean im not pregnant? or would i have to wait for next month?
First, never listen to a guy when he says he didn't cum in you. Even if he is certain he didn't, there is often a bit of ejaculate before orgasm, mainly to lubricate. So, he doesn't have to have an orgasm to get you pregnant.
Second, if your period is due in the next few days, don't worry until you haven't gotten it for about a week or so after it was due. I had a few late periods in my time simply because I was stressing so much I made it late. (yes, stress can do that)
If it doesn't come after a week or so past when it is due, get a pregnancy test. If you are really concerned, there are tests that are supposed to give you results as early as the first day of your missed period. I think that is only reliable if you have extremely regular periods.
In the future, use protection. If you don't want to push a guy into using a condom when he doesn't want to, then he just isn't the right guy to be having sex with.
i haven't gotten my period yet.
i'm getting discharge everytime i change my underwear though.
This is the first time i've ever gotten discharge.
( it started about likeee. 2 or 1 and a half weeks ago )
is this a sign that im getting my period soon?
It probably is. This can go on for a while though before you get your period.
I recommend you keep a pad in your purse. That way you will be ready when you do start, which is typically at the most awkward time possible.
What is the safest time for a woman to have sex?
There is none.
Some will say during or just after a period 'cause you won't be ovulating. That is bs. I got pregnant 2 days after my period 'cause I didn't use a condom, thinking that I wasn't ovulating.
If you are going to have sex and don't want to get pregnant, always use some form of contraception. And the rhythm method and pulling out don't count. Use a condom at the least. There are many options for other contraceptives, including the pill, the depo shot, IUDs (which I don't trust. I've known a couple people who have had them fail, and they can damage the fetus if you do get pregnant), patches, etc. Just make sure you don't forget to use something.
Alright. Im 15. And I do know that right now is really early to start having sex. or whatever. But i feel really pressured. Everyone had girlfriends or boyfriends. And Im like the odd one out. And I feel like, whenever I do have a boyfriend, and I do refuse to have sex, they might breakup with me. Because right now is so sex realated. Everything is about sex. And more sex. Or "head".. I dont know. So Im thinking what is the worse thing that can happen if I do decide to have sex right now. I will just be up to date. And If i use a condom. Everything will be ok..??
And just so you know. Im not the one just to go find some dude and have sex with him. I will go through the regular process or whatever. and like wait like 3 months to start..but im still really iffy about the situation.??
I dont know. I just feel out.
Feeling out is nothing compared to what can happen when you have sex. Sure, I first had sex when I was 16 and my bf was 15, but we had been together a while and neither of us had had sex before, so there was absolute certainty that neither of us had an std. But I did have a few times when my period was way late and I thought I might be pregnant. That would not have been good.
Anyway, you said you want to know the worst thing that can happen if you do decide to have sex right now. Here is the list:
Pregnancy
AIDS
Gonorrhea
Clamydia
other STDs
And if you use a condom, well, they are not guaranteed. Condoms can break. Guys have even been known to lie and say they are using them. In the heat of the moment, it may not be noticed. Or you could just forget. All it takes is one time. That is how I got my son (Ok, I was 20 and engaged, but still . . . one time without a condom and I got pregnant).
If you do decide you are ready for sex, it is not a bad thing. You just need to be sure you are ready and that you are with the right person. Make sure that person knows what you want (insist on protection!). If you want to wait, that is good too. Sure, you don't feel like part of the crowd, but are the risks really worth feeling in? Think of this: they are all having sex, possibly a lot. They are all at risk for the problems. If being in ends up meaning being in the hospital, is that where you really want to be? What is most important is what you are comfortable with, not what everyone else thinks you should be doing.
Anyway, you seem really uncertain. You even say you feel iffy about it. To me, that says you aren't quite ready yet. I think that is good. Stick to what you feel good about. If you give in to pressure, you may not feel so great about it. Your first time should be on your terms, not theirs.
Can anyone explain to me why when I have sex it feels like I need the toilet but, when i go I don't pee??
I'm really worried!!
It is possible that it is pressure on the bladder. To fix that, just try a different position. Doggy style tends to put less pressure on everything.
Another thing it could be is just very good sex. The g-spot people are always looking for is actually a part of the body called the urinary sponge. Pressure on it feels really good, once you get past feeling like you need to pee. If this is what is happening, go to the bathroom before sex. Then, even if you feel like you need to go, you know you don't really have to. Then relax and enjoy it. (oh, to find that spot yourself, it is just behind the pelvic bone. Insert a finger and hook it towards the front of your body. There will be a softish spot and when you put pressure, you will feel like you need to go to the bathroom. If that is the same as when you are having sex, you have found what is happening :P )
ok im 20, female. I get really turned on when i see naked women and i want to touch myself. But I would never consider doing anything with a woman. Like, it kinda grosses me out thinking about doing something with another woman...but I like to watch lesbian porn. It turns me on way more than man-woman porn. Whats wrong with me?
There is nothing wrong. Honestly, I think women are just generally nicer to look at than men. I get more turned on watching women as well. There is just something more sensual about a woman's curves and we are typically more graceful in our movements. Yeah, I know not all women are more attractive or graceful than all men, but there is definitely a more sexual design to us.
Oh, I am a bi-curious married woman. Bi-curious basically means I would be interested in playing with other girls, but haven't really gotten into it and still really prefer men. Sounds like you may have similar tendencies. Perhaps you might want to consider a threesome to see if you do have any attraction to women. If you don't, well, it won't bother anyone 'cause the guy will take care of the other girl.
The most important thing, though, is not to stress over what you are feeling. It is normal. Just enjoy yourself. Exploring what is going on with your mind and body can be an exhilarating experience. Have fun with it.
I don't drink milk and I don't eat fruits [because I can't, I'm allergic, etc.] I'm really skinny, I have really fast metabolism. I eat ALL the time. What are some vitamins I can take for my hair, skin etc. Names of any you know that I can get from Kroger, Walmart, Walgreens? Anything would help. Thanks!
If you have extensive food allergies, it is best to talk to your doctor before taking any supplements. This will ensure that you don't have a reaction to the supplement. You will want to take a calcium supplement since you can't drink milk. That will be good for your bones, skin, teeth, and hair. A good multivitamin (like One a Day) is also important, but I can't stress enough that you need to check with your doctor first so you know what you can safely take.
my vagina smells bad. its not like a fish smell but its bad & not normal. i do clean with antibacterial soap but its not working. what should i do ?
Sounds like an infection. Probably nothing major, but you do need to see a doctor about it.
my eyes feel very strained like they are tired and ache but i dont know what to do. I wear glasses a lot lately because they are better for my eyes than my contacts and my school is on strike so i just sit around...lol but also i've been getting a good amount of sleep due to no school haha so i dont know whats wrong! if anyone knows why my eyes might be like this or things that will help please share!!! natural or medication! thanks so much and i will rate all the helpful posts i get!!! :)
How long have you had your current prescription for glasses? It is possible it is too outdated and your eyes have changed. The best thing to do is see your optometrist and see if you need a new prescription. That is usually what causes my eyes to ache anyway.
Also, make sure that you take frequent breaks when watching tv, using the computer, even reading.
Hope that helps!
when i wear jeans i have this fat that like hangs over the top of my jeans (some people call it cupcake fat) is there like a certain excersise that will get rid of that over tiem? im willing to try anything, it rly limits what i can wear
Here's the thing about fat: you can't spot treat it. Fat goes where your body wants it to go, regardless of type of exercise. You can firm and tone the muscles in that area all you want, but that won't necessarily get rid of the fat.
That said, a good workout with cardio, strength training, and good stretching will help burn fat everywhere while building lean muscle so you look toned when the fat goes away. Just be sure to work your whole body and get your heart rate up to about 70% of its max. Try this target heart rate calculator to see where you should work to: http://exercise.about.com/cs/fitnesstools/l/bl_THR.htm
If you take that number and divide it by 6, you can do a 10 second count to see where you are at when you are exercising. Staying in your target range will give you the maximum fat burning potential.
As for working those muscles specifically, try some of these: http://www.netfit.co.uk/abdominals-web-site.htm
Another good way to exercise is with circuit training. This gets cardio and strength training all at once. You can do this at home, as shown here: http://exercise.about.com/cs/exerciseworkouts/l/blbegcircuit.htm or you can go somewhere like Curves ( http://www.curves.com ). These work all your muscles and keep your heart rate at an ideal spot, burning fat and building muscle very effectively.
Is it dangerous to eat the same food every day?? I've been eating the same cereal every morning for breakfast for a few years. There's rumors that it can be bad for you, but I can't break the habit. Are these just rumors?? Anyone else do this?? Ideas/opinions?? Thanks!!
No. It is not dangerous. However, it isn't good for you either. So, buy a new cereal. You may find a few you like. And if you don't, that is ok. Just make sure you get a good variety of foods through the rest of your day so you get the nutrition you need. Also, get a good multivitamin to make up for anything you may be lacking.
What are some inspirational words like believe, hope, and inspire?
I'm doing a project and need some other words besides those =]
The other response to this was very good. Synonyms are useful. In fact, that would have been my first response. But, it was already taken. So, if you are looking for other words, try these:
Faith, persevere, patience, love, strength, compassion, give, charity, shine, cheer
you supposedly get your period every 28 days, is that 28 days after you get it, or 28 after it ends?
Technically, it is 28 days after the first day you get it.
However, I have yet to meet anyone that is that regular without being on a birth control pill. Even that doesn't always make a woman that regular. Every woman is different, and there are a lot of factors that can change the cycle. Stress can make you early or late, as can a change of diet or exercise.
If you think your cycle is really not normal, then you need to talk to a doctor. But if it is coming monthly, whether every 28 days or every 35 or 22 as long as it is regular for you, it is fine.
I have to make a powerpoint for my Intro. to Health class--and I was assigned the Endocrine system.
I can not find any "fun facts" I need 4.
I can find stuff on every other system except the one I need. :(
& I need to know how the endocrine works with other systems in the body, and I need at least 3 examples.
If ANYONE can help me, i'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so much!!!
What I know is that there are many problems that can happen in the endocrine system. They include things like diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome (not fun. I have it. If you want more info about that particular problem, just let me know), and hyper/hypo thyroidism.
When something goes wrong in the endocrine system, it really affects the entire body.
You can find out what hormones are produced by which parts of the endocrine system, as well as what they do, on wikipedia (go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endocrine )
