Mid-term reports came home and I'm in the 90s for all my classes but for gym which is 56%! I don't get how I could have gotten so low. I'm very bad at gym and sports but I gave it my 100% in every class and tried my best. He told us that you get 4 marks a day: 2 for wearing proper clothes and 2 for participation.

It's not low marks for the clothes because we have gym uniforms and I wear mine every day. And as I mentioned before, I always give my 100% effort and of course participate so I don't get why it's so low. This sucks, I liked the teacher a lot and I thought that I did a really good job but it seems that he doesn’t see it at all.

Is there anything I can do or should I stick with moping around? I don't think talking to him will change anything will it? Because if we go over it, I think I might burst into tears. (link)
Don't give up before you've even tried! You should talk to him. If you let it go without doing anything about it, it's going to look like you don't even care.

Don't be afraid to talk to your teacher. If you do cry, don't be embarrassed. It might actually make persuade him even more lol (not that you should MAKE yourself cry).

He said it himself, that you get the points for participation instead of how good you are, so let him know that you really tried, even though you aren't the most athletic person. Just say exactly what you just said, "I gave it 100% in every class and tried my best".

It will make a difference to him if you actually go up to him to discuss it after class. Like I said, if you do nothing, it will look like you don't care about your grade. Just muster up the courage to talk to him. It takes two seconds to change that grade. I'm sure it'll all work out!

Good luck!

I was wondering why people put their myspace friend id on their pictures...
why is this? (link)
I'm 110% sure people do this so others don't steal their pictures. This always happened to a friend of mine.. Girls would steal her pictures and claim they were her on their myspaces, but if the profile ID in the photo and the profile ID in the address of the fakers' profile don't match, then you can tell that that person is a poser.

i have my prom coming up in 2 weeks & a day i just cuts my nails yesterday because they were horrendous not realizing prom is 2 weeks away being stupid.. but now i want them to grow really long are there any ways i can do this in 2 weeks ? help ASAP! (link)
There's this nail polish by Sally Hansen called Nailgrowth Miracle Salon strength:

http://www.sallyhansen.com/product.cfm?product=111

You can get it at any drugstore. It's always worked amazing for me!! I used to bite my nails lol this always worked really fast.

You can also eat healthy foods that promote nail and hair growth, like protein and leafy greens.

Other than that, be very delicate with your nails by avoiding putting too much strain on them to prevent them from getting weak and breaking.

If you still can, make an appointment at a nail salon to get acrylics put on. They last pretty long so it's not like you have to get them done the day before.

have fun at prom!

I sometimes get cat calls, or get honked at or looked at. i was wondering, what is the best way to react to it? I always just keep walking, pretending i didn't hear it. I don't get flattered by any of this because i know guys would do this to any girl they see pass by...right? how do you usually react when this happens to you? am i reacting the way they want me to? (link)
That happens to me alll the time. Just ignore it, or give a slight smile if you don't want to be rude. But don't act immature and giggle because this may give guys the wrong idea that you like it. It will seem like wanted attention. DON'T however, say something rude back because this could upset them. You never know how strangers will react. They could have bad tempers or do something to harm you.. you never know.

thank you so much for your help on my question here: http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=537494

"i started puberty when i was 9 and am 17/f now. when would it be okay to have corrective surgery/plastic surgery done on the face to fix my jaw? when do my bones stop growing?"

"They almost always refuse to do surgery when you're under 18. Anyways, I believe you reach your official height at like 21, but your face is always changing. My sister looks VERY different now than she did when she was in high school (from 18 to 30 years old).

Surgery on your jaw IS possible, but VERY VERY PAINFUL. They shave down your jaw bone. I've seen it on a plastic surgery show where a man was getting surgery to be more feminine. It looked so painful but if that's what you choose to do it's your choice, your body. But I definitely think you should wait until your at least 25."

i have a question on your answer. eek yeah but the guy had drugs when he got the surgery, right? do you mean like it will hurt post-surgery too?

do you know what happens after surgery? like do people have to wear a mask thingy for a month after or something?

25 sounds like a good age. hmm.

thank you again!! =) (link)
Your welcome!

ANY kind post-surgery hurts, no matter what. After the drugs die down, you experience a lot of swelling. You are prescribed painkillers, but you can only take them so much.

After oral surgery, the mouth must be cleaned with provided mouth wash solution. Some surgeons want you to not eat anything for 24 hours, while others feel that eating is fine.
· A one night hospital stay is generally required
· The face will become moderately swollen and may become black and blue
· Return to usual activities in approximately one week
· It may take four to six weeks before the improved contour becomes obvious

Here is the site I got it from which explains more:

okay so maybe i am looking too much into this one. But a long time ago i told this guy i liked him and i pretty much scared him off and he told me he was gay (such a lie). And now like i notice he will look at me when before he wanted nothing to do with me. And now he will actually watch me. I sort of get weirded out because he never has wanted anything, and i mean ANYTHING to do with me. he avoided me. And like this morning he talked to me and was like "how are you feeling about barnbash" and my friend was like "its a barn" and i said "very very great very great" and he was looking at me...

so what could come of this?? i mean seriously isnt it a little weird that he is doing all of this now?? maybe i am looking too much into it. I dont know what do you think?? (link)
Does he look at you like he's interested? Like he has a crush on you? You make is seem a little creepy..

Well, I guarantee you that he's changed his mind because something about you has changed.. something that is attracting him.

1) Maybe he heard something about you.
It could be good OR bad. Like he's heard good things about you and he's re-evaluating whether or not he should try to get with you, or maybe he's found that you have things in common. However, he could have heard some bad gossip about you and wants to know for himself. People are weird like that. It's kind of like how people are addicted to tabloids; it's always BAD gossip, but people love to read about it.

2) Did you change, lookswise? Like your hair, makeup, the way you dress? You said you liked him a long time ago, so I'm sure you've changed and look different since then.

I have a really strong reason that it's the second one. You probably got really pretty since then and now he wants a piece of you. haha but I really think that's why. He regrets ignoring you before so now he's keeps trying to talk to you because he thinks your hot. I swear!

See what your friends think. Other people can really tell if another guy's digging you. Other people are better judges at that.. it's harder to tell when you are the person. So ask your friends, or have them ask his friends.

This has happened to me a lot.. Guys would never look at me, but in high school I got really hot and they damn sure regretted it lol. It happens..

Well good luck!

is it normal to get a zit on your vagina??

cause like i had this spot yesterday and i squeezed it and it kinda popped and bloodish greenish stuff came out. and the bump went down. But now it is like a small bump and red. i havent had sex before. but it is on the top like next to my left leg. (link)
Yes, that's perfectly normal and nothing to be worried about. Are you shaving down there? Because most of the time it's caused by an ingrown hair. I wouldn't be surprised if you see a hair in the pimple after you popped it. If you don't it's nothing to worry about. It's still a pimple, just in a different place, ya know?

Anyways, having sex doesn't cause acne down there. If you thought you had some kind of STD, it would be more like a painful or itchy sore (herpes). But like I said, a zit is still a zit no matter where it ends up.

does anyone know a realllly really good concealer or cover up the covers up under eye bags? im 16/f and i have hereditery eye bags so no cream gets rid of it, ive tried the best of the best. and i get a lot of sleep and drink tons of water, so nothing like that works. so i was wondering if you had any tips or any good cover ups for me, thanks in advance! (link)
MAC CONCEALER SELECT COVER-UP

http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY15106&PRODUCT_ID=PROD1407

There should be a MAC inside of your local Nordstroms's or Macy's in the makeup floor (along with the perfumes). When the makeup artist approaches you, just tell them you need a concealer to cover up your under eyes and they'll find the right color for you. They usually get it right on the first try... Amazing!!

I think I have an Anxiety Disorder. Or something alot the lines of that. I come home from school & I start replaying in my mind whatever happened that day & if there's even ONE single thing that I think I said wrong, I start panicking. After a minute or two, I start sweating & shaking. Then it feels like I'm about to faint or something, & I have to sit down. & I constantly feel guilty for no reason at all. This happens EVERY single day, & it has for about a year or two now. & this doesn't seem to happen to anyone I know. Does it sound like anxiety? If it's not some anxiety disorder or something, then what is it?

I really think I need to do something about it, but I don't know how to tell my mom cause I don't know if she'll take me seriously or not and I don't want her telling every single person she knows about it too. Any suggestions? (link)
Everyone experiences worry and anxiety, but in my opinion, I DO believe you have an anxiety disorder. In any other case, I'd say you were just a worrysome person. HOWEVER, what separates you from the average worrier is that you experience episodes EVERY day.

Anxiety disorders are one of the most prevalent disorders today (second next to depression). It is defined as distressing, persistent, anxiety or maladaptive behaviors that reduce anxiety.

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is the experience of almost constant and exaggerated worry. When worry becomes constant and exaggerated so you find yourself worrying about everything, it causes you to stress and impairs your ability to do things.

If untreated, you can suffer from ulcers, high blood pressure, breakouts, etc.

I think you should inform your mom of your situation. Emphasize how serious this is because of how frequent it occurs (i.e., you have it EVERY DAY for YEARS). Or you could tell your school counselor.

Until then try these when you get an attack or just whenever in the day:

- Practice deep breathing. Take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
- Do exercise or physical activity. personally, this is a veryyy good stress reliever for me. It's a fact that exercise increases the release of endorphines (the chemical substance that makes you feel happy and exhilarated).
- Have an outlet, whether it is writing in a journal, talking to a friend, singing, or any kind of hobby.
- If you want, you can try yoga. It helps you to control your breathing, increase blood circulation, meditate, and improve flexibility. I used to think it was stupid, but that totally changed once I tried. I'll put it this way: it makes you feel extremely relaxed and rejuvenated.

Good luck to you and I hope this problem is resolved!

im a 17/f and i was wondering how do people get back muscle so that it shows. like what kind of exercises do u have to do? (link)
If you are talking about your lats (lattimus dorsi), there are two kinds of lats:

The outboard lats run from the armpit down to the small of the back. They are used to pull the shoulders downward; they also assist in pulling the elbows in towards the sides.

The upper lats which run from the armpit to the spine—in the area under the shoulders—are used to pull the shoulders back and also to swing the elbows outward.

To work these you would do lat pulldowns (it's a machine at the gym). Pull-ups would also work for your lats.
Basically, wide-grip movements will primarily hit the upper lats. This is also pretty much the case with bent rowing (barbell or dumbbell) or seated rowing.

On the other hand, close-grip overhead work will primarily hit the outboard lats; this is particularly true when you use an undergrip or palms up grip.

Here's a pic of the muscles I'm talking about:
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/musclesurf/lats-guy.gif

If you want to work your lower back or spinal erectors, try doing stabilizers AKA tabletops or coffee table. Think pushup position here, except your body weight should be resting on your forearms instead of your hands. Push your body to the "up" position, tighten your stomach, and keep your shoulders, back, buttocks, and heels in a straight line. Now hold (30 seconds to a minute). This is one of the best exercises for your core (abs and back).

what, and when is the best way to off yourself, like the fastest and easiest (without a gun cuz i don't have one) i've tried almost everyway (but a gun obviously) but i always get caught in the act please help me. even just telling me household items to mix for instantaineous death (sorry can't spell) and don't try to talk me out of it my whole life people had tried to talk me out of it and it makes no sense i have nothing going for me everything sucks my family hates and abuses me, i have no friends, my soccer team sucks, i suck, please help (link)
In addition to what everyone below me has said, when you die, you don't feel anything... Wouldn't you rather be happy than not feel anything at all? Everyone feels a little down sometimes. I was very depressed when I was a teenager, but now I am so happy and positive. I'm very thankful for the life I have. You really have to just wait it out and think positive. I guarantee you that years from now you will think, "What in the world was I thinking?"

The fact that you are on a computer with internet shows me that you are a very privileged person. Think of the children around the world who live in poverty, who never knew who their family was, has no shoes and only eats when they can FIND food on the streets, or the children who are sex slaves or sweatshop slaves. Its hard to imagine because you have never seen it, but you have to think about it...

Anyways, the chances of succeeding in suicide are very very low. YOU WILL REGRET IT. You hear about people who failed suicide, but never about their life after failing. Life after a failed attempt is MUCH worse than life before it.

It's almost impossible to die from sleeping pills or cleaning products because they simply just don't kill you, but they DO fry your kidneys and give you all sorts of physical problems that you will regret. You will wake up in a hospital, strapped to a bed under full watch. You'll probably be put in therapy for a while or maybe a psych ward for a little bit. You put yourself in a situation where you've pretty much abandoned all freedom. Is that what you really want? You will make life worse for yourself.

I think you just need someone to talk to, a friend. Right now it's all hormones, but trust me, when you grow up, you don't feel like that anymore. You grow out of it. Suicide is a very selfish act. It's ironic that you do it for yourself, but it's also harmful. If you're going to do something for yourself, you should be doing something positive, like rewarding yourself and feeling good. It's okay to feel confident and cocky sometimes.

Trust me, things will get better the longer you stick around. Things never stay the same. You won't be the same person right now as you would five years from now. Nobody is!

i didnt know what category to put this under.
1.does getting your belly button pierced hurt?
2.does it hurt more if you have a little thicker skin where it is supposed to be pierced
3.will i pass out after it
4.will i actually be nervous with the needle and stuff
+++I used to be deathly afraid of needles but i am pretty good now
+++++I have had my cartilage pierced with the gun and it did not hurt me at all really and i was not scared before it. but after it i did feel dizzy and lightheaded and had to sit down (link)
The clamps hurt WAY worse than anything. it's really tight, but this is good because you don't feel pain when the needle goes through. The needle doesn't hurt, it just feels uncomfortable. Anyways, it's a pretty quick process.

Thickness of the skin does not affect how much it hurts. It really depends on your pain threshold.

If you are usually prone to fainting, you might pass out. Make sure you eat something a few hours before you go get pierced and that you've had a shower and clean clothes that day to prevent infection.

I was a bit nervous, but you just have to breathe. I didn't even look at ALL during the entire thing. Anyways, the piercer will tell you to take a big breath in, then exhale. When you exhale, they put the needle through so it doesn't hurt that bad.

I think you'll be totally fine. It's very quick. Just don't look if you're afraid.

Hi there.

Prom is on Saturday and I'm going in a limo with about 5 other couples and my single friend is coming with us too. She doesn't know anyone in the limo and neither do I, so I feel comfortable her coming. She's not like a really good friend of mine, I've only known her a few weeks.

Anyways, my boyfriend and her have been texting about prom just talking about what we're going to be doing and stuff. When I was looking on his phone I saw that he texted her saying, "What kind of dress are you going to get, I bet you're going to look real pretty!" and "I wouldn't mine escorting two FINE ass ladies to prom." He's MY boyfriend. Is that okay that he's talking to her like that? Because in my eyes it's not when I don't really know her that well.

Thanks. (link)
Personally, I don't think that's okay at all. Flirting can lead to other things...

Regardless of how well you know her, it's still not okay. You should bring it up to him. If he gets upset at you, that's not a good sign. What he should do is apologize, but if he doesn't, you should question how much you should trust him.

I just think what he did is really shady, like he's trying to get another girl on the side.

Don't completely lose faith in him, but DO keep your eyes open and watch him.

help!!! i don know how 2 dance!!!!! at all!!! no grindin and no hiphop nothin!!!! (link)
I used to be like that too awhh...

When I'm at home, I like to put some music on and just practice in front of the mirror. LOTS of girls do that! Maybe if your friends are over you guys should just dance or they could show you some moves.

Watch some music videos and copy what the girls do (but do what you feel comfortable with, I know some of it can be really raunchy). There are also videos on youtube that teach you how to do a specific dance (soulja boy, walk it out, hip roll, etc).

But seriously, it's all about modeling what others do. When your at a dance or club, just look around and see what other girls are doing, change it up to make it your own, and go from there.

The most important thing is to be CONFIDENT. It will really show if you're insecure. Just be comfortable with yourself. Do what feels right and it'll come naturally. Just keep moving your hips to the beat. Really, it comes naturally, you jsut have to relax and let yourself go, and practice a bit when your at home.

Alright, I'm well aware that teens go through different confusing stages. They're unsure of themselves, they get depressed..blah blah. But what if I actually thought I had some kind of mental disease? What if I read about it and found the symptoms to be true in my case.? Like..I've found myself to be bulimic, depressed, anxious..all those things. But how can I tell if it's true or not and not just one of those "teen" things. Because my mother won't even listen. She brushes it off and says its just another teen emotion and stage.
Any advicee? I'm 16/f by the way. (link)
I felt that way too when I was that age. It's called teen angst lol and everyone goes through it. It seems like 90% of people on this site are on it lol.. When I studied specific mental and emotional disorders, you learn that almost everyone has symptoms of a certain illness, but that doesn't mean they have the disorder. Like, lots of people are afraid of germs, but they all aren't classified as having OCD.

***Things are only classified as disorders or problems when they affect your everyday life***

If it prevents you from everyday functioning (eating correctly, jeopardizing your health, work, school, not being able to leave the house) or to the point where it is seriously threatening your life, THEN it is considered a problem.

For example, like I said before, most people are afraid of germs. But with people who have OCD, their entire lives fall into ruins. they can't even leave the house and lose their jobs, or they wash their hands 200 times a day to the point where their skin is raw.

Anyways, I'm sorry your mom isn't being supportive. You should talk to someone you feel comfortable with, like a close friend, relative or counselor if you choose to.

I'm a huge fan of Lil Wayne, and I have a lot of his songs, but is there like anywhere I can find a complete list of all his songs + albums titles theyre on?
Wikipedia isn't too helpful in this caseee
thanks :) (link)
here you go:

http://www.google.com/musica?aid=SspH2AqxD7D

If that link doesn't work, go to google and type in lil wayne. At the top of the page, under the google search bar, there are a bunch of links that say " Web Video Music Images ". just click on music and is has his discography.

P.S. I love wayne too =P I want to have his babies haha

I just can't study or get anything into my head when there's music on. I listen to music a lot but not when I'm studying. My sister always cranks the music up and it drives me nuts because she says it helps her study. but sometimes she gets low marks so I kind of doubt it.

Does music help you study? (link)
This really varies from person to person.

Personally, I CAN NOT study when there's too much sound or music. It distracts me. It's not like I want to listen to it, but it throws my focus off; I just can't get anything done and I end up getting frustrated.

Unlike some of my friends.. they can NOT study if it's too quiet. They need some type of music on.

im very active, cheerleading and track most all year round. i say that i get exercise 5 days a week and on weekends at times. i have spider veins on my calf and a few on my high thy. i dont know why becuase we learned in biology its from inactivity but thats not my problem. everytime i look their seems to be more! its nasty, any advice? (link)
Caused by inactivity? I have NEVER heard of that.. I've known girls on my track team who have spider veins, so I know it's not from lack of exercise. It's pretty common.

anyways, I know that the most common reason is because it's genetic.

If you want to treat it, you can get sclerotherapy: "This is the most common treatment for both spider veins and varicose veins. The doctor injects a solution into the vein that causes the vein walls to swell, stick together, and seal shut. This stops the flow of blood and the vein turns into scar tissue. In a few weeks, the vein should fade. The same vein may need to be treated more than once. This treatment is very effective if done the right way. Most patients can expect a 50% to 90% improvement."

I know that older women can also get surgery on them too.

Here are sites explaining more:

I was having really bad problems with a certain class so my friend (who's a grade higher than me) gave me her tests from the same class from that year (same class, different teacher). Well I was looking through some of her tests and realized that her teacher gave out the exact same test (that I have done) and quizzes that we've done!

Our big unit test is coming up and I've been studying really hard and never looked at her tests yet because I don't think that it's fair to my classmates that I get a sneak peak but my friend told me that what's the point of my friend gaving me the tests then if I don't look at them?

What's your advice and opinion on this? Maybe I should look once only and study really hard? Or would you consider that cheating? I'd probably forget everything that I glanced on the test so maybe it's just a very good way to narrow down my studying to mroe specific areas? Thanks (link)
If I were you, I'd use it more like a study guide or practice test. Cover up the answers and just look at the questions, or even rewrite the questions on your computer and take it as if it were the test. That way, you can see which type of problems or subjects you are having trouble with. Review those sections in your notes or book. Then, you can compare your answers to the test to see if you did them correctly and work from there.

In my opinion, I don't see it as cheating; I see it as an "advantage". Now, if you were to just memorize all the answers, THAT'S when I would consider it cheating.

You should really try taking as a practice test. You need to learn how to do it in the long run anyways, right? Like for your final exam.
