This is a question for teenage girls. My daughter and I have always been very close. She's always been very open with me and willing to share things about school, friends, boys, etc. Now that she's 13, though, things have changed some. Sometimes I can tell she's upset about something, but when I ask her what's wrong, she doesn't want to talk about it. I realize this is normal, that she wants some privacy and doesn't need her mom butting in on everything. But I also know it sometimes helps to talk about things instead of keeping them inside. I want her to know that I'm here for her and that she can tell me anything. Should I keep trying to get her to talk, or should I just leave her alone and hope she'll open up if she needs me?
your right she shouldnt keep things to herself but no offense but a mom isnt the best person to go to. counceling wouldnt help because its just telling her that you want that information even if it means getting a total stranger to get it out of you. be patient. encourage your daughter to go to her friends house. kids will tell their friends the secrets and whats troubling them more. DO NOT get too invasive. like go around her room searching for more info. thats the WORSE possible thing to do. if its troubling your daughter that much she'll crack on her own. just watch to see for any unfamiliar or even scary behavior.
My boyfriend and I just bought a new home and we had a housewarming party over the weekend. We had a friend named john and a niehgbor we never met before hanging out touching, groping, problem is they are both married. His wife was at home with the kids, and he went to the neighbors house and slept with her. My boyfriend and I were stunned. well the truth is some men have that little somthing inside them that makes them want to do stupid things. just thankful you found a good one. i think you need to tell the wife. but do it privately. talk to the guy and the woman who cheated (seperately). you should tell how you feel about this whole thing. and yah sure the guy has been sober but who cares. if people just went around doing bad things and then acting sober that shouldnt replace what they did. sober just means their sorry but still needs to be punished. he wasnt sober when he was sleeping around! and that slut needs a big talk to. tell her that she messed up a relationship thats been good for 10 years. and dont be afraind to get harsh. their both adults they can take it
I started dating this guy a little over two weeks ago and it's been pretty hot and heavy. He's really awesome and I like him a lot. He's leaving tomorrow to go work in California for 2 months to make money. I've known about this since I met him, so it's not a big deal. Well, not until today.
His family had a little party today and my family was invited. Well, one of his friends was there hanging with us. He was really awkward and detached and I felt like I was at some random person's party imposing on them and their friends. There was like a 5 minute period where he actually treated me like his girlfriend and otherwise it was like I was just another one of his friends.
Again, he's leaving for 2 months. When I left the party all he did was give me this awkward sideways hug that isn't even intimate enough for FRIENDS. It wasn't even a real goodbye. I was really shocked about how he acted. He was so different and it pissed me off and hurt a little bit that I was just...there.
It's not like I wanted us to sit there making out in front of everyone, but some affection would've been nice. We're really close normally. We've done a lot together in such a short period of time and last night he told me LOVED me. That's not how you treat someone you love, that's for sure.
I sent him a message on MySpace telling him by and to have fun and I'm intending to leave it like that and let him make a move to call me if he wants to. I feel like a big baby and like I'm overreacting, but it just seemed so rude and just...awful. I don't know how to feel.
Am I overreacting? Is letting him make the next move a good idea? What should I do? Any advice would be great.
well your definately right. thats not how someone treats you if they love you. im guessing theres a little comunication problems in this relation. its not like your bf can guess what your feeling. you need to tell him and maybe even make the mooves yorself. it sound like your bf is busy going places so hes probabally preoccupied with what he needs to do. as for the party he needed that time with his friends. your his girl so he probabally planned on calling and messaging you alot over the time he was gone. that little goodbye hug he gave you wasnt all that special i agree with you but he might be hurting deep down.some people just hurt in different ways. some do long embracing with kisses. but some like to be tough and stick it and have a little contact before they break it all down.

I don't personally wear abercrombie or hollister, because i know longer like it. mostly because, loser people pushed me away from it. they told me that i was being a follower, and that i should get my own taste in fashion. well, that was my taste in fashion. i actually liked it. i wasn't just following the crowd. and now, that i dont shop there. im like lost, i never know where to go. and thats not fair, that they always bugged me about it. and i even see like, on here, where people say that if you buy that stuff, then you dont know what fashion is, and your not grown up because you cant get your own opinion on things. well isnt that kinda being judgemental? i mean, not everyone is just following the crowd. i dont understand why some people make such a big deal out of it. i mean, why cant people just wear whatver they want? its just clothing? why dont those people just care about themselves? and worry whats going on with them?

well abrecrombre is preppy wear so most likely preppy people told you that.they werent being nice or fair and you are so right. but thats not a good reason to stop wearing those clothes. even tho i see why you did. the could be jealous and think that there the only ones to wear those clothes. i personaly dont wear abrocrombre (i dont like it) but sweetsz do whatever you want. and if your friends dont like it then its their personal problem and you should get new friends

ok so its your first date. the easiest place is the movies. since the relatonship is new you might want a place with no talking but still snuggle with you bf. or if you take things fast then a nice dinner. its more romantic and sophisticated. (movies are better) if you want to kiss the boy then go for it. hugging is cute and easy but still affectionate. a perfect little reminder that you missed him. hug him whenever you see him!

so i know this kid and we'll call him tom. tom flirts with me a lot. he desont try to make it subtle or anything, either. he gets in my face and tells me that we're going to date one day, and he's going to kiss me, and hugs me every chance he gets. im not a flirty person, and as much as i actually like tom's advances, it;s hard for me to flirt back, especially when people are watching. i mostly end up laughing it off and backing away. last weekend though we were at a party and i told him to stop. i was laughing when i said it, and it's not like its the first time ive ever said it, either. i was jsut nervous because he was telling everyone how i liked him and wouldnt admit it and everyone was looking at me. so after i told him to stop, he backed off. he seriously backed off. like he ihgnored me for the rest of the day until we left at around 9, and then he asked for a hug. he hugged me for a good five or six seconds but he was no where near as flirty as he usually is.
then i went to my friends house at about 1 my friend got on myspace (duhh) and he messaged me asking her asking us to come to his house because its the next street over. we said no and he promised not to touch me. we still said no. i really just didnt want to because i was ready for bed. he was being really overly nice about me and he usually likes to tease me.
i think im bothered that he isn't focusing all his attention on me, and i know thats shitty because i didnt treat him all that well when he did.

I am sick of using liquid foundation because it's too thick & gross, but my skin isn't that great to go without it (or with just powder alone). I was told to use a tinted moisturizer instead of liquid foundation. Can anyone suggest a good brand that's not too icky & still does a pretty good at covering up?
