Advicenators: Ask lorelei!

Hi, I'm Lorelei. I live with my mother, my older sister and my grandmother.
I travel a lot but I'm never a tourist. ;) My mother owns property all over the country and I'm extremely lucky to feel at home in so many different places. It's a lot of fun and I get to see a lot of things and meet a lot of people.
Shopping always seems to be better away from home too.
I'm very fashion-minded and stylish, spontaneous and energetic, dorky and giggly. I enjoy having a good time. Almost too much. I party every chance I get. I do drink but I do so responsibly and you should too.
I'm very young but the year 2003 caused me to learn more about who I am than some people get to learn about themselves in an entire lifetime. Ever since I've made it a point to share what I've learned with everyone possible. Ask and I'll do my best to answer.

how do u loose the flab in ur legs? besides running, because that just seems to make mine musclier (and bigger) so if you have any good leg workouts that would help~thatd be great!!

Honestly, walking. I do a lot more walking than I used to and I've noticed a big difference in my legs and thighs.

ok yesterday i wore a long sleve shirt to school and forgot to put deoderant on(whoops) i by acident reached up and he saw my sweaty arm pits i was and still am so imbarrased!! I dont want him to like break up with me or anything b/c of them..would u do that to ur girl friend or boy friend??????

Oh god, if he breaks up with you for something like that, he wasn't worth it in the first place! I wouldn't worry about it. I know I've done that at least once before.

Another thing that seems like it might be a concern; the fact that you aren't comfortable enough around him to admit you forgot to put on deodorant. If you care about him, and you know he cares about you, you shouldn't feel worried. I know I can't picture myself feeling embarassed around my boyfriend, because, well, he's my boyfriend. Perhaps there might be some underlying comfort issues there.

Anyway, sorry for going off. But, again, don't worry about it. :) People sweat. It's natural. If he breaks up with you because of it, you're better off.

ok does anybody know of any deoderant that works really well??? that like doesn't make u sweat at all...... i rate good!! please help!!

when i was younger, i had really bad sweat problems. this helped tons.

you can also speak to a doctor about it. i do believe your doctor can recommend a really strong anti-perspirant.

My friend has this bad problem with flirting with people and not even realizing that she's flirting with them. For example, she told my boyfriend that she thought he was cute, started giggling, and blushed. My boyfriend was rather...irritated...by this, as he can not stand my friend. Whenever I confront her about it, she swears to God she hasn't flirted. How can I get her to see that she really has a problem with this? It just irritates me to see her flirting with my boyfriend. x_x Please help?

Sorry, but you don't say something like that to someone and not realize it's flirting. It sounds like she's just making excuses.

I wouldn't worry about her and your boyfriend. He doesn't like her she probably only flirts with him because she enjoys attention.

People like that seriously crave attention from the opposite sex. There are a lot of women who feel incomplete unless they're being complimented by or being flirted with by a guy.

There's really nothing you can do about it because that is just her personality, but you can ask her to chill out. Express to her how much it bothers you that she's making a move on your boyfriend. If she does it again, it might be time to re-think hanging out with her.

I did it by creating a new style, but that was back before creating your own styles was available to everyone.
If you can create your own style, simply create one based on one of the pre-set layouts you like, and change the text in the appropriate entry boxes.

What does the term i.e. mean? Does it mean something like "For example"? I'm not sure. If you could help me out that'd be great.

Sorry, but every one of these people is wrong. WTF.

E.G. means "for example" and E.G. is the initials of the latin term exempli gratia.

I.E. stands for "id est" and it means in effect or in other words.

So just remember e.g. is "example given" and i.e. is "in effect".

Please help me if you would. I have a big time problem, I have had a headache for a week, It is not like any normal headache. It's like KILLER PAIN. I have been to the doctor, he put me on a few pain medicines. Nothing is helping what so ever. I also have a blisters in my throat, and a red rash is spreading over it. Today I noticed that I am getting black spots in my mouth now. Could it be a brain tumor? What else? Im getting VERY scared. my mom and dad r seperated and i got into a fight with my dad one weekend (every other weekend)and he said he didnt want me to come back.... why does he hate me... what did i ever do to him?! I used to be hhis pride and joy.... what happened???

I'm sure your father still loves you. You're his child. Sometimes, people (not just parents) will say things out of anger that they don't mean. Not only that, but most kids begin to feel alienated from their parents and family as they get older.

Give him a call and talk to him. Act like your normal self, and casually bring up the fight in conversation. He'll probably be ready to talk about it too.

Im 15, and i recently met this guy who is 20. Hes so sweet to me and we hang out all the time. We're not going out, but he acts as if we were, he even kissed me before he left for vacation.I know its not socially acceptable to be going out with a guy this much older, but it feels so right to me! im in love with him. Do you think its wrong?

I think that as long as you're happy, there is nothing wrong. I've always dated older guys. A lot of girls choose to date older guys.

The only thing I can tell you is to be careful. There are a lot of guys who feel they can take advantage of young girls whom they see as naive. Don't let him pressure you into doing something you're not comfortable with, no matter how charming and sweet he may be. And try not to let what other people might say get to you.

Remember that no matter what you do in life, there will be naysayers. Keep your head up. Do what makes you happy. :)

I agree, the best thing to do is to talk to them. Perhaps they feel like you don't want to hang out with them anymore. Ask them if they want to hang out some time and see what they say.

There is a school dance tonight and i'm not sure if i should go!! i want to but there are these girls who are mean and i'm afraid they might try to pick a fight with me tonight! Should i go? and if i go and they confront me what should i do? what should i say?

I say you should go. People like that enjoy thinking they can intimidate you. Show you're not afraid by showing up with a huge smile on your face. :)

But I would try avoiding them if you could while you are there. If things get hairy, try telling a chaperone. Fighting is not cool and it'll just get you in trouble.

hey well start it off im 13-m. ok well about how hard would it be to find a girl that is like only interested in sex after marriage for dating material? because seems like everywhere i look on here, theirs a pregnant girl or one worried about it. i'm just talking about like later in my life, in my twenties right out of college. just to be prepared. also, i was reading a book, and a guy asked the girl if she was a virgin, and she said that she wasnt even embarrased. so are you like supposed to be embarrassed if your a virgin?

There are lots of girls who are still interested in waiting. It's all about having patience in your search.

And no, you shouldn't be embarassed to tell someone you're a virgin. Sex is not a big deal. Nine times out of ten, someone who makes a big deal about losing his/her virignity is lying about having lost it in the first place.

Keep your chin up and stick to your morals. You're one in a million, hon. :)

When you go into a tanning booth is there anything you can use ( like sunscreen ) that protects you but still lets you get tanned ?

I actually work for a tanning salon so... :P

Tanning oil doesn't make your skin tan more easily or make it more susceptible to damage. It just works like sunscreen but allows you to tan more easily than if you were to use sunscreen.

If you can avoid using tanning beds that use light, please do so. If your salon offers all over spraying, by all means, use it.

How do you keep your eyeliner straight when you do the "eyeliner tears"? (ex. Benji from Good Charlotte)

When you do your make-up, do it at a make-up table so you have something to rest your elbow on. That'll help keep your arm steady. You could also try cutting out a stencil from card stock or an index card. :)
