advice
okay so i take a lot of kick boxing/boxing classes at my gym so i know how to punch/kick pretty well
but im just interested in how to learn how to defend myself if i was against another person or something
i dont wanna pay for like karate lessons or anything
so i was wondering if someone could show me something online or youtube or among that sort of thing
or if you know any steps yourself
like how to block yourself if someone was going to punch at your face and etc

my eyes tend to get big when i put my contacts in .. idk why? but i hate them big! i heard that if you put eyeliner on they get smaller .. true story? any tips?
It is true. If you put black eyeliner in the inside of ur eye (outside makes it look bigger), it makes your eyes look a little smaller. I use avon eyeliner but ive been meaning to try MAC. I dont think any other products can help. Just pretend like you like it, and people will not notice ur insecurity and like it too.
how long do you have to be doing it for/how often for your voice to become lower? im a singer and have been smoking about 3 months and have already noticed a difference..maybe Im imagining it? Also, if your voice does become lower, can you change that?
I think you start noticing almost instantly. You might not be imagining it. But you can change that if you quit. Idina Menzel(Broadway superstar) used to smoke when she played in RENT in the 90s. Notice her voice was very low (I didnt like it). Youtube it. Then youtube her in wicked. She quit for the role and played very high notes. (She won a Tony for it). With proper training, you can get your voice back to how it was, if not, better.

Hi,I'm 15, male and very shy. I like this girl in my class and I think she likes me back because i caught her staring at me serveral times and i some time stare back at her but I'm still not convinced that she likes me to ask her. what should I do?
I think you should start flirting with her. If you think she likes you, then later on, go for it. Ask her out. If anything, ask her to go out with your friends at first so it wont be so weird. But remember, most girls wait for the guy to make the first move. I know that guys can be just as shy as most girls but thats the way life is. Either way, what is the worst that could happen? That she says no? O well, then you'll move on. But at least you wont be wondering what could have happened if you had made a move.

I woke up with a cold sore (bottom lip) this morning...I hardly ever get them, maybe once a year max., usually in the winter. Does anyone know of any gel or cream that treats cold sores fast? I know that Blistex helps alleviate the pain, but what works best to actually treat the cold sore?
I hate those. I get them in the winter too. I think it's the change in weather. I use vaseline(I think I spelled it wrong). But you can go to any CVS, etc and pick up medicine for it. Look for it. It will say that it treats cold sores. Keep your lips moist with either the medicine or chapstick. DO NOT lick your lips, take the cold sore off, or put lip gloss on. It will only make things worse. It should go away in about a week or less. Good luck. Lol. I'm still waiting for mine. I hope i dont get it this year. :)
I recently got Diagnosed (sp?) with an std that I wont ever be able to get rid of. I was wondering if you guys new of any sites online where people can talk about these things.
Sense I found out I have felt completely hopeless and I just feel like giving up but I cant do that to my parents.

my throat has been overly swallon, for years
tehy almost touch..and if i get a bit of a cold they touch completely and then ihave trouble eating and drinking
so, yesterday i noticed my throat was bothering me, but i used to get so many probelms with my tounsils it didn't flatter me until they felt werid..i looked in teh mirror to discover tehy were shruken, alot with holes in them,adn one even has skin hanging off of it..and randomly little white pointy things?

Yes, that has happened to me. And I had my tonsils removed. When you go to the doc. he/she will tell you exactly what to do. The operation was simple though. It hurt a lot afterwards though. But I think it was worth it because my throat used to hurt a lot. Now it hardly hurts (even though I have a cold and it hurts right now;still its not nearly as bad as it used to be)

I want to go to university in the states, I live in europe. I found a school and it seemed perfect for me. It was my 1st choice of colleges! I got all exited and dove right in the application process. Now I have all the papers and i can send it...however, I'm not sure anymore. My friend gave me this website, www.studentsreview.com and there students give their honest opinions on their college or university. So I checked my school out that I was appliying for and people said it sucked! It was a shock, it seemed like such a great school. There where a few possitive reviews but the majority was negative... Should i still apply or should i take the reviews to consideration....???!?!?
Well, it all depends on your point of view. Many people have different views in their schools. Some hate it, some love it. It just depends on how involved they are or how determined. Dont remove off that school completely from your head. Apply, and if you can, visit it before you take any serious actions. Applying is nothing serious. It doesnt hurt to try to get in. Im going to apply for NYU just for the hell of it because that is my dream school. I doubt I can afford it though. BTW, what school is it?

I hate it when that happens to me. Its really annoying. What I do, is hide my top friends. I cant give you the link because my friend does it for me. But go on yahoo and type "Hide top friends in myspace" and it will come out. If anything, just be straight foward with her or just smile and say "O really? You arent? Well i get really shy around guys i like and i'm wondering if there are any ways i could try and become less shy because when i talk to a guy i like i find that i have nothing to say so it's awkward. You and I both. Hehe. I think it's that we are afraid of letting guys into our lives? No idea. Just next time you see a guy, forget that he is a guy. Just treat him like you treat your other friends. After all, he is a normal human being. And about never kissing a guy, its perfectly normal. I know lots of girls who have never kissed a boy. Although I'm only 16, I have also never kissed a boy. I have some pretty large lumps in one of my boobs. It's hard and I only noticed it today, though I've been having breast pain/soreness for the past week or so. I'm also late on my period, though it's only by a few days.
I know that I'm young so it's probably nothing. But is there anything that this could potentially be, and should I get it checked out?
Ok, first of all, do not stress out by this. It's probably nothing since you are 14. You are at an age where your breasts are developing, which may cause soreness and sometimes lumps. Just to be on the safe side, I do recommend going to a doctor and seeking help. But here is a website where you can also do a self exam. (Doctors are better though). You should do this one every few months.
