I've heard that many vegetarians become sick after not eating meat for a long period of time.
What sicknesses do they get and what are the symptoms.?
Thankyou. (link)
|
When you're converting to vegetarianism you have to do your research (which most people don't). When you don't eat red meat, you don't get iron. Iron is an essential nutrient. The mistake most people make is not getting a substitute for it.
If you have low iron you become anemic. As long as you find this nutrient somewhere else (other foods or vitamin supplements) then you will become very sluggish, VERY TIRED and noticeably lose energy.

why do i hold onto things longer than i should?
and wait it out hoping for something to change,
but when it comes down to it,
all im doing is hurting myself. (link)
|
You can't always just sit back and wait for things to change. Sometimes you have to actually DO something about it or else situation will go nowhere. It definitely won't go forward; it'll either remain the same or even bring you two steps back.
I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to, but if you are saying that you are waiting on someone, sometimes it's best to just let that person go. Close that chapter in your life if the relationship's already run its course.
I'm no therapist, but it also seems like you are holding on because you are too forgiving. Like you may trust this person and have such high hopes, only to be let down again because you are living in the past. You keep getting hurt because you are hoping for something that's not even there anymore. Hope is a wonderful thing to have, but in your case, it's hurting you.
Well, whatever it is that you are holding onto, if there's nothing positive left in it for you, it's time to let it go.
Best of luck

I am going to tell you something that I want you to take it seriously, take it to your heart:
This is YOUR life. YOU have to live it. Not your mom, not your dad, but YOU.
This sounds really cliche, but it really is true. Your family wants what's best for you, they want what they think is right, even if you don't enjoy it. No parent wants to see their child fail, because that makes them feel like it's their fault and they have failed as parents. They just want you to have a secure, stable life.
Now, it's better to bit your lip and say something instead of not trying at all. Until then, nothing will change. You will live unhappily. From what you have said, you made yourself believe that this is not in your control. Like I said, this is YOUR life. If you choose not to fight for it, for yourself and your future, then you have no freedom. Just let go of your fear and fight for it.
I'll let you in on a little secret about my family. I am the youngest in my family, but I'm also the black sheep. I didn't follow the same paths as my sisters. They're delusional and brainwashed, because unlike them, I listened to my heart and led my own life. But look... They are the ones who are unhappy. I am the happiest I've ever been. My sister who is two years older than me, ENVIES me. She wish she had my life, because she doesn't even control her own. She followed the pack and did what she THOUGHT was right, when in her heart she knew it wasn't. She doesn't even know who she is anymore.
It's not easy to stand up to your family. Every day feels like a constant fight, but like I said, this is YOUR life; not their's. My family may not agree with me, but they haven't kicked me to the curb. You have to be a really strong person, but it IS possible. You have to think about how bad do you want it?
What I'm saying is, you can live your life with regret and pain, but you will only have yourself to blame.
Best of luck. Feel free to message me if you feel like talking more about this :)

I am a student and I do not feel knowledgeable about laptop notebook computers. I want to buy one that can last for a couple of years, yet price is a big concern. After doing plenty of research about laptops, I feel completely clueless. Do you think you can recommend a laptop with the following information?
1. I will not use my laptop every day.
2. I will write many papers/presentations with it, and that is the main purpose of the purchase. Therefore, I would like a one that allows papers to be easily transferred to other computers and has good tools for academic projects.
3. I will use the internet with the laptop and that's very important because the classes I am enrolled in often post things online and I have to turn documents in online.
4. I hopefully will have an iTunes account on it.
Those are the four criteria. The MacBook is really quite expensive for me, but do you think it would be better to buy high or just buy low due to my needs. I probably will never make songs and videos on it. Thanks for your help and consideration. It is greatly appreciated!! Thanks! (link)
|
If you know you won't be using it everyday and money is a big issue, then if I were you I'd buy according to my money.
Macs are great but not for everyone. They're mostly for designers or people who will utilize the design programs. In your case you shouldn't get it. They're trendy and look cool and all, but don't spend your last dime if you won't be using it like that. Like you said, you won't be doing any projects like that on it besides your basic essay or powerpoint. Plus, macs don't always convert well to other PC's.
I highly advise against Dell. DO NOT GET A DELL LAPTOP! Their desktops are great, but everyone I know who had a Dell laptop has had problems with it. My sister's laptop basically became a vegetable after one year. It couldn't be fixed so she had to get a new one.
Personally, I have an HP and it's wonderful. I bought mine from Costco for a really good price.
You should check out Wal-Mart, Costco or Sam's Club if you want good quality electronics at an affordable price (lol I sound like I work there but I don't). They have the same new, brand name computers that places like Office Depot has, but these ones are cheaper.
You can also buy your laptop through your school. My college gave me a discount, but you had like two computers to choose from.
It's also a good thing to go to the store first and write down the models you like, then look up the reviews on http://www.cnet.com when you get home.
Good luck!

Guys, what are things you hate that girl's do? Like if they're annnoying and if they check your cell phone a bunch or something. I just want to know all the things guys hate about girls. Like yeah, if that makes sense? Even girls can tell me! Like any things you know guy's don't like. THANKS :D (link)
|
Obviously I'm not a guy but I do know what bothers some guys. Not all guys have the same pet peeves, but here are some I know of:
- Swearing
- Smoking
- Drinking excessively
- Farting or just being gross
- Talking too much or being whining
- Talking about other guys or your ex's
A big one is when girls don't act classy. It's really unattractive when a girl talks about things women shouldn't be. Like if they're being grotesque or something.
|
So today out of nowhere my left eye started to hurt. It's mostly when I move it into a certain direction.. like all the way to the left, straight up or all the way to the right.
Any ideas on what might be causing this?
I don't have any history of bad eyesight, too much tv or anything like that. (link)
|
Sounds like an early symptom of an eye infection. It will probably turn red in a day or two. You should see a doctor so you can get eyedrops. I've had a lot of eye infections because leaving my contacts in too long and from makeup. The eyedrops you get from the doctor are much stronger than over the counter eyedrops.

now being serious
I think big is beautiful
I look at women like Queen Latifah and Tyra Banks
and they are Thick beautiful women
but then you have the Paris Hilton's and the Nicole Richies
who are dam near a string and thats what america thinks is right.
thats what men think is "Hot"
but to me they have little girl bodies
now i'm a thick girl and i love it
but i still sometimes feel the need to be thin
not because i'm not happy with myself
but because of the way others may look at me
my skinny friends get attention from guys our age
but i get it from men that are 20, 21 ,22
I jus really want to know Is big BEAUTIFUL
or am i just buggin'? (link)
|
Don't let society make you believe that you have to look a certain way to be accepted. I personally think it's an American way of thinking and kind of has to do with who you are with. When I was younger, if I was with my white friends, I always felt fat, even though I wasn't. When I was with my black friends, I thought I was too skinny and not curvy enough. But I realized that we are ALL made different. No two people on this earth are the same, which makes us unique, which makes us beautiful. As long as you carry yourself well and love yourself, then others will love you too.
I'm glad you brought up Tyra because I love that woman! In one of her episodes, she mentioned a group of girls in her high school. They weren't the prettiest girls, but they had an attitude and confidence about them that made all the guys go crazy. You can be a pretty girl, but if you are insecure it shows. Sexiness and confidence pretty much go hand in hand.
My take on size is that as long as you are healthy and taking care of yourself, then forget what others say. Just be content with yourself.

ignorance is bliss
what does that mean?
and what does this mean?
if ignorance is bliss, why arent more people happy? (link)
|
Ignorance is bliss means that people are content when they are shielded from the truth. They are happier not knowing the truth because the truth can be too hard to handle.
For example, people who wear fur hardly ever think about the ways that fur is obtained. It's just clothing. They don't know that animals are skinned alive and left to die like that, just so you can have a fur collar on your winter jacket. These people are happier not knowing, and finally knowing the truth is too disturbing to them.

How long does weed stay in your body? I need to know because last time I smoked was a few weeks ago and I'm going for a job interview soon and I also have an upcoming physical. Also, what can you do to get it out of your sytem? Thanks :] (link)
|
You have to sweat it out, so exercise or do a lot of running. A friend was in the same situation and that's what he was told. Not sure if water helps but you should drink a lot anyways because you need to hydrate from all the exercising.

okay, the shape of my V, i dont know if it is normal.
its not like this... (|)
its like (/). i have a piece [thick, it looks like swollen kindof] piece of skin sticking out between the ( and ) it just looks like a big mess. is that normal? i've tried searching for a while. and the guys i have been hooking up with havent said anything about it (link)
|
That's normal. This sounds kinda funny, but no two vaginas look alike (in shape, size, color, whatever!). Everyone is different, just how we all look different in the face, our height, our skin color, everything. However, you think it looks swollen. If it's tender and it hurts when touched, then that would be a problem you need checked however. If not, then you're fine.

I feel stupid. All the time. Embarrassed, unworthy. You name it. I have such low self esteem. And all my friends are just so perfect. They have perfect hair, perfect bodies, perfect social life, perfect boyfriends. In fact, I don't even know why they are friends with me at all. And I'm not jealous of them. That's so not a part of any of this. This has to do with me. I'm just saying that being surrounded by them just seems to make my life seem even worse.
I can't seem to do anything right. I mess up every friendship I have. My parents told me it's because I always drop everything if there's a friend in need. I support my friends to the extreme. They always take priority. This is because I don't want them to think I'm not a very good friend because I don't want them dumping me again and again and again. But, they never reciprocate the level of support that I give them. I just, can't seem to...do anything. I'm so stupid for even having friends. So so stupid. I shouldn't have any, because I'm selfish for expecting them to show their support for anything that I do. I feel as though I don't deserve their support, but I have to keep giving mine to them because I feel like they deserve it. I don't deserve it. I don't know why I would. They've made it pretty clear that I don't deserve anything from them.
Sorry if this is confusing. It's late, and I'm tired. But this all made sense in my head. It's just harder to get it out on paper...well, computer screen. Whatever. (link)
|
One thing I'm certain of is that you need NEW FRIENDS...... Why are you even friends with these leeches? What kind of people do you hang around? They keep you around because you make them feel better about themselves, that's why. It's an evil reason, but girls really are like that. Another thing, they are NOT perfect. Nobody is and never will be. What you see on the surface may look perfect, but everyone has their flaws and secrets on the inside.
No relationship, friendship or love, is worth putting in 99% and receiving 1% back. It looks like you give it your all because you want to feel worthy. That's not the way to go. It only makes you feel like you're not good enough.
Are these really the kind of people you want to be around? People who make you feel bad about yourself? You need to surround yourself with positive, encouraging people. Friends who bring your spirits up instead of down. You are NOT selfish for expecting them to support you. That's what friends are for.. that's the role they're supposed to play in your life. They're supposed to BE THERE for you.
In my opinion, you are the perfect friend; you just haven't found YOUR perfect friends. I hope you make a change and find new friends soon, because what you are doing is only hurting yourself.
Best wishes

so i was dating this guy for 8 months and 3 of them he was in new york because his mom sent him away. his mom really hates me and i don't have a clue why? everytime he would call me from her phone and not call private she changes the number. when he was away he found out his ex girlfriend was prego with his baby and was fine with it until he got back. we hung out for like three weeks and then he broke up with me out of the blue. i ran away with him and the whole thing is quite confusing so i wont explain everything. anyways all of his friends are telling him he doesn't need me, and that i'm just a distraction when he should be worrying about his baby. i really love him. i mean if i didn't i wouldn't have stayed with him while he was gone for 3 months. i have tried everything to get back together with him and it just wasn't working so i gave up and started hanging out with this other kid, and he (my ex) doesn't know. but the other night he called me and said he missed me and wanted to get back together but i don't want to hurt this other kid what do i do? (link)
|
Wow this is quite a situation you're in. First of all, you're not the first person who wasn't liked by a boyfriend's mom. I'm not a mom, but I will say that it's nothing personal. He is her baby; she has high expectations for him. Personally speaking, my mother-figure doesn't think anyone I've been with is good enough for me, without a legitimate reason. Anyways, your relationship is between you and him, not you and his mother. I'm not saying disrespect her, but don't beat yourself up for her opinions.
Second, his friends are somewhat right. Him bringing a child into this world with another woman is a whole new game. He can't run around being a child anymore; he has to grow up. He probably broke up with you because he needed time to figure out what he's going to do because this is a big deal.
If you truly love him, you should give him space and time away because he has a lot to worry about. I don't know his feelings towards his ex or if he plans on being with her, but if he does, I'm sure he's doing it for the best interest of the child to raise him/her in a somewhat normal environment with both parents in his/her life. This has nothing to do with you, and wanting him all to yourself would just be selfish.
About him calling you saying he misses you. Times are difficult and I'm sure he really meant it, but you should both think about it logically. Instead of diving back into it (and from the little that I heard, the relationship already screams drama), you should just talk for now.
It seems like this new kid is just your rebound. It sounds like you were just toying around with him because you couldn't get your ex back, so you settled for someone else. That's already a mistake, but staying with someone to avoid hurting them is an even bigger mistake. Just be truthful to the guy because you owe it to him.
Who knows, maybe you will be together with your ex later in life, but for now, the best thing you can do stand back and let him deal with his life right now.
Best of luck

how do hoodia diet pills work exactly?Im 17 and half yearz old my height is 1''70 which is like 5 foot 6 and my weight is 167 pounds and i reaaaaly wana reach 140!!is it possible i take hoodia deit pills im desperate to lose weight!! (link)
|
No, they do not work. As with all diet pills, you have to read the fine print, which says, "RESULTS NOT TYPICAL; Pills must be combined with diet and exercise". Even though we like to wish, there is no such thing as a magic pill that will just burn away your pounds without you doing anything.
If you are desperate to lose weight, and you will try anything, try doing it the right way, which is the only way that works: proper diet and exercise.

1) What is an estimate on boob surgery from and A cup to a D?
2) And when in surgery must nipple piercings be taken out?
3) And will any injections have to taken? And does an IV hurt?
4) -only if you had a boob job done- what's an estimate (1-10) on how much it hurts over all? (link)
|
The price depends on where you go but yours will probably be the most expensive because you're going to the biggest size. Anyways, you would go through a consultation with the doctor to "try" the boobs on and see what's best for you. However, you should listen to the doctor because he/she's the expert here. There's such a thing as going too big, in that case your boobs will completely go to opposite sides and look bad when not in a bra.
I'm pretty sure you have to take the piercings out.
I'm 100% sure you have injections and IV. You undergo anesthetics and are given painkillers, before and after surgery. You probably won't even feel the IV because you'll be asleep, but anyways, IV's don't hurt, they just feel SUPER uncomfortable.
I've never had a boobjob before, so I can't speak from personal experience about the pain, but you won't feel anything during surgery. Afterwards, it's a lot of swelling for the first few weeks, but after that you're good.
I always watch those shows on health channels where they do surgery. You should take a look into that to see an actual procedure done.

Hi, I am going to a be a university student this year, and soon I will be meeting my advisor to plan out my schedule. I have been advised by some friends to take A LOT of classes, so I end up with about 20 credits a year, and by others to take only 13, or 15 credits, so I won't kill myself.
I will do anything to become a lawyer, so if it takes 20 credits I will do it. But I don't want to burn myself out and then find out it would have been OK to take 15.
Is there a recommended number for pre-law students? Thank you. (link)
|
You should first find out the maximum amount of credits you can take per semester. At my school you can only take up to 18.
You really should NOT take 20 credits. At least not your first semester. Take 13 or 15 the first semester so you can get the hang of it before you take on a full course load. Plus, the majority of people who overload end up dropping a class or two. It's VERY common.
Also, you want to be able to get used to your new surroundings and be able to meet new people. The biggest part of the college experience is being independent, managing your life, and most importantly, making friends. If you miss out on the social life, that's something you'd really regret.
Like the other person said, this isn't high school. The classes are NOT the same level as high school classes. Plus, it's harder to keep up your GPA since you won't have as much time to dedicate to each class.
Remember, you can always take summer courses to get ahead. And, I don't know if you know this, but almost 3/4 of your curriculum are required classes that everyone has to take, regardless of major, and they're all prereq's, so you basically don't get to take classes pertaining to your major until your last two years of school.
|
What are some things college's like to see on a resume(other than good grades of course)? Any reccomendations as to what one might add in order to make a good impression? (link)
|
You put any awards you received (ex. Summa cum laude, Scholar athlete awards, scholarship awards), volunteering, clubs you are a member of or have a leadership position, any sports you partake in, and work history.
Leadership is a really good thing to have. Whether you are captain of your soccer team or treasurer of the physics club.
The good thing about athletics is that it shows them you are a well-rounded, active person who doesn't sit at home studying all day.
It's also a good thing to show what you are into so they can see what kind of person you are. For example, say you are into math. You should join the math club and enter math competitions. Listing things like that on you resume is good.
Also, your grades don't go on your resume. Your grades are on your transcript, which you send through your school.

so i got this hair dye at Sally's called Jazzing. the exact color is called Racy Wine which is basically fuschia. it can be temporary or semi-permanent depending on how long you leave it in for and if you process with heat. i wash my hair every other day so the lady at the store said the color should last like 4-6 weeks. twice i have put a strand of the color in my hair, and it always looks good. but as soon as i wash it the first time, which is usually the next day or the one after, it fades sooo much and is all downhill from there. my hair is naturally light blonde, so i dont have to bleach it for the color to show up well, it's just getting it to stay in. on the bottle it says for semi-permanent, leave the color in for 30-45 minutes and process with heat, which i did both times. i cant figure out what im doing wrong to get the color to stay in. any suggestions? the lady at the store said it was a really good brand that alot of people use, and it was cheaper than manic panic, so yeah... (link)
|
Semi-permanent will come out in like 6 to 8 washes (usually, it might depend on the brand). If I were you, I wouldn't wash my hair as much. Sounds gross, but for those I know who've used semi-permanent dye, they just didn't wash their hair much. You could try to leave the dye in longer next time, but you might not get the same color result. Your best bet is to just try the manic panic dye.

ok so there is a Teen Focus in my town, which i've heard is a planned parenthood type thing. if my boyfriend and i [17 & 18] go in to get tested for STDs, is it free? if not, about how much would it be? would it show up on medical bills or anything like that? do they test for EVERYTHING, or do you have to specify what you want to be tested for? also, do they just draw blood? any info would be greatly appreciated. their website doesnt give me much info =] (link)
|
It depends on what you are being tested for. You have to specify what you want to be checked for. For HIV, it's a cheek swab. They just take a Q-tip to the inside of your cheek. This is usually free or else it's relatively cheap (because it's a common test) and you have the option of having your results anonymous.
The rest of the STD's (gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, etc) can be found through urine samples and blood, but they like to "go in there" and get a direct swab sample, like a pap. It kind of depends on where you're being seen. These procedures are more expensive because the results have to be cultured and it takes a few days until they know the results. YES it will show up on your insurance.

Well I posted something here a while ago about someone breaking into our house. Well when I walked home today, someone that lives on my street gave me this really dirty wallet asking if it belonged to my dad. He was getting his hedges cut when he found it in the hedges. I took out the first card I saw in it and it was my health card!
I said thank you and immediately went home and told my dad what happened and gave him the wallet and told him to call the police like right NOW.
He just said no and just took out the cards that he canceled, threw them away, and put the wallet on the window sill and walked away.
I was like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? CALL THE POLICE!" But he kept saying no and was really quiet. It was like he was a totally different person.
I just...don't know what to do. He's supposed to call the police isn't he? I keep telling him to call the police but he keeps shaking his head and saying no. I don't get it. Could someone tell me if they know what he's feeling from his perspective? We should be calling the police! When our house was broken in, the police could not find any clues at all and now we have SOMETHING. (link)
|
What's done is done and it already happened. There isn't anything that the police can do. He can file a report, but THAT'S IT. He's already taken the actions he needed to (canceling his cards). I know tons of people who have had these things happen to them. You think the police don't get these cases EVERY day? I'm sorry that this happened to you, yes it's unfortunate, but there are much larger crimes to taken care of (rapes, murders, kidnappings). They aren't going to send out detectives on a manhunt for a crime this minuscule.

Im taking an in class final which is an essay. Our teacher told us it is about racism (8th grade btw) and i need some tips on what to use.
Please, i need help!
1-i need 3 groups who have experienced racism, what time period, and why
2-i need about 5 movies on racism.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! (link)
|
African Americans. There are so many time periods for this, like ever since they were first enslaved. You could focus on the 1900's, especially during the 1960s and the human rights movement and everything before that.
Asians. During the early 1900's, millions of Chinese emigrated to the states to build the railroads on the west coast (California).
The Jewish during the Holocaust.
Here's a long list of movies dealing with racism:
