It depends on what you are being tested for. You have to specify what you want to be checked for. For HIV, it's a cheek swab. They just take a Q-tip to the inside of your cheek. This is usually free or else it's relatively cheap (because it's a common test) and you have the option of having your results anonymous.
The rest of the STD's (gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, etc) can be found through urine samples and blood, but they like to "go in there" and get a direct swab sample, like a pap. It kind of depends on where you're being seen. These procedures are more expensive because the results have to be cultured and it takes a few days until they know the results. YES it will show up on your insurance. ]
Normally the testing is free. Your parents are not told and no it doesn't show up on medical bills if it's free. If you use your parents insurance it does show up on statements. If you are sexually active you need to schedule a full pelvic exam and have the other tests for STDs done. You also might want to get birth control while you are there. They normally do all of that for free if you are under 18. Your BF may have to pay a small amount. Call them and ask. As for the blood testing--most HIV/AIDS tests use blood and they can also check for syphillis and other diseases with the same blood. ]
