I hate to sound cliche but guys will come and go, if this guy like your friend talking her down to him just makes you look bad. If you really like this guy tell him how you feel but don't diss your friend to make yoursself look better. No boy is ever worth a friendship (unless he is rich and famous) but seriously go for the guy you would have more fun with, it only matters the quality of the time you spend together not the quantity.

You and your Dad are going through a rough time right now and the best way to help your Dad is to just be supportive and share your feelings. Just remeber to always use a condom, the consequences are far more severe if you don't. There is no right age to have sex. A good way to tell if your ready (emotionally) is if you can talk about sex without getting embarrassed and if you can go but condoms w/o freaking that someone will see you. Also, are you financially prepared for the possibility of getting pregnant? Do you know if your potential partner has any STD's, make sure your protected even so, you can still get gentital warts and/or herpes from contact with another persons genitalia (just something to think about) And as far as being physically ready, most guys under 18 don't know what they are doing and most girl's under 18 are to afraid to say anything.

A good way to show her parents you are genuine is to show her brother's you are a good guy. Since the brother's are your age, strike up a conversation and just let them know your intentions are good. Also, make friends w/this girl, show her parents you can be trusted. The worst thing that can happen is you will have some new friends.

When it come to guy's who like sports, getting his attention can be pretty difficult. My guy friends idea of bonding is sitting through an entire football game with maybe a sentence or to actually directed at one another. Guys respond differently in these situations, it would really make an impression on him if you showed an interest in the sport he likes, go see his games, even if it bores you to death. If you really like this guy get interested in his hobbies and he will get interested in you...guaranteed.
