Why do I get cramps after sex? its not rough or anything, but like an hour or two after I'll get wicked bad cramps and I'm just wondering why. Could it be because I'm new at it.
Is it like menstrual cramps? Because this could indicate a sign of infection or an STD, or a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection).
Cramps after sex isn't normal, but don't freak out about it, most likely its something that is easily treatable. Make an appointment with your gyno.

Honestly, I wouldn't consider this cheating necessarily, but if I were your boyfriend that would cause some red flags.
My rule of thumb, don't do anything you wouldn't if your boyfriend was there. So would you have cuddled with him in front of your boyfriend? I'm guessing not.

I was at work the other day and someone came through my line at the store (yeah, I'm a cashier). Anyway, he was buying some toothbrushes and toothpaste and I asked him if the toothpaste tasted good because I am trying to find something new to switch to because the one I'm using right now really sucks, I think. So, he started telling me that brushing my teeth helps to prevent heart attacks when I am older and stuff. I don't know if this is true though and it sounds a little weird. I don't want to ask someone around me and sound really stupid though because I mean...your teeth? Brushing preventing HEART attacks? Uhmmm...
Does anyone know if there was any truth to that or was he just talking?
I have heard this as well, but it doesn't mean that there is a causal relationship between the two. They could be correlated, meaning they occur together, but it doesn't mean that one thing causes another.
To give you an example, when ice cream rates go up in the summer, crime rates go up as well. This is a correlational relationship: ice cream sales go up in the summer when it is hot, and when it is hot people tend to leave their car windows open or the windows to their homes open, thus causing crime rates to go up.
So does that mean if we stop buying ice cream, crime rates go down? Or the weather cools? Most likely not.
Same thing with the heart attacks and brushing your teeth. People who have heart attacks tend to be overweight, so they probably don't eat the best of foods, for example lots of sugary foods. So maybe someone said having cavities causes heart attacks, and someone just assumed that well if cavities cause them, then we need to prevent cavities by brushing our teeth, but really at the end of the day its really the food (as well as other factors such as genetics and lifestyle, but I won't get into that for the sake of proving my point).

I'm off to college this year. I'm going to be dorming, but I have NO IDEA what I should bring and what's provided by the university. I didn't get to go to a tour of the dorm so I don't know. (I'm going to Stony Brook, if it helps)
So, what do I HAVE to bring? What should I bring? What shouldn't I bring?
I am a college student living in the dorms, so I'll just give you a list of what I brought:
Mattress cover: this is really important, because for example at my dorm the mattresses have dates on them, and mine has been there for ten years. That is at least ten people sleeping on that bed, so you can only imagine how gross that is, and in what shape the mattress is - I must have had some pretty heavy set girls sleeping on mine
Bedding: sheets, comforter, pillow and pillowcase, etc
Lamp: Some dorms have good lighting, so I would just get a desk lamp to be safe, and you can get a floor lamp if you feel you need it once you get there
Closet Hanging shelf: this is something I would have died without. Storage space is very limited
Cork board/white board/whatever you need to write notes on
Laundry Hamper: and a sturdy one at that
Speaking of laundry, QUARTERS! they are like gold! And whatever else you will need for doing laundry.
I would also get a shelf or a wrack (one of the wire ones for about 30-40 dollars) so you can store stuff on, such as book, food, shoes, etc.
And as the person below me said, bring something you can carry your shower stuff in. And preferably with drainage and made of plastic, not fabric (I got a fabric one and its getting moldy)
Stick on hooks for your walls because you can't put holes in the walls
Air freshener such as febreze, dorm get stinky sometimes
A couple of plates, bowls, and utensils, and lots of disposable ones as well
Garbage bags
A computer and printer for school
And a TV and whatever else for entertainment
Also bring lots of pictures from home so you can decorate with and you won't get as homesick.
And speaking of decorations, some good ideas are christmas lights, posters, strobe lights, blacklights, and whatever else you can think of
Towels
Plastic storage bins
And food, even if there is a cafeteria, sometimes you might still want to eat breakfast in your dorm, so stock up on cereal. Also cup o' noodles is your best friend. Speaking of which, getting a an electric tea kettle isn't a bad idea, as well as a water filter. Keeping some frozen food in the freezer isn't a bad idea either, I think the majority of dorms in the United States come with fridges and microwaves.
i have a beach party to go to in like a week and i have this REALLY BAD soccer tan like my thighs are white, i have a HORRIBLE farmers tan (only arms..not the neck)and i have a sock tan....i am SOO EMBARASSED by it...my friends tell me i have a GREAT body..so i wanna wear a bikini to impress the guys ;D...but i have to fix my tan... i would like to do it naturally and without a spray tan...so u guys have any ideas how?
Tanning beds! Yes they're not the greatest for you, but your tan will look natural. Just put sunscreen on the areas that are already tan, and leave the un-tan parts alone. Or you can do the extreme and saran wrap. Just don't go tanning excessively because there is a risk for skin cancer because of the UV.
If you don't want to go this route, a cheaper alternative is a self-tanner, but that can make you look orange and unnatural.

I was talking with a teacher of mine about genetics and she said that true African descendants always have brown eyes. I told her that I've seen many African-Americans with blue eyes though! She suggested that both of the person's parents were not black (like one was black and the other was white/caucasian) if the eyes were any other color than brown. She also said that contacts change the eye color and that may be why I've noticed "so many" dark-skinned people with light colored eyes (and, yes, I know about contacts...just saying her point).
So, is it really possible for a dark person to have blue eyes or some other light colored eyes (like green)?
One of my great friends who is african american (dark skinned) has naturally blue eyes. My other friend, who is mixed, has light brownish green eyes.

Well, when I am interested in someone, and I am tempted to have sex with him, I ask myself this question: Do I see myself marrying him? and Would I want to have his babies?
If the answer is no two both questions, then easy, I don't have sex with him.
I am still a virgin, because all the guys that I have liked and dated, the answer to those questions was always no (and it also puts into perspective what kind of guy you're dating if you don't want to have his babies or to spend the rest of your life with him lol).
If I were to meet someone and the answers to the questions were yes, then yes, I would have sex with him in a reasonable time in the relationship (at least two months in, or depending on how long and how well we've known each other).
I do think that if you are engaged though, sex should be a part of your relationship.

I have a problem...with my future!?
I am a senior in high school this year and need to start thinking about what I want to do in life. The problem is that I have no interest in anything really. The only thing I really care about is...well...I love HOT boys. I love to go out. I love to shop. I love fashion. I like art but I'm not very creative myself and I SUCK at drawing and stuff like that!
I want to go to a good University and have a good pay check when I start working, but I simply don't picture myself sitting in a office and having working hours every single day. I am not skinny or unique enough to be a model. Like I said, I suck at being creative and stuff. I just can't figure my life out. I don't want to spend the rest of my life hating my job and life. I know the clock is ticking though and I have a feeling I won't figure it out. I DON'T WANT TO GO TO COLLEGE AND JUST TAKE RANDOM COURSES BECAUSE I CAN'T DECIDE WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH MY LIFE!!!
PS: I am bad at math I don't like it and I don't enjoy it. I am also completely bored by geography and history. I mean, I REALLY don't care about what country is where and who did what centuries ago.

Well, the first two years of college is just you getting your general education. It (usually) doesn't matter what you want to major in, you still have to do it. So, you can just go to a local community college and just work on your general ed while you try to figure out what to do with your life, and then once you decide you can apply and transfer to a four year school that offers your major. Its the cheaper alternative and that's what I did, I am now transfering into a university with a major I would have never imagined I would want.

When I was 12 I had my first kiss with this boy that i really liked at the movies, and it was pretty funny it was bad lol. but after that i learned that its not that big of a deal lol and the rest were better ha so anyone have funny first kiss experinces?
Mine was strange and terrifying.
I was fifteen, I went to the movies with my friend and her cousin, who was 17 at the time. I have briefly talked to him once before, and he was flirting with me big time. I was really flattered by that so that kind of made me attracted to him.
So it was the movie, and we were whispering to each other, and out of nowhere he suddenly put his face near mine. I realize he wants to kiss me so I put my head down, completely freaked out. So I'm pretty much shaking because I'm so nervous, and he does it again! So this time we just kinda rub noses and then he just pecks me on the lips. His lips were really soft, smooth, and squishy, and honestly, I didn't like how it felt at all.
But because I wanted him to think I was a good kisser, I let him keep giving me little pecks, and then all of a sudden he asks me if I would be his girlfriend! Shocked I say yes. He then leans in to kiss me again, and I think now here comes a real kiss, and it was a bit longer, and a few seconds in I'm thinking hmmm, I guess this is the part where I stick my tongue in his mouth. I was near panic attack then, and my mouth was completely dry, and I felt my tongue brush his teeth, so I guess his mouth was open too, but I guess he didn't like it because he pulled away. Anyways, mortifying, terrifying experience for me. Oh, and did I mention he spoke almost no English?
Anyways, we went out for about a month, I never got used to the idea of him kissing me, and by the end of the month I was almost nauseated thinking about it, so I broke up with him. But he actually was not a bad person, it was just the kissing that was bad. Oh and he never wanted to french kiss, and my friend said that he doesn't do it ever, so it wasn't just me.
So that was my really long story about my first kiss =)

my gerbil, Brownie has lost her upper left tooth, and her other upper tooth is wiggly. Her bottom teeth are getting very long. How much does it cost to get a vet to clip my gerbil's teeth? Can I do it at home? If so, how? Is it hard? Also, she's refusing to eat, I'm guessing it's hurting her, so I'm not forcing her to. But I was wondering, can I make a gerbil "smoothie" out of fruits or veggys and feed her with an eye dropper? Or is that a bad idea? I really need some info, thanks!
First of all, do NOT attempt to clip her teeth yourself. This can cause the tooth to crack all the way down and create an infection, not to mention it will be quite painful for her if that were to happen.
I would take her to the vet to see why her teeth fell out in the first place, and why she's not eating.
As for how much fixing her teeth problems would cost:
My bunny had to have his six front teeth taken out (two bottoms, and then two fronts, and the peg teeth that are right behind the fronts). At first I would bring him in so he can get them filed down. It was about 50 dollars every two three months.
After a while it was getting too expensive, so I just decided to get his teeth pulled completely because in the end that would save me money and would make a more stress free life for him. That cost about 600 dollars.
For you, it may be cheaper because gerbils are smaller.
Gerbils have back teeth with which they chew their food, so their is no need to turn it into a smoothie. (What I do for my bunny is to just cuts carrots and stuff into skinny sticks so that they can get his mouth around it, so he can just take bites from the carrot stick).
Feeding just fruits and veggies to your gerbil won't be such a great idea, it may cause him to get an upset stomach and there's not enough nutrients in them (at least not enough to satisfy all of his nutritional needs). Another reason to go to the vet - they will probably give you this green powder stuff called Critical Care that you mix with water and force feed with a syringe.

So I've been with my fiance since 7th grade. I'm now 16 years old (I'll be 17 in a month) and he's 19 years old (He'll be 20 about a week before I turn 17). We've been engaged for little over 4 months now, and recently we've decided to try for a baby. I have irregular periods at times, but this summer they've been pretty regular. I had my last period in the beginning of June and have had unprotected sex twice since July 9th. I haven't gotten my period for July yet, but then again I'm not sure when it's supposed to come. My plan was to test on my birthday (August 16th) if my period hasn't come yet. But I'm just trying to see if it's even worth testing, or if it's even possible I'm pregnant. I haven't had many pregnancy symptoms besides gas and extreme tiredness. But then today I felt like something was leaking (like I might have gotten my period) down there. so I checked in the bathroom and I had this clearish-white lotion textured discharge. It doesn't have a strong smell at all or anything so I googled it, because I've never had this type of discharge before. Well yeah, google says it could be a sign of early pregnancy. So I'm just trying to get other points of view to see what my chances are. Thanks in advance.

I know that I'm young and so is he, but we've always wanted children (especially together). we're stable enough to support this child (If I am pregnant). so if you could, please have enough respect for me not to lecture and to just give advice. well im 19 yrs old and im pregnat im probably like 2 months my boyfriend doesnt want anything to do with me or the baby i talked to his mom and she said she would support me. i kno i could just abort and get ir over with it but im against abortion idk what to do.
I think you should forget about everything else and just do what is in the best interest of the baby. If you're against abortion, than don't do it because it can cause a big emotional trauma. I suggest giving the baby up for adoption. There are a lot of older, well off families that are unable to have a child that are hungry to have a child in their lives, even if its not their own. You can try looking for such a family and getting to know them while you are pregnant, so you know that you are doing what is best for your child. They may even let you be part of the child's life, if that is something you want to do. I would really look into it.

I have this one friend, he comes off as a player, I guess you can say. He hits on pretty much any girl that comes his way.
But him and me have been good friends for a while. And I think I like him. Yeah. Not a good choice.
But I'm not sure if he likes me back.

Well he is obviously interested in you, and if you like him, well then just go with the flow, but I highly suggest keeping your guard up. Don't expect a perfect relationship, and don't expect him to stop flirting with other girls once he's with you (IF, he ends up with you if he in fact likes you), because chances are it won't happen.
As for him calling you sexy and telling you that he loves you, I would call that friendly flirting, but they're could be deeper meaning behind it. Just take things very very slow physically and you'll see if he's there for the right reasons.

This is a really weird question, but...
My cat is a little over a year old, and I adopted her at 11 weeks. She's been litter-trained, and has never missed, never had a problem with it. I clean her litter box every day, and nothing has changed.
I woke up this morning to the sound of her scratching at something, and walked into my bathroom to find a few little...presents...in my tub. I cleaned it up, put them in the toilet, and showed her.
This sounds odd, but she's really, really smart. I can only assume she figured out that the bathroom is where I do my business and she tried to do the same thing.
Does anyone have any experience potty-training cats? Or any ideas?

Was this just a one time occurrence? My cats (age 8 and 5), are 100% potty trained, and yes we have had 3 or 4 occurrences (not sure from which cat). It happens, and for some odd reasons cats have an odd fascination with bath tubs. Perhaps she was just tired and thought it was a giant litter box? Lol. If she's back to using her litter box, then I wouldn't be too worried about it, but if it happens again, try getting her a new kind of litter (some cats are picky).

I write a column for my school paper, and I was wondering if it would be offensive to anyone if I said the Mayan calendar looks like a Monopoly board on crack. Because it does...
I personally don't find it offensive, but I'm sure some people out there will. My concern about it is how appropriate it would be to put that in the school paper. Maybe if you were writing a short story for English or something.. but not something that would be viewed by the whole school.
Of course, it's your column, and you can decide for yourself. If the whole thing is very proper and "politically correct," I would avoid putting that phrase in there, but, if you're taking the more sarcastic and humorous approach to the column, and that phrase will blend in, then go ahead.
