hey. im a cheerleader and im completely obsessed. i made the varsity team this year as a freshman and so did some of my other friends, but some other close friends didnt. we worked through that whole problem, but i still feel that there mad at us for making varsity. what can i do to keep us all together? First off, congratulations on making varsity. And don't worry, I love cheerleading too! Anyway, I'm sure your friends are going to feel a little inferior towards you and upset that you made it and they didn't... it's only natural to feel jealously in this situation. You just can't let it affect your friendship. If you already worked through the problem, then I would say not to bring it up again. Don't really talk about cheer too much around them to make them uncomfortable. Pretend nothing happened and keep on living your life normally. And most of all, don't let it get to your head about varsity. You obviously made it because you are good and you deserve it, but it would not be good if you boasted to them so just keep it on the DL (downlow).

hello. i need help!! okay.. i play soccer. (im obsessed) i play modified soccer and i also do an acadimy for soccer.. and im on a travel team...so i have soccer every day of the week (mon-sun)i also normally play D.D.R. alot. and i box with my brother [for fun] but the thing is... im 5'0 and 110 pounds. im also 12 years old.. almost turning 13. what should i do!!?? all my friends say im skinny. but i dont think so AT ALL....any suggestions? YOU ARE NOT FAT! You are the most athletic person I've ever heard about, honestly. And doing what you do builds muscle. And if you didn't know, muscle weighs 10x more than fat. I'm guessing you probably have calf and arm muscle, right? IT'S OKAY! Your weight number may seem high but it's only based on your muscle. I have the same problem and I'm not fat either. Do not start losing weight because if you stop eating and you do continuous activites throughout the week, you could seriously damage your health. You basically are losing weight with what you do, it's just you may not feel like you are because you're building the muscle.

I'm dating a guy but we're not bf/gf... just dating open ended so we're pretty much allowed to date other people too. The thing is that I don't want to go out with anyone else; just him. So far he hasn't been seeing any other girls, but if/when he does I know that I'm going to feel completely crushed. How do I get him to like me enough to consider only me in a relationship? Lately he's been kinda cold to me, too. I feel like I'm losing his interest, any ideas on how I can spark up our relationship up?

I would say maybe you should find out what he likes, which I'm sure you probably already know, and use that to communicate and hang out with him. Instead of just a regular movie/dinner date try like doing an activity like bowling, mini golfing, going to the park, riding bikes, etc. The more time you spend with him, the better you chances are of becoming exclusive. Try and give him some space though, because if he feels too pressured or annoyed, then it won't end well.

i'm skiiny but not annerexcic...i promise...i eat alot and i never get full and i can't help it...i can eat a meal be full for 10 seconds then get hunry again..well..not hungry but not full...i don't know why..and while eating i don't gain much weight eitheer...i want gqain arm waeight...if you look at me i'm good skinny..like healthy skinny...but my arms are long and look annerexic...

You're not anorexic, nor should people think you are if you they know that you eat. If you really don't like the way your arms and legs look, eating is not the answer because even though you don't gain weight lots of food can really do damage to your body. Want my advice?... Work out, run, play a sport. Build MUSCLE no FAT! No one wants fat because it's unhealthy. And plus, muscle weighs more than like 2 as much as fat you will be gaining weight healthily.

Well, I just seen the questions someone left about their backhandspring.. and actually Im having the same problem. But my only problem is that Im just wayy to scared. I mean right before I stopped Cheering and goin to Gymnastics (which I start back today) I could do it. But I have fell ALOT and that pretty much stopped me from being able to do it. Soo my question is, How do you over come from being so scared? Because, once that I fell on my head.. that was the end for me. And honestly, I really really want to Cheer my Junior and Senior year but to do that.. I have to have my backtuck && I cant get that until my backhandspring comes back to me. (link)

Okay, I was in your same situation. Have someone spot you until you're like basically getting it by yourself with them only having like one hand on you. Then tell them to stand next to you and not spot you so you feel like they are but they really aren't. You basically just gotta not think about it and just believe you can do it by yourself. About falling on your head, (1) dont stop in mid air and (2) keep your elbows straight always.

Okay.well im a girl andi have a little hair above my lip. i think its a bit noticable and i dont want it there. i dont wanna shave it FOR SURE because it will grow back darker.

im afraid to wax it because ive heard it grows back is that true?

I'm sorry, but I don't have a very good answer for this. But I would have to say the best is for the waxing and just continously do it like you do with shaving your legs. I don't know how nair works, but I, personally, would be afraid to use it since it's chemical and stuff, but if you know better than I do about it, then maybe it's a good idea. I'm very sorry I wasn't more helpful :(.

I know it might be hard to let go, but when you think about common sense, it's better to leave your feelings about the 4yearguy. I understand it may be difficult to do that, but if you do fall in love again and go out, it will be even HARDER because you won't get to ever see it and it's worse to have yourself that much stress. If you feel like your new relationship isn't long enough to start dating, then continue being friends, if not, then go for it, if you also leave your feelings behind. If you can't leave you feelings, then don't do it with the 1yearguy because it wouldn't be fair to him, 4yearguy, or even yourself.

I'm doing a project on rules in schools, the good and the bad. However, I need rules that AREN'T just at my schoo or in my state.

I was wondering, what kind of dress codes do you guys have at your schools? Length of shorts, tank tops, ripped jeans?

Also, what are the rules on PDA? We get suspension if we're caught hugging.

Just any rules you may feel strongly about or just ones you guys totally love!

My middle school and high school are very different. In the high school, hugging, kissing, holding hands, etc, isn't really any issue. People are allowed to wear flip flops, skirts, tanks and ripped jeans. They made a new rule about girl gym clothing and how it cannot but a tanktop, whatsoever. There is no smoking on school grounds but I don't know the consequence if you are caught. They are really strict on cutting classes; you'll get detention. They don't like hats or gum as a school rule, but some individual teachers allow it.

In the middle school, there is no gum, hats, short skirts/shirts, spaghetti strapped tanks, and flip flops. No one really hugs and kisses in the halls unless it's the end of the school day. Although once I did see someone get a small talk from a teacher. Cutting isn't an issue since they're younger and probably doesn't even know what it means. When I was in middle school, my friends and I got away with wearing flip flops because we hooked on clear bra straps to the back of them because this annoying teacher would always say... "NO BACKS, NO STRAPS, NO GOOD!" Well, since they had straps, we were allowed to wear them. :)

My friend was in that problem last year. She was a freshman and he was a senior. At first, people seemed to think of the age difference as pretty big, but after a while, people got used to it. He shouldn't get into trouble if his/your parents don't mind it and if you both aren't doing anything illegal. As long as both your parents are okay, I think there is no reason you shouldn't stay together.

Ever since this summer I've been more concious of what I eat. I am a very active 14/f. I have lacrosse practice for 1 and 1/2 hours three days a week, I have marching band everyday for 2 hours and I run between 3 and 5 miles almost every day. I eat about 2,500 calories every day(honest). I try to balance the amount of carbs, fat, and protien I get based on the recomended servings. My parents bug me a lot about me not eating enough. I have lost my period for a few months now, but the doctor says its not a big deal, it will come back. I have a BMI of 20, so I'm not underweight. But my parents make me feel like I'm anorexic or something, I overhear them talking about me a lot. Do I have a problem? (link)

Don't worry. You don't have an eating disorder. I am going through the same problem. Being as active as you makes you lose a lot of weight. I know you are trying to be careful about your weight, but that also means getting it up if it's a little low.

I think you'll be okay, but maybe you should have some munchies in between sports, doing homework, or right before bed. And snacks doesn't have to be unhealthy. Have a banana, yogurt, crackers, granola bars, ANYTHING small that won't make you gain weight but will make sure your sugar level is okay. If you don't have enough sugar and you're as active as you are, there are bad consequences like passing out. So make sure you eat in between. Everyone is supposed to have about 6 meals a day. It may seem like a lot, but those 6 meals are lobster-and-steak dinners.

Keep up your exercise, it's extremely important. And just so you know, muscle weighs a lot more than fat. So if you see yourself gaining a few pounds, DON'T FRET. It's most likely you building up your muscle. If you want to show your parents you aren't anorexic but you want to be careful, show them that you're eating those little snacks in between and they'll feel a bit better.

It's so weird that you are having this problem because I was recently in the same situation. I actually just went to gymnastics today to improve on it.

First off, you need to be confident in it. A backhandspring is 90% mental, 10% physical. Once you KNOW how to do it and you aren't afraid to, then you should have no trouble.

I suggest to stare directly ahead of you. When you sit, keep your back straight and your hips should be the only thing moving backwards... nothing else! Then when you feel like you are going to fall backward, JUMP! Really reach for the back wall. Your arch will come naturally if you jump hard and fast and if you really extend your arms and reach.

A WORD OF CAUTION: When you are in the middle of doing it, never stop, or else you'll fall on your head. So don't stop for anything, chances are you'll make it over but maybe just on your knees. If you don't jump, your backhandspring will be low to the ground and have a lot of force on your wrists and that hurts!

Oh and when you sit back, don't throw yourself over. Wait until your arms swing right next to your ears before you jump. That'll really help your arch.
