Q: My boyfriend is going on a week long vacation with his college room-mate. I am making him a packet so that every day he will have a letter from me and a litle challenge to do as well. He is very Type A and like to plan/control everything so a little spontanaity would do him some good. I just need some help with coming up with 8 days worth of challenges. I already have a few ideas. One is to take a random but embarassing picture with a statue --- another is a letter will have a cd in it and they must sing one of the songs on the CD to another driver in traffic.

Things like that is what I want. Things they will have fun trying to figure out how to do it as well as actually completing the task..

Have them speak in a fake accent all day! Or ask a stranger for directions to the place they're in. Or walk around all day wearing something silly, like a crazy neon hat or toe socks or an eye patch.

13. You cant eat or drink around it
14. you can only use it once, so enjoy it while you have it.
15. there is some paper work involved
16. quite a bit of reading is involved.
17. even though you cant eat while using it, some food is involved
18.some painting is involved.
19. once you've used it, you will most likely want another one.

those are the clues. please, if you know what this is, tell me! thanks! =D
It will last a lifetime but you can only use it once? My theory would be an oven, but some of the clues obviously don't work there, and it isn't a typical sweet sixteen gift.

Let me know what you get!!

Q: this is probably going to be super long.thanks SO much if you actually read the whole thing.

ok. so, a little background.
I am 19, my boyfriend is also 19. we have been dating for 3 years and want to be with each other..well, forever. we are very committed to each other. I am personally against underage drinking. i have never had a drop of alcohol in my life. i am scared of what i might do while under the influence.. i really don't want to embarrass myself.
My boyfriend has drank with his friends/groups of people before. i dont approve and i've told him that. the way things are..its like, .. him drinking is only something to do behind my back and he has a ton of fun and he likes to do it without me around because he doesnt want me to see what he's like around other people.
He never takes me places, like out with his friends or anything. i am slightly overweight and kinda shy but i always try my hardest to be outgoing and not clinging to him when we go places. i'm getting better, i think.
ok. last year we both went to different schools after graduating high school. he promised over and over and over, i will not drink, i did not drink, i swear, i love you and i'm not lying. i believed him.

today he confessed that he drank every single weekend and alot of the weekdays, for 6 months straight. he also drank 17-18 cans of beer, puked, blacked out, and was driven home by guys who had the same amount of alcohol. and he went to strip clubs but..supposedly just stood in the corner. he swears he didn't cheat....but now i'm not sure what to believe.

i am SO SO relieved that he told me that. he says he's sorry for lying and that he is very glad he got this off of his chest and he feels like we're closer now. which is amazing because we never really have "intimate" talks about really personal stuff.

he wants me to drink with him. (every once in awhile). he wants me to go to parties with him also only every once in awhile. i am afraid to drink. i'm afraid to see how he'll act towards me while he's drunk because i've never been in his presence while he was intoxicated.

my questions are:
*i'm a little ticked off about him lying to me. is that wrong??
*is it THAT bad to encourage you to wait until you're 21 to drink??
*should i consider drinking with him(not getting wasted, only like 1-2 beers)?? i would like to do it but i don't know.
any thoughts or advice about my situation?
THANKS!!
He shouldn't have lied to you, but at least he confessed.

Age is just a number. In this case, waiting until you're 21 is all about abiding by the law, and not so much your health. Alcohol is just as dangerous when you're 21 as when you're 16. There are worse ways to break the law. I'm not sure if that answer made sense..

I don't think you should avoid something just because it's illegal. Just because it's a law, doesn't mean it's "right." On the other hand, you obviously don't want to get dangerously drunk. Alcohol should be treated like a beverage; if you only like alcohol because of its extreme side effects, you should really consider your situation.

Q: Recently I've noticed that I seem to be carrying excessive things in my handbag or missing some vital things, so I'm just wondering; what do you, girls, keep in your handbag that you take with you wherever? The things that you always have in your hand bag?

Thanks :)
wallet (money, id, debit card)
lipgloss/chapstick
cellphone
digital camera
glasses (i need them to drive)
mints/gum
purell

sometimes all i have is my phone and wallet. it depends on the situation.

Q: I heard that Billy Mays (inventor of mighty putty, oxiclean, orange glo, etc. & was famous for those crazy infomercials) died at age 50 on June 28, 2009 (yesterday). Somebody posted it on MySpace and when I logged in I saw it and was like, "Billy Mays died TOO!?" I mean, Michael Jackson just died a few days ago! What's with all of the celebrities dying and stuff, right?

Anyway, is it true that Billy Mays died?

How did Billy Mays die, if so?
I heard that turbulence caused stuff to fall on his head on a flight. He claimed to be fine, but never woke up the next morning.

Also, I don't think he invented Mighty Putty and Oxiclean and all that stuff. I'm pretty sure he was just the advertiser.

Q: Alright, so I'm 15 and I'm gunna be a sophmore after this summer is over. I was thinking about where I can get new clothes for this summer and maybe even this fall for back to school. I'm not into the whole pay a hundred dollars for a tanktop with a bird on it scene. I'm getting paid around 50 dollars a week for babysitting, and I need to find places where I can get decent clothes like you'd find at places like PacSun, Hottopic, Hollister, etc. but not nearly as expensive, 'cause if I only have 50 dollars, I don't wanna blow all 50 on one thing. I live in MA, does anybody have any ideas? Also I can't shop online because I don't have a credit card and I'm pretty sure my mom doesn't either.
Thanks!
Try Wet Seal, Target, Marshall's... Wait for big sales! Aeropostale has periodic 50% off sales and things like that.

Q: Why do people insist on bashing Michael Jackson after he's died? The man lost his life long before he died! Why can't we just let the King of Pop rest in peace now?

I went to Yahoo! Answers to ask a question about Michael Jackson and people just went nuts over him being a child molester and pedophile and how he tried to kill his youngest child (Prince Michael II) called Blanket. They kept talking about how awful he was and I wasn't even asking a question about that!

Why do people insist on this now? It's only hurting the Michael Jackson fans who are trying to deal with this grief. I feel like I can't talk about him positively without someone coming in and saying how he was such a horrible person and deserved to die. I just don't understand why people seem to be trolling about Michael Jackson at this time--when he JUST died! Help me understand?
Some people just like attention, some people just like to talk. Either way the people "answering" your question probably not trying to personally attack you or your beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

On the other hand, it seems to me that the people I know are suddenly becoming fans after MJ's death. It's like, now that he's dead, he was this great person and the King of Pop and all that jazz, when a month ago no one really cared.

I'm not sure if that answered your question, or had anything to do with your question. Just putting that out there.

Q: What is the deal with people talking about Helen Keller and stuff? Who in the world is Helen Keller? I mean, it's in that one song by 3OH!3 and I'm just confused. Maybe Helen Keller is not a person but a thing? What is Helen Keller then? I'm sick and tired of not knowing and I feel so stupid.

Oh, and speaking of the 3OH!3 song ("Don't Trust Me")...how do you do the Helen Keller?
Helen Keller was both blind and deaf, and overcame it (hence the fame.) "Do the Helen Keller, and talk with your hips" simply means that you should use physical communication instead of verbal communication - aka, dance, don't talk. It's just clever wordplay.

Q: I tried to search Google for Michael Jackson information yesterday and it said something about me being spyware or something! What is going on? I just searched about Michael Jackson since he died and I was so shocked and Google wouldn't let me! What's going on? How do I get my spyware off?!
So many people searched "Michael Jackson" on Google that the whole engine had to shut down for twenty minutes. You probably managed to search him during those twenty minutes; I'm sure your computer is fine.

Q: I'm 15 and I raise guppies for fun in a large aquarium. Guppies multiply quickly! I have been giving most of them away to a local petstore with the help of my parents. The last time I was at the store I noticed that there were very few fish... and not much business... I became fairly certain that the majority of the fish were dying. My parents either did not notice or do not care, and want me to contimue giving my fish to this store. Furthurmore, I do not know of another store who will take the extra fish. Raising guppies has been a fun hobby and I don't want to stop, but I don't know what to do... I don't want to keep handing over fish to be killed in a poor aquarium enviroment. Any advice would be appreciated!
I personally wouldn't feel comfortable sending the guppies there, but before you do anything you should probably inquire as to where the guppies are. For all you know, they could be stored in a different room, or maybe someone did come and buy them all.

If neglect really is the case, and there isn't another, better pet store near you, try offering to help take care of the guppies after you hand them over. Or, mention it to your parents, and see what they think. (It could very well be that, because they don't share the guppie-breeding passion, they haven't noticed anything wrong yet.) Good luck!

Q: I play volleyball for my school, and I like it, but I wouldn't say it's my LIFE. I mean, I know it won't be my career or anything, I'm mainly just doing it as a hobby and because it's a good way to make friends. Well, my coach is kind of...religious. Not "kind of" actually, like REALLY religious. I don't normally cuss or anything but she won't let us use any swear words or substitutes for swear words (dang, darn, shoot, etc.) She also is completely against us having boyfriends. On of my friends who was on the team gave her boyfriend a little kiss and my coach saw, and my friend got kicked off. She doesn't allow piercings or tattoos. We can't wear certain things to school even if they aren't against the dress code of our school. Basically, she's just REALLY strict. I mean, I understand that we have to represent our school and stuff and she is a REALLY great coach. Like, the best I've ever had. But I don't really like that some of her rules involve my personal life... For example, I've been thinking about getting a belly button piercing. I've wanted one for a long time, and my mom would let me because she thinks they're cute. But if my coach saw she would totally kick me off :( I've been thinking about quitting lately... I love playing and all my team mates, but it just puts limits on my personal life. I just don't like having to always think "Is this going to get me kicked off?". Well, thanks for reading. Any and all advice is welcome.
I don't know anything about your school, but it sounds like your volleyball coach is crossing the line. She should only be putting restrictions on your personal life when it affects your volleyball skills (ie, diet.) I think you should talk to your teammates and see if anyone wants to go with you to talk to someone - a guidance counselor, the principal, the athletics director.. It's great that your coach wants to make you into better people, but she shouldn't be imposing her own personal beliefs upon you.

And even if she is allowed to make rules about boyfriends and such (I suppose the swearing is generally disrespectful and bad sportsmanship, and that relationships could take time away from volleyball), she should not be kicking people off the team for having boyfriends. Or at least, that's my opinion. Good luck!

Q: My 17-year-old son, "Seth," is set to go off to college. He is going to a state university about 20 minutes from our home.

When filling out the paperwork for school, I did not sign him up to live on campus. His behavior during his senior year was less than stellar. I felt he needed to prove himself a little before I spent the money for him to live on campus. He's furious with me, and I admit I am second-guessing my decision as I talk to other parents whose kids are all living on campus.

I want my son to be independent. I told him if he did well the first semester he could live there the second semester. Did I do the right thing?
I'm a 17-year-old going into college, and it sounds like a good compromise to me. If he acted that foolishly senior year (although most students do, it's senior year after all) he probably would only have gotten worse in college. You probably should have told him first, though. Let him know that you want him to go to school for education AND a social life, not one or the other. Maybe give him a certain GPA to reach, and if he makes it, pay for room & board. If he does well but not as well as you wanted, let him live there if he pays for it.

I know you don't want him to become a party student, but don't deprive him of a true college experience. I think the one semester at home was a good way to show him that you're in charge, and that you mean business. Remind him that a lot of students commute, and they're all just fine. Good luck.

Q: Hey i see you've had some problems with drugs . i am 15 year old female .can you try helping me out .. This summer i was completely drug free . I satrted hangin with the wrong people to early . I started cutting school ALOT i failed everythign my parents still don't know =/ . Then i started smoking cigarets ,then weed . When that phase was over i started doing ecstasy and now i sniff coke . I want to do good in school and family but i just don't want to quit cocaine its something ido for my self , to relax kind off . what do you think ? how should i start of fixing this whole situation ?
I have no idea how you should go about changing (maybe ask a teacher, guidance counselor, or therapist?) but I want you to know that you've already gotten past the first, huge step. You realized you have a problem and you want to fix it, and I'm really, really proud of you. Congratulations, and good luck!

Q: I am in a Summer Enrichment Program through my local Youth Assistance, and it's like theatre camp for elementary kids and middle school kids.

I'm with 4th graders in the morning, and the "teacher" or leader of the class asked me to come up with theatre games so that we have a new game every day to play.

We have 24 days total, but with today over, we have 23 days left.

Obviously I don't expect each person to give 23 ideas, but maybe if you give 5-10 game ideas, that would be cool.

For example, today we played "Murder Mystery" where you sit in a circle and one person is the murderer and they wink at people to "kill" them. And there's a person in the center trying to guess who the murderer is.

Games like that are what I mean. Thanks so much! =]
Sounds similar to a game we play at camp, Indian Chief. Everyone sits in a circle except for one designated guesser, who closes their eyes or leaves or something. The group picks an Indian Chief, who starts a repetitive movement, like clapping. The Chief can change the pattern at any time (ie. by tapping his head or snapping), but the rest of the group must do whatever he/she does. The guesser is called back in, and must observe the circle (preferably from within it) and figure out who the Chief is. The trick is to not look directly at the Chief.

We also played a type of murder mystery game. Everyone sits still with their eyes closed and the game's leader silently chooses a murderer and an angel. While everyone's eyes are still closed, the murderer chooses someone to kill. The leader tells an elaborate story about how the townspeople awoke to find so-and-so dead. Then, the townspeople vote on who they think is the murderer - obviously, the angel tries to tell the people who the murderer is, but if he/she is too obvious, the murderer will figure out who the angel is and kill him/her next. If the townspeople guess correctly, they win and the town is safe. If not, the murderer kills again.

There's always Seven-Up, where all but seven people close their eyes and put their thumbs up. The seven special people choose seven others (one each) by putting their thumbs down, and then the chosen people have to guess who picked them. If they guess correctly, they switch with the person who picked them. If not, they remain in the crowd.

You could also try charades! Throw some scenarios into a hat, and you can play in groups or individually. Some fun scenarios are: being deep-fried, animals at a zoo, dunk tank, infants, old people, etc.

Good luck, have fun!

Q: Do you think that it is ok to go to prom w/o a date? 17/f
Yes! I did it, and I don't regret it. Before you go, make sure that you're happy with your decision. Most of the people at your prom are going to be couples, make sure you can handle that without feeling too self-concious. And try to go with other single friends, that makes it way more fun!

In my opinion, single is the way to go. I went to my junior prom with a date who was nice and attractive enough, but I didn't really like him. Needless to say, we were together all night, and I didn't really get to see my friends. This year I went with a bunch of friends and had a much better time.

Good luck deciding, and have fun!

Q: Ok this is going to sound really weird but like im 17 female and like since summer started i have been sweating a lot. I mean a lot. I put on a shirt and within 1 hour the armpit part of my shirt is wet. I'm a skiny girl and I dont no why this happens to me! Sometimes it makes my shirts by the armpits turn like yellowish brown and its disguesting. Ive tried wearing different kinds of deodorants but nothing works! Any advice?
I'm honored that you asked me, but I honestly don't know the answer to this one ): I'm sorry! I would ask a doctor about it.

Don't worry, they won't be weirded out, they've seen weirder things. And it isn't your fault, it seems to be something your body is doing on its own, without strenous excercise or really any other logical reason.. Mention the fact that deodorants aren't working.

Okay, I just WebMD-searched it, and it sounds like you could have hyperhidrosis - which basically means you sweat too much. Wikipedia says that there are treatments for hyperhidrosis, which go from non-prescription drugs to prescription drugs to surgery. (It also says that regular antiperspirants usually aren't concentrated enough for people with hyperhidrosis, which would explain your situation.) I would definitely suggest seeing a doctor. In the meantime, stick to sleeveless shirts and take frequent bathroom breaks to, uh, wipe yourself down. It could be worse!

Good luck!

Q: I'm making an ultimae reading list. THIS INCLUDES A BUNCH OF BOOKS i WANT TO READ. I need ideas. I like reading about the supernatural. I love fashion and acting. I like mysterys and books that are surching for dad people.

I've already read Lovely Bones-- AMAZING
No Twilight, Clique, Gossip Girl, A List (read all except Twilight--lame)

thanks!!
Hmm. Those aren't usually the types of books I'm into, so I can't give a great answer, but I think you should look at The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde, and obviously the Nancy Drew series. On another note, I realize Twilight may not sound interesting to you, but it isn't fair to call it lame without having read it.

Q: i have the original iPod nano with 2gb, and i thought that you could only have 500 songs on it, but i have 506 songs on it now, with album art, so i was wondering if you knew why.
Every song is a different size, depending on its length (and other things I'm not quite sure of.) This means that a 2GB nano (which I also have, by the way!) can hold approximately 500 songs, depending on how big the songs are. Also, if you have tons of playlists or pictures, there's less room for songs.

Q: i put some pictures on one of those blank CDs that you buy at walmart..and i was wondering how i can take those off??
You've got quite a few responses, but I thought I'd come and add to it all. I think Kate has the best answer here: you can take pictures off CD-RWs, but not CD-Rs. Unless of course you mean you want to copy the pictures to your computer, which is possible with both.

When you put the CD into your computer, a window should pop up asking what you want to do with the CD. If not, go to My Computer and double-click on the thumbnail representation of the CD. You should find yourself looking at all the files on the CD; from here you can delete, copy, or cut as you wish.

If you have a Mac, putting the CD in should put a shortcut button on your desktop. Double-click on that, and then you can do the same thing.

Q: i dont really know if this question will go through or not..but it's worth a shot..and i dont really know how many people will..but hopefully some.

me and my mom just learned today that here next month..we'll be loosing our house. i know it's kinda weird asking this..but i need as much help as i can..
