Who is Helen Keller? How do you do the Helen Keller?
Question Posted Saturday June 27 2009, 7:06 pm
What is the deal with people talking about Helen Keller and stuff? Who in the world is Helen Keller? I mean, it's in that one song by 3OH!3 and I'm just confused. Maybe Helen Keller is not a person but a thing? What is Helen Keller then? I'm sick and tired of not knowing and I feel so stupid.
Oh, and speaking of the 3OH!3 song ("Don't Trust Me")...how do you do the Helen Keller?

She had to be taught how to speak and communicate with her hands and/or body language. She was an American author, political activist and lecturer. She was the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was well traveled and was outspoken in her opposition to war. She campaigned for womens suffrage, workers rights and socialism as well as many other progressive causes. You should rent the movie called The Miracle Worker. Its a reinactment about Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan. You might like it.
Some people are offended by the song lyrics because they feel Helen Keller was an amazing and inspirational woman despite her disability and they feel as though 3OH!3 is making fun of people with disabiilties or sending the wrong message to children about people with disabilities.
