I had black hair before I bleached it and now my roots are platinum blonde and my hair is an orange color. I'm planning on going to the salon tomorrow, can they do anything to change the color/make it lighter? Should I add highlights to cover up the orange? What should I do? (link)

They should be able to change the color. There are dyes out there to contrast the orange (i believe it is a very subtle blue tone) and make it more natural looking. I usually go to Sally Beauty Supply to get the stuff for my hair. They will definitely have a toner for orange hair. That is probably what they will do at the salon if they do not just bleach the ends again to even it out.

I'm looking to make some extra money and I have noticed that there are lots of toddlers in my neighborhood. I am going to take a babysitting class where I learn the heimlich maneuver, etc.
Other information:
I am in 10th grade. (Straight A student!..but that probably doesnt help)
16 years old and a girl.
We live in a middle class neighborhood
How much should I charge? I was thinking 8 dollars per hour, + 2 dollars per hour with any amount of friends over. Is that too much?

Usually when I baby-sit I charge $5 and hour for each child unless its over 2 children then its like $2 an hour per additional child. (5 children = $10 for the first two and $6 extra for the other three) It keeps it cheap but not so cheap your not making any money. It also depends on the age of the child. If your going to be cooking and cleaning while there, charge an extra $1 or $2 an hour for the extra work involved. Children that are almost capable of taking care of themselves (around 10-13 years old) charge a little less since there is less involved. I never charged if there were friends over since the friends are usually making your job a little easier by doing the entertaining for you.

I am a dual Canadian/ American citizen and just got into Parsons, which is kindof pricey. I am wondering if there is some sort of American scholarship database that will allow me to look for scholarships that I may be able to apply to?
I have lived most of my life in Canada (and am a current resident of the country), and my guidance counselors really have no idea about the subject, so any help is useful.
If it helps, my grades are in the high 80s (which I think in America would be close to a 4.0, but slightly under), my SAT scores totaled 2010, and I do a bunch of extracurricular stuff around my school. Need based stuff doesn't totally work for me, since my parents can technically afford the education but are understandably disgruntled about it. (link)

mmkay so my parents aren't allowing me to get a hair straightner because they don't want my hair to become damaged and eventually fall out. And I have naturally straight hair but it still wavys a bit and never goes the way I want it too. I love it when my hair is straightened and stick straight, so is there a way I can get my hair stick straight without using a hair straightener?
I mean I've been blowing drying it for a long time now and it works some what, but not completely. So if someone could give me some tips, that'd be great.

There are hairbrushes designed to act similar to a straightener. Go to walmart and get one. They are pretty cheap. Here is a website that carries them. Walmart does not have them posted on their website but I know all the ones around here carry something like this for like $10 (you will find it with all the other hair accessories)

I need advice. So me and my boyfriend have been dating for four months and just recently he broke up with me for 2 reasons one of them being because i go to college far away and because he said he wants to get his life together and he wants a girlfriend he can see as often as he like...he also said he still cares for me alot and likes me alot but he cant do the long distance relationship now. I acted pretty cool about the decision AND said we can remain close friends but i was wondering if there is anyway to get back with him or if he would even want to get back with me? (link)

Long distance relationships are very difficult to maintain. It may just be time for you to go ahead in your life and allow him to do the same. He is at least being mature and wanting to continue a friendship which does mean that he cares. If you too care about him, then you should be willing to try to let go and see where the future takes you. Its possible that after college you two will get back together or maybe you will meet someone new that becomes just as special to you as he was.
I would try to keep in contact with him on a friendly basis and try to go on for now. There really is no sure-fire way of convincing him to get back together with you. He may just realize that he can't live without you and be willing to try a long distance relationship after all.
Just try to give him some space for now. After all, you moving away is going to be very difficult on the both of you.

15/f about to go on pill. I am not sexually active but want to go on pill for benefits such as no cramps, since mine can get bad, and shorter n lighter periods. But I want to know if you think the pill will kind of encourage me to have sex, like make it seem like its not a big deal because im protected. My friends say im very sexual, because I say a lot of sexual things, like who i would and wud not have sex with, how and why, sex jokes, and kinky things i guess. I'll admit i kind of want to but at the same time i dont want to take the pill if Im going to get Motivated to have sex. (link)

The pill doesn't change anything except that your taking a pill to either prevent pregnancy or take care of a problem with your period.
I have been on it for over a year and it didn't change much for me.
The ultimate decision to have sex is yours. No pill is going to change what you concent to doing. Just be careful and remember it is 99% effective against pregnancy when taken properly and 0% effective against STDs

It is possible to have the abortion as long as it is legal in your state. A lot of places do it up until the end of the third month. i do know of some doctors offices here that will do it up until the end of the fourth month, but it is not a common thing. As someone else has said, it is a dangerous procedure especially as you get further into the pregnancy.
She could be telling you the truth.. but probably not.

about a week ago, i finished my period. and ever since then, ive still been getting bad cramps, and have had a lot of brown discharge. i dont think there is any odour, but i know for sure its brown and that i have had cramps. i am sexually active, however its been a few weeks since the last time i had sex (a week before my period) does anyone have any thoughts? comments? thanks very much. any help is greatly appreciated. I'm pretty sure it is normal. I actually went to the doctor for what seems to be the same reason and she told me it was just the "leftovers" from your period. I too had horrible cramping and discharge. I ended up being put on the birth control pill to help with the cramping and other symptoms. It really is a good idea to do if you have problems with your period and/or are sexually active.

I have a weird lump in my left breast. But I am only 14. Its been there for about 1 or 2 weeks. Can you get breast cancer when you're only 14? I'm not sure, but I'm scared it might be something. Or are lumps normal? Its in my nipple, but I can't feel it when my nipples are hard.. (link)

It is possible to get breast cancer that young, but unlikely. I'm not sure if it's normal or not though. I would recommend talking to your mom or another OLDER female you are comfortable with. They might recommend you going to the doctor just to be sure it is nothing.

I'm 17, female, and I am gay.
I haven't come out yet, but I recently told my close friends about a sexual experience I've had not long ago with a girl. They were interested, but strangely the question about my sexuality never came up. I think this is because I often get drunk and kiss girls, and they probably assumed that this was similar but just went further.
I have a boy friend. I know I know this sounds strange. He's 20 and we've been together for around 4 months. We've been going out on/off for almost 5 years. It's like hanging out with your best friend. I've known him since I was 8 years old and we have a laugh together. Recently he's told me he's falling in love with me again and has even told his friends that we're back together (which is a big deal to him).
I know a lot of your advice will be to break it off with my boy friend before any one gets hurt but i'm afraid that it's too late for that. I care deeply about this guy and yes, we do have sex but for me, it's like an extension of friendship. It doesn't really do anything for me. I want to continue going out with him. I am 100% in this relationship. I am committed to making him happy, and he is to me as well.
I will continue to have sexual relations with girls whilst with my boy friend. For me, this is just learning more about my sexuality and it doesn't really feel like cheating. I wouldn't have another relationship or anything like that. My boy friend knows that I am attracted to girls and we have discussed our "boundries" - he said that he doesn't mind that much about girls because his jealousy stems from insecurity about himself, and he can't compare himself to a girl.

I would like to come out to my friends. The thing is, I haven't known I'm gay for very long at all. But I'm the kinda person who tells her friends everything. Should I wait longer? Should I not tell them because of my boyfriend? My friends have met my boyfriend and they see him occasionally at parties and stuff. They wouldn't tell him I know that for sure. I also know they would be 100% supportive and are probably expecting it.
You all think I should tell my boy friend don't you. *sigh*. Do you think he might not mind if I make clear I want to continue our relationship?

Wow. That sounds complicated. Your first step is to make sure that is really what you want. If you think this could be a phase of curiousity, then you should evaluate what is going on in your life.
Is this a recent attraction? If so, there may be something causing it that could cause you to make a mistake with your boyfriend.
If you decide you have made the right decision, you need to sit down and talk with your boyfriend about your decision. Even if your not completely sure with yourself, you should talk to him about it. Your friends would also be a great place to turn to for some help.
If you are truly gay, then you probably don't really want to be with your boyfriend and he is a security blanket. You really do need to just sit down and think it out before you do anything drastic.

I am not sure where you live, but here there are always a ton of seasonal stores that pop up and carry costumes like that. You might check around and see. if not, then try a vintage place for the skirt. the shoes, go with black flats, i would keep the hair straight, as for the ears, I am not really sure.
If you can't find a specialty store, then try a regular costume shop. They actually might carry all of the elements you need. Also, the ears might be found at like walmart or something..

There's a movie that I really like a lot, except for the fact that a couple of parts are bad. My question: Can I buy it off of iTunes and then edit the bad parts out on my Mac? Or maybe could I buy the DVD, rip it, then edit the bad parts out? I'm not completely sure, but it could be caused by malabsorption of nutrients. Basically, your body is either getting too much of those nutrients and flushing them out or isn't absorbing them properly. It may be normal.

Well, first off. It does depend on the people. Some will cuddle up and go to sleep. My boyfriend and I like to cuddle for a while and then i go home. Sometimes you just get dressed and its over. It really does depend solely on the situation.
As for does it hurt. It does. Especially at first. It also depends on your body as to how long and how much it hurts. It's something most people get over or get used to. It can be really bad at times and others its not painful at all.

I have an odd chest. My breast sit about 3-4 inched apart. That is to say, the flat sternum (breast bone) part between my breasts is about 3-4 inches wide. I currently wear a size 40C bra and my breast look weird spread so far apart. Can any of you reccomend a good bra or some scheme that will push them together a bit more?

If your looking for something fairly cheap, Vassarette makes a bra with gel in the bottom of the cups that gives you lift and doesn't make you look fake. I'm really not sure of the name, but they come in black and nude at wal*mart for like $12.
Hanes also has a bra that is the BEST pushup i have even worn. It's in their loveable line of bras. They have padding in the bottom of the cups and have front hooks so you can adjust the cleavage on them. Wal*Mart also carries them for like $10.

Well. I wouldn't worry about it too much yet. Stressing out is just going to cause you more problems. I have been in that situation where you think you may be pregnant, and i found out stress can cause your period to come late. Give it a little bit then start to worry. If you don't have your period about a week after schedule, then take a pregnancy test and go from there. You can always find a free clinic nearby and have them check it out. They also offer cheap or even free birth control methods to help relieve the worries of sex. Be careful.
