Me and my significant other want to eventually get married. The other night I was talking to her about it and she told me about an old Celtic ceremony. In this ceremony the bride and groom draw blood from their palm and join the 2 wounded hands. When they join hands a cloth is then wrapped around them as a seal to the bond. I'm looking for something that can help me verify this information. Any links are greatly appreciated, books would also be a great help.

Paris is infact NOT the fashion capital of the world. Milan, Italy; however, is. New York, Paris, Milan, Tokyo, those are all great places to see phenominal fashion!

I just found out my boyfriend does Dip
Im not really sure what that is, and I'm soo confused why he would do it! What are the cons of it, and can anyone explain what I should do about it? He doesn't know I know...

This is mostly an opinionated answer. Dip is the most disgusting thing anyone could do. Dip is a form of tobacco that most people put between their bottom lip and teeth and leave it there until they feel the need to spit it out. Why anyone would find joy in this, I have no clue. I'm not sure exactly but I know that a prolonged use of tobacco can deteriorate the jaw, teeth, and gums.

Just talk to him about it and tell him how you feel about it and ask him to stop. Chewing tobacco is an addiction and is just as hard to come off of as any other drug addiction! Get him help soon.

I have verizon and I was wondering if someone could find out what your text messages say. I know about the whole go online and you can see the number and time. Yesterday someone who knows a lot about technology told me you can call up verizon and ask what they said and they will tell you, is this true?

The only way that anyone could find out what your texts say is if you still have them on the phone in the inbox/outbox. I'm pretty sure Verizon has a privacy policy where they cant give out information. I don't even think they know what the text messages say anyways. All someone could find out is the date and time, and who (number) you sent it to. Thats it.

Alright, so basically, my hair is really frizzy, dry, coarse, think, and hard to manage. It takes me forever just to straighten it. And even then it doesn’t look shiny and smooth. So I was wondering, are relaxers good for your hair? You know the ones that you can buy in a box at the store. Because I've literally tried everything, but nothing helps my hair, believe me.

Also...What exactly are relaxers supposed to do for your hair? Thanks in advance!

Well I've never tried the relaxers from the stores. I've always had mine done in the salon. I wouldnt recommend you doing it yourself unless you are pretty confident in what you are doing. There are 2 kinds of relaxers. Semi-permanent and Permanent. It works the same as hair color. Semi-Permanent temporarily straightens your hair and will eventually fade out. Permanent is in there until new hair grows back. Just as hair color, you have to keep up with roots because your hair will grow back naturally. So you'll have to treat the new growth. Which can get tricky if you arent a professional. A relaxer takes the curl out of your hair and it makes your hair soft and smooth. I had hair like you the first time I ever had it done and I was AMAZED at the results. It is much easier to straighten now and it feels very soft. It's still thick, but its not as bad when it's straight. I'm not sure how effective the D-I-Y relaxers are because like I said I've had mine done in a salon. But to get my entire head done it was about 90 dollars. Then touch ups are cheaper because it's just the roots. Makes sense no? I dont know what else to say I think I have said all I could so I hope I helped you.

Before I go, just a tip, basic rule of a relaxer is once its in your hair you CANNOT get it wet AT ALL for 3 days. No spray, no water, no washing it, no nothing for 3 days. I also found that avoiding situations where you could sweat also help because when you sweat, your scalp gets wet too. Just a hint of advice. If you need to know anything else please let me know!

13/f ( I NEED HELP, NOW!)

So recently my friends dyed their hair pink, they thought it was like a temp. 6-8 washes will get it out sort of thing. They found out it was permanent..and that they would have to grow it out, or cut it to get the pink out.

I really wanted to dye my hair pink..but now i'm deciding between Pink and Blue..i have a dirty blonde/brown hair color. My mom wants me to get highlights. Plz tell me your opionion..and if i should TEMP or PERMANENTLY dye my hair

Well I dont know what your school's standards are. But I know in my school, having odd colored hair is against dress code. Maybe you can get pink highlights :D Otherwise, unless you are SURE you want to have pink hair..go with the Temp dye! You never know, you may dye it and not like it! :/

Mcdonalds definately hires at 15.
Big Lots is another one if you have them up north.
Umm, not many places hire until 16.
Due to child labor laws and what not.
Even then at 16 it's tough as HELL to get a job!
Just don't give up and apply EVERYWHERE you can!

I'm with verizon and my plan for texting right now is Unlimited to all Verizon users and 500 to any other network. It's only $10 extra and definately worth it if you have alot of friends on Verizon too!

The newest plan they have is Unlimited to ANY network and I think that one might be $30 dollars extra. Not sure exactly on it's price but if you text alot and have alot of friends all on different networks..this might be the plan for you!

I'm sure they might have some other plans, you'll have to go to a verizon store and ask them specifically but these are the two I am familiar with!

ok, so i have a kodak camera [somewhat new] and i have a puppy, and she chewed on the wire a little, it still like all together, but its deffinitley opened up. and i don't know what to do. can i get a new camera? or how could i fix it?

If you want it to look brand new again, taking to the store you got it from is your best bet!

But if you dont mind using tape. Then heres an idea for you: Since its a wire, use electrical tape. Its a tape specially designed for wires. It allows you to cover the exposed wires safely and still let the electric current go through. Now I think you can get it at Walmart or Home Depot or Lowes might be your best bet. But the tape comes in different colors, I'm not sure which colors exactly but I know they have black and white for sure! Definately something to look into if you cant afford a new camera! Plus, if everything works fine and the wire is just cut open, taping it up is a much better idea than buying a new one all together.

Next time be more careful! Your puppy could get seriously injured!

This is a repeated conflict between my husband and I. I was raised that whoever has the most means should pay; he was raised that the parent always pays, no matter what. We have two small children and a very busy lifestyle. My dad is retired (divorced and alone) and comes over for dinner often. Sometimes I cook, sometimes we get takeout, occasionally we go to Friendly's. My dad never chips in a dime or picks up after himself or offers to bring anything. This infuraties my husband to no end; he calls my dad a cheapskate and says he hates him. My mother and stepfather and my mother-in-law NEVER LET US PAY FOR ANYTHING. My Dad has no idea the conflict he causes in my marriage; we've been married for 8 years and have fought about this at least fifty times. WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK?

Well, you're dad could be more of a gentleman and show more respect for you and your husband. But, he's a man. That's how men are. They are pigs who take take take take take and give absolutely nothing in return. Now your husband is a bit childish for saying he hates your father for not chipping in. Strongly dislike, maybe. But anyways, maybe you could talk to your dad. Or the next time he comes over and doesn't pick up his dishes maybe you could say something to him or threaten him to never come over again. lol. Bottom line though: He's a man. You can't expect ANYTHING out of a man. Except to make children. That's all they are good for lol. I hope I helped!

Two of my best friends (girls) and I invited a guy to an amusement park for Friday. We asked him to bring a couple of other guys, and we won`t know one of them. They all play hockey and one is a professional in the WHL which is kind of exciting (and they just won the Memorial Cup - if you follow).

We almost never talked to the guy we invited at school because things were just always really weird because he can get shy. Other than talking about hockey, how do we make it less awkward?

Any conversation tips, good topics to bring up with guys you don`t really know, or anything like that is a lot of help! We will be together for at least seven hours there, and might go to a bonfire that night (which will be fine since other people are there).

Also, when we are each with a guy on a ride, how do we make that one-on-one situation not awkward? I don`t scream on rides, which is good but if we have nothing to talk about we`re basically strapped in for the whole awkward ride.

Haha it seems so unnatural to ask this, but please help! Any insight would be great. Thanks =)

Well, I would think an amusement park wouldn't be awkward. You don't have to talk on a ride, most people I know are too busy going "Weeeee....OMG This is SO fun!!!!" just talk about the ride you are on, which ones you liked best, which ones you hated, anything.

Ok so basically I watch my weight a lot & today I had a bowl of Special K & a few snacks throughout the day, knowing I'd be going to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. So I scan the menu, noticing how there's a lot of burgers & things of that sort. I see the Shrimp Pasta Parmasean thinking, oh shrimp, noodles, how bad can that be? Oh boy was I wrong. I looked up the nutrition facts when I got home and it was 1221 calories! Not including bread or appetizers. So basically I'm extremely upset. I've always had a mental weight problem & didn't like overdoing it with the calories. What can I do to relieve myself of stress & feeling this way. I took my dog for a walk so maybe that burned off some, but I'm still worried about it. I'm going to run in the morning for 20-30 minutes, but is there anything else I can do tonight or should I wait until the morning? Thanks!

Well, If it was JUST this one day, I wouldnt worry too much about it. Your body needs variation in calories anyways. Walking and running will definately help you to not gain weight. But chances are you wont gain anyways. And if you do, it will be subtle, like MAYBE 1 pound. If even that. So don't worry, you wont get fat! Just relax. Eating something heavy in calories wont hurt you if you do it VERY sparingly (which you seem like you do). But to avoid such occasions in the future. When you find out you are going to a restaurant ahead of time; Check out their website. Most restaurants have a website with the nutritional information on it. So if you look at it before hand you'll know what foods you can have and what foods are too high in calories. Although, most restaurants have high calorie foods anyways. I read a tip somewhere recently and if you order a to go box with your order, you can put maybe half of what you ordered in the to go box for the next day so you wont be eating as many calories at that meal and that way you can also order what ever you like!

Secret Lovers is the name of the song. Not sure who made it famous but it doesnt matter. Just type in the name and if there's more than one artist that comes up, download em, sample em, and see which ones you like best! The version I have is by Atlantic Star or something like that.

It is now as far as legal issues go. However, the second he turns 18, he could go to jail because you are still a minor. How likely is it? Not very unless you have sex, and get pregnant. Then there could be some problems. But right now, if you are happy and he's happy; why break a happy thing up? You're okay :)

I lost my phone today and i was wondering if verizon still sells the vx9800 in stores or do i have to buy it from LG?? hey, well i'm 14/f. how old do you have to be to get a tattoo?? i know i'm to young now, but how long would i have to wait?? cause i really want one. a small one on my foot. see, my cousin and half-sis both have a tattoo on their feet, and i think it looks soo cute!! my cousin has her sign (leo) and my sister has that one thing sign from the video "Where is the love?" with the little box with the question mark, and around the box it says where is the love, and i can't remember what is on the other foot. and also, how bad does it hurt?? it looks like it would hurt pretty badly, and i don't always handle pain very well. like, what does it feel like? is there any examples? if and when i get one, i want it to be one of those Fleur-de-lis and it would probably be in pink. would that be cute?? i know i'm thinking of this too soon, but i think its fun to just think of different things that would be cute. anyways, thanks a bunch!!! I may be wrong but I think you can get a tattoo at 16 (maybe at any age under 18) with your parent's permission. They have to sign a form of some sort with the parlor you have it done at. Otherwise you have to be 18. Different states vary because of different laws. In Tennessee you are considered an "adult" at 18. Where as in Texas it might be 17. You know what I mean?

I have never had one done (yet) but from what I understand it hurts like hell. They drag a needle full of ink through your skin basically. So I would imagine the pain is pretty high. But then again, I've never had it done.

I have no idea what a Fleur-de-lis is so I can't help you there. However, I do think the zodiac sign is a cute idea though. Whatever you get, make sure it really means something to you. Because once it is put in, it will never come out.

i've had limewire for a while and today i keep clicking on it to open it but it doesn't pop up on my computer. whats wrong? i turned off my firewall too.

I had that same problem! I have no idea what caused it but for the longest time it wouldn't let me open it. I think I even reinstalled it and it STILL wouldn't, so I switched to morpheus. Then my dad wiped out my computer and when I reinstalled it, it worked fine then. :/ I know this doesn't help you much but maybe you'll have better luck than I did if you uninstall it, restart your computer (shut it down, then turn it back on), then try installing it again :/

Dinner is included but be warned; you don't get silverware. The medieval times dinner show I went to in South Carolina served us garlic bread, soup, chiken, spare rib, seasoned potato, and a little dessert. You have to eat it all with your fingers. :) But it wasn't bad. I enjoyed it. You'll have alot of fun!
