ok my period is being weird on me..im not pregnent or anything...

well anyway if i get my period should i not go to this asmusement park with my friends?i've never worn a tampon before and there will be a pool there..is it hard to get the tampon thing right? shoshould i lie and say i cant go because im sick? we are going to go again in a couple weeks anyway..

any tips on tampons and how they should feel? what are signs that i have to change my tampon? i reeaLLY wanna avoid embarassment.
thanks for all help

First of all, women stop bleeding when they're immersed in water, so you shouldn't bleed while you're actually in the pool.

There's not much point in wearing a pad into the pool because it will get waterlogged and uncomfortable as hell.

A tampon is very comfortable - when it's in right, you shouldn't even feel it. I suggest you buy the smallest size (sometimes called junior or slender regular). Your first time trying it, lie down on your back in bed and get relaxed and comfortable. Gently feel around down there with your finger (wash your hands first) and put your finger into your vagina first so you have a good idea where it is and what it feels like to put something in it. Before you try to insert the tampon, make sure that the cardboard tube on the outside is sliding easily (sometimes they hang up a little), and then slowly and gently insert the tampon as far into yourself as possible. The main mistake girls make is not to put it in far enough, and if it isn't in all the way, it hurts. Then slide the covering off (make sure you pull out both the inner and outer tube, if it's that kind), make sure the string is hanging out, and you're all set! You'll know it's in right if you can't feel it or can barely feel it. If it feels like something is irritating you down there, it's not in far enough.

Once you're used to putting it in, you'll do it while squatting over the toilet.

As to how ofen to change it, generally it works to change it anytime you go to the bathroom or every 4 hours or so. If you are worried, you can wear a pantyliner with it, one of those ultrathin little pads. After a few months, you'll have more of a feel for how heavy your flow is, how often you need to change things, and what size tampon you need.

Ok lately at the same time my period arrives i have been needing the toliet all the time not a wee but poo.All the time and it made me feel really weak yesterday! Is there something wrong with me?

It's normal to need to poo when your period starts. When the period first starts, your body releases a lot of prostoglandins, hormones that make the uturus contract to get things going, and these hormones also stimulate the intestines.

I have a Q about cafepress.com. I want to sell stuff off it, but ... it seems too good to be true! What's the catch? Should I sell stuff off of it?

I sell stuff through cafepress.com. It's a legit operation. You can open a free store (even several free stores) and sell your own designs. The nice things about it are that you don't have to keep a lot of inventory around (you don't have to have a basement full of t-shirts or whatever), you don't have to worry about handling money and credit cards, and you don't have to worry about getting your designs printed up. The drawbacks are that their base prices for some items are fairly high (although their buttons are a good deal) and that their graphics don't tend to display as well as one would like.

As Draak says, getting people to see your items is the tricky part. However, there are a few things you can do, like choosing good search terms and making a good description. That will help your stuff show up when people use the cafepress search engine. Also, cafepress items rank at the top in a google search. Another thing you can do is make a personal website to display your designs, with a link to your store in cafepress. Another thing - cafepress sends out newsletters with marketing ideas.

In the past two years of college I have switched my major twice (from B of Education to B of A History then to B of A Women's Studies). I don't even know why I'm in college! I am in debt with tuition (to the tune of $19000 or so) and I have NO plan. I started college through a local distance-learning program but there's not a lot of guidance involved in that, so I had no idea which courses I was allowed to take were "okay" for transfer to the universities. It turns out that just about none of them are, simply because I don't have a second language. I only learned this when I applied for transfer and was rejected. I have no idea what I'm going to do when September comes because I'm obviously not going to school, but I can't stay at home. I feel like a complete idiot and failure. I haven't even told my parents, they'd just say that they'd told me so.

They wouldn't have rejected you or your course work because you don't have a second language - it must be some other reason. For example, was your distance-learning program accredited? If not, the courses won't count towards a college degree in an accredited institution. If it is accredited, you might need to supply the universities with more information when you apply for a transfer. For example, send in course descriptions (provided by the distance-learning program) for every course you took. That will help the universities figure out what the courses are and how (and if) to credit them.

In the meantime, find a job (even a crummy job) to give yourself a little income, time away from home, and a chance to figure out where you want to go with your education.

My Fiancee ended our 3 1/2 year relationship a year ago. I just can't seem to stop thinking about him???? Especially on the weekends??? I wonder if he thinks about me??? When he ended the relationship, he told me he will always love me but we need to move on. I really don't go out!! I was alot to blame with the ending of my relationship, I have tryed to call him leave messeges, write him letters etc. and I haven't heard from him in a year!! Can you give me sme advice how to move on and im thinking I will never meet anyone again, I'm scared to be alone for the rest of my life.

Put this man behind you for good. Don't call him or write to him, because every time you do, you hurt yourself again. I know it will be hard at first, but resist the urge to try to keep contacting him. You will feel better about yourself if you stay away from him.

Turn your thoughts and attentions to nurturing yourself and doing things you enjoy doing, either by yourself or with friends. Go see movies, take bubble baths, learn new skills, make your home into a cozy nest and make yourself comfortable and happy. If you are happy with yourself, other people (including men) will be happy with you.

ok i have this friend and he is sort of like a pansy the flower...and a pansy in the other lanuage means something weird...well how to i tell him hes a pansy...and i dnt like gay homosexual friends because there always lookin at the gay men nxt to you rather then you. !!!please i need serious help with this one...

smooches and kisses

Barbra a.k.a burt

If you are interested in a sexual relationship with your friend, you might discuss his sexual preference with him. Otherwise, it shouldn't matter whether he's gay or not.

i have white filmy stuff that collect in my vulva. i don't know what it is. could it be the toilet paper? i have very good hygiene but even after 24 hours of my last shower there's white stuff. WHAT IS IT? HOW DO I PREVENT IT? HELP!!!!

It is normal for this stuff to accumulate in one's vulva; it's the female equivalent of smegma. Just wash it out frequently. The slang term for it is "cheese."

ok this is deff a question for the girls. its kinda stupid but wutever.. lets say your period starts on the 1st day of the month and lasts till like the 6th. the next month wuld your period most likely come towards the 1st or the 6th? thnx in advance

It will depend on the length of your cycle, which varies from one woman to another. In order to know the average length of your cycle, keep track of when your period starts every month. Write it down on a calendar. Then count the number of days from the start of one to the start of the next, and calculate the average. Remember that not all months have the same number of days. Also, some women are more regular than others. And, to make things even more complicated, women are affected by the women around them. Your periods will tend to synchronize with those of other women you spend a lot of time with.

OK, this may seem weird, but it's something that really scares me. Im really scared of being kidnapped. Now that it is summer, i really need to keep my window open, but what if someone cut the screen? If my parents are already in bed, I go around the house, checking to make sure every door is locked. I wanna stop being afraid. Am i being way too paranoid? HELP ME !!! I RATE HIGH

I highly recommend taking martial arts classes, especially tang soo do. Once you know how to defend yourself, you will feel much less fearful of kidnapping or any other kind of confrontational situation.

I grew up fighting, so I never had much fear for myself, but when I had children I was always scared about them being kidnapped! Now that they have taken a few years of martial arts and know how to defend themselves, I am not nearly as plagued with worry as I used to be.

Here's what you do in the short term, and this is going to sound weird, but two things that really scare attackers are noise and insanity. In the unlikely event that someone should enter your room, act crazy and make a lot of noise. By acting crazy, I mean SCREAM, a high-pitched, threatening-sounding, LOUD scream, and wet yourself. Growl and snarl and act as menacing as you can. Few attackers will hang around in the face of such behavior. The reason? Noise attracts unwanted attention. And crazy people are unpredictable and dangerous. Your attacker will go looking for an easier target.

ok.. this is really weird but i have started my peeriod and stuff but this is not about that it is about the discharge! i get like a cup of it a day and its soo gross! and i dont know what to do about it! it producess a nasty smell even if im closes to it!

what should i do??

If you are getting a bad-smelling discharge, you might have an infection. You should see a doctor immediately. (And you can get some kinds of infection even if you've never had sex.)

How do you cure bad breath? I brush my teeth twice a day, but I still have really bad breath!!!

Thx!!! I rate high

In addition to the answers you have already been given (flossing and tongue scraper), I would recommend Listerene.

And if, in spite of all these measures, bad breath continues to be a problem, consult your doctor. Sometimes bad breath is caused by metabolic problems.

okay so my friend is on birth control (actually my friend) last month about two weeks before she got her period she had some bleeding. i heard once that you can get pregnant on birth control but the pills will kill it. is that posibly what her bleeding was? im very interested because im planning on getting on birth control pills and i want to know about them

The Pill doesn't kill sperm, it keeps the woman from ovulating (producing an egg). It works because there is no egg for the sperm to fertilize.

Generally, if a woman has break-through bleeding while on the Pill, it means that she has skipped a day or two. Skipping days is also the main cause of failure of the Pill as a means of birth control. If you get on the Pill, you have to be absolutely rigourous about not missing any days.

When you go to your doctor about getting on the Pill, ask him or her all the questions you can think of. You might want to write them down so you won't forget any of them.

what does getting your cherry popped mean??

There's a membrane in the vagina called a hymen or maidenhead or cherry. It varies in size and thickness from one woman to another. This membrane is torn during the first sexual encounter if it hasn't already been torn earlier through other activities, such as vigorous physical exercise or putting in a tampon. "Getting your cherry popped" refers to tearing of the hymen during a woman's first sexual union, and thus means "losing your virginity."

I've been bleeding on and off for about 2 months...like I'll bleed for 2 weeks stop for a week bleed for another week stop for 3 days bleed again!...It's soo weird..I asked my mom and she said it might be stress cause my familys going though a hard time...but can it be something else like my cherry popping or something?? Oh and I've had my period for like 3 years so my periods been pretty regular well up until now that is.

13/f

This is a fairly common problem. It's called "break-through bleeding." It can be controlled with medication, so talk to your doctor about it.

I was a competative cheerleader for 5 years, but I was forced to quit in January 'cus my coach dropped me in tumbling and I broke my knee. Well, I just made my middle school squad and our camp is at the gym I used to cheer at and the coach that dropped me is coaching my squad the routine. The coach is real jerk and is constantly mean to me since we quit when he dropped me. How do I get thru the week with him goin out of his way to make me miserable? *Ill rate*

I am going to tell you what my son (who is 14) does in these situations, because his approach has worked very well for him over the past several years with conflicts with teachers. He started doing this in 5th grade.

My son's philosophy, in any conflict with any person, is to talk to that person first before involving other people (parents, principal etc.). He says that's the only fair thing to do. But it's HARD - you have to be brave to confront a teacher or coach who is acting like a jerk.

In your case, I would wait and see how the coach actually behaves...maybe he'll be okay. But if he starts picking on you, ask to speak to him privately. Then, without acting angry or defensive or scared (just quietly, person to person) talk to him about your concerns. Start your sentences with "I" rather than "You." (In other words, instead of saying, "You keep picking on me," say, "I feel singled out for criticism.") Now, it's possible that at this point the coach will get mad and yell at you no matter how diplomatically you approach him. (That has been my son's experience.) But that doesn't mean he didn't hear you. Just say, "Thank you for listening to me," and make your exit. My son says that the teacher's first reaction is often to get mad (but not always!) and that's the scariest part. But the next day, in every case, the teacher started treating him better. His conversations with his teachers have solved the problems 100% of the time - so far.

If the coach still treats you badly after this conversation, then you can go to your parents or a principal or camp director to intervene, but now you can tell them that you had a talk with the coach first. That will give your complaint more weight.

okay I have a cute little dog and she is a white pomeranian and is only 7 months old she goes out side and eats poop just three minutes ago she ate some and got some on her paws she is so decusting what do i do I have tooken her to the vet and asked if this was nornmal and they said no and gave me some medicine to put on it and it made the poop tast better right now she is getting on my nerves about this i just gave her a bath and she goes out and teats it and gets it stuck to her paws oh and last night she ate poop and a poiseness eggcorn and threw up on my bed I am sick and tired of her doing this freaking thing she does it every day and she eats at least 50,000 peices a week what is wrong with my dog is she retarded or is this normal because this is getting rediciolous and i am getting to the point of locking her up in a bed room or trading her in

Eating poop is normal for a dog. They like cat poop even more than they like their own. Carnivore poop has a lot of protein in it, and that's what the dogs like about it. Also, anything that smells horrible to a person smells like gourmet dining to a dog, so they will eat not only poop but also anything decaying and rotten they can find, and vomit - their own and anyone else's. Dealing with this is just part of owning a dog.

The best thing to do is scoop up and dispose of her poop as soon as she produces it, so she doesn't have the option of eating it.

So I am at school right now and I just found out people have been talking about me and my friend going out, but she is a girl. I am not bisexual nor am I a lesbian. People are starting rumors and they dont even know me. I am new at this school and I dont know how to cope with it. Lately everyone has been acting like they dont want me here. I've just came for advice on what I should do because right now no one will listen to me. I've tried about everything to just get friend, but I will never change who I am. I know my sexuality and I know I am straight. I wouldn't say I'm not something if I really was. I mean ever since someone started that rumor people will come up to me and ask me if I am a lesbian! It is irritating. Holyoke has been the worst ever since i moved here.Everyone who knows me is back in chicopee, and I just miss everything and the way things used to be.

Unfortunately, one of the favorite ways of insulting someone in middle school and high school is to call them gay or lesbian. (Imagine how bad gay and lesbian kids feel about that!) My son has had to endure a lot of that kind of thing, mostly from other boys. One of his responses has been, "I'm sorry, but I'm straight, so you're not really my type, but I'm sure that there are plenty of kids in this school who would be interested in you, so good luck and keep trying!" If the problem persists, he says, "You know, what you are doing constitutes sexual harrassment. How would you like the principal to tell your parents that you have been sexually harrassing other boys?"

ok i bought a siamese kitten and she keeps on crying all the time! The only time she does not cry is when i hold her she is 10 weeks old but she keeps me awake all night and now i feel so tired and i have not gone to school. How can i stop her crying???

In my experience, kittens do best in pairs. Get her another kitten, about the same size. They will keep each other occupied and there will be less pressure on you.
