I believe that you can increase the amount of hay/grazing time. Increase his grain. Try putting some oil on his feed. You'll have to have your vet recommend what kind of oil to put on the feed.
Also consider his age (not sure how old the horse is).

I agree with the person below. I'm not sure how old you are but if you have to convince your mom to get a puppy, then you haven't considered the costs of a puppy.
Unless your getting a G. Ret. puppy for free, you have to remember that they are an expensive breed and can run hundreds to thousands of dollars from a reputable breeder.
You have to consider that Golden Retrievers are notorious for having hip dysplasia/arthritis.
You have to consider puppy shots which is 4 injections of the Distemper/Parvo vaccine which are split up three weeks apart. Fecal exam, physical exam, Rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, MONTHLY FLEA AND HEARTWORM PREVENTION. *MONTHLY*
And this isn't including the spay/neuter surgery done around 6 months old.
AND they can have all sorts of issues. They can get diabetes, thyroid problems, cancer, hip problems, broken bones, obstructions, etc. It's really a lot to take on. And expensive.
Keep all of that in mind. I work in a vet's office and these these kinds of things happen daily. Especially with people that don't have the money for it. My office doesn't offer payment plans like other clinics because of the economy so you can't depend on that. Good luck.

I really hope you got your dog to the vet. I agree with the person below... would you have posted this question on here if it were your child? I sure hope not.
If you have a pet, always always always make sure you have a credit card with a large enough balance in case of emergencies or you have the funds readily available. You NEVER know what could happen.

After doing much research my husband and I bought a husky this past weekend. He is 13 weeks old and seemed to pick up using the puppy pads fairly quickly. His owner before him said that she put him in a crate when she was at work so about 8 hours. When my husband leaves for work he has to put Duke in his crate. But Duke just howls and howls. We've tried the water bottle trick, covering the crate, and leaving some music on for him but it doesn't seem to help. I'm moving there in 19 days(my husband is in the military so that's why we're apart) so it won't matter then because I'll be able to take care if him but we just need a temporary solution. We live in an apartment complex but we've talked to the neighbors about him already. We just want to comfort him as much as we can until I get there. Any suggestions on what to do would be helpful. Try taking him to a Dog Day Care until your there during the days. I'm sure its just a separation anxiety thing. Or just continue with the kenneling. My dog did the same thing when I first got him (he was 4 years old) and he did it so much he would just exhaust himself from howling. Finally, we got so tired of it that we let him sleep our beds.
P.S. I work at a vet's office. Make sure you get your Distemper/Parvo vaccines for the little guy! It's a series of 4 vaccines, 3 weeks apart. And he's also old enough for a rabies (get a 1-year because if you get a 3-year then you have to 'boost' it next year anyways). And if your wanting to take him to a groomer/boarder(kennel)/dog park I recommend the Kennel Cough/Bordetella vaccine.
MAKE SURE HE STAYS ON FLEA/HEARTWORM PREVENTION (unless you live in Arizona (they have the best of both worlds there)). :) Good luck with the puppy stage!! :)

Hi there.
I'm hoping someone has some ideas. My kitty is four years old, female, and spayed. She and I live alone, and if there's any kind of a sudden noise, or anything that might sound remotely like hissing, especially from outside, she's a big ball of poof.
These noises can be anything from the sound of rain to a car driving past our apartment. She's actually afraid of outside. I've never worried about her or put a collar on her because if you open a door that leads out of the apartment, she'll run the other direction.
If she was a human, I'd call it generalized anxiety disorder with agoraphobia. She's been like this since I adopted her as an 11-week old kitten. She's never been abused, or anything...
I don't like the idea of drugging my cat, but earlier she got startled and ran so hard into the other room that she stripped a layer off a couple of her back claws and they were sensitive when I touched them. I know it's normal for cats to shed claw layers as they grow new ones, but I'm worried she's going to hurt herself one of these times, and her little heart beats so fast when she's scared... I just want to help her. I know there's, like, cat Xanax, but even I don't want to take that, let alone give it to her. :(
Should I do something about this, or just accept her nervous temperament and give her lots of hugs? (link)

Try some supplements like Stress Away (I know it's used in dogs... not sure for cats). Or there's a Vetri-Science supplement called Composure. It's used for animals when fireworks/thunderstorms/etc goes off. Those are not prescriptions and can buy them OTC. I'm not sure if PetCo, PetSmart, or Pet Supermarkets carries it though. It's worth looking into.

Lately i have been stressed out on what career I want to be when I grow up, I am only a junior in high school. Sometimes I want to be a doctor, but in reality I only want to be a doctor because they look cool on television( grey's anatomy), so I can get attention for my elders, and it has a lot of money. At first everything was cool, in fact I was able to watch a surgeon perform surgery in person, but I did not feel anything- no true excitement or happiness. But now all of my elders( adults ) are saying I have a great personality to be a doctor, but what if I just do not want to be a doctor anymore, I only wanted to be one for the moment not for the long run ! In addition, I stressed out with school work. I totally burnt out, since the tenth grade so I have been having trouble with doing my work, I do not know what to do to boost myself up again. Lastly, I have been stressed out in French, even though I am one of the smartest ones there, so I dropped French for next year but I do not know if it was right to drop it. It is hard to deal with stress when you have no one you can talk about it with, someone who can be unbiased about these things. My mom would be biased, my sister wouldn't care, my dad is not easy to talk to, I do not have friends only associates so I am not comfortable to say anything, my french teacher is apathetic towards me--I am honestly lost, what can I do? Keep in mind that you have to have 2 years of a foreign language to go to a 4-year university.
I'm glad that your looking at your career now. I see that you like the Medical Field. What about RN? You can specialize in many different fields (Cardiac, OR, ICU, CVICU, Neonatal...etc). There's also Physical therapy, Sports Medicine, etc.
You have to figure out what YOU want to do. Not what everyone else wants you to do. What are you passionate about? What do you do in your free time?It's a lot to think about.

So me and this guy have been best friends for years and years and years. He's my rock. However, we've always felt extremely physically attracted to each other and recently weve started hooking up (not sex, everything but). I am NOT looking for a relationship and neither is he and we both made it clear that we did not like eachother or even wanted it be a "talking" (like pre-dating situation or dating without the title) none of that. (also, he didn't want anyone to know about us hooking up because he didnt want anyone else treating our relationship differently)z But I still wanted us to be friends and when we started hooking up he started getting a lot meaner. He's always teased me and his personality is not the kind to ever be serious or mushy but it felt different. Before when we hung out and he'd constantly make fun of me I liked it and it seemed harmless and funny. But now I can't even be around him without feeling awful about myself. He calls me stuff like worthless, helpless, stupid, and that's just not okay with me.
So that's when it started to go downhill. One of my friends found out we were hooking up and told all the rest of my friends (she saw my texts to him) so I was like well shit what am I gonna do so I just told them not to tell anyone. But he still found out they knew and he got so angry at me. I found out he had been showing his friends our conversations saying shit like "look how annoying she is, she acts like we're dating" WITHOUT telling them we hook up, making me look like some crazy desperate idiot. It was then that I told him how sick I was of how he treated me yadayadayada. I tried to tell him I didn't wanna hook up anymore but he convinced me it would work. And we worked it out. But then the next day he's like: "I changed my mind I don't wanna hook up anymore cause you told people about it" even though I explained to him what happened and he understood an we were fine about it? I was like wtf okay... And Idk why that pissed me off so much but it did. Cause then two days later he asks me to come over to "hang out" obvi we hooked up. But of course, when I asked him two nights ago he replied with a straight up "no." and then Didn't text me back te rest of te night.
I hate this. I just wanna be friends with him, hook up, and not feel any of this shit but I honestly feel like I've been dumped? I HATE looking stupid and I feel sooo stupid. It seems like he doesn't even wanna be around me... like he's embarrassed by me.. Even though when his friends found out what we do they were like damn that's impressive we never thought you'd get her. And he's gotten better about being nice but he still makes me feel pretty shitty sometimes. He found out I was considering hooking up with my ex and he called me a stupid slut. Like why am I still wasting my time with someone who makes me feel awful more than he makes me feel better? He says he cares about me but I know if I tell him I don't wanna talk to him anymore or anymore I feel like he won't even give two shits. And that would hurt most of all. You need to stop hooking up with him. And DON'T hook up with your ex either. Trust me, it won't work. I tried it with my ex SEVERAL times before I told him that I was done. This was after him treating me like shit and treated me like I was lower than the dirt on the ground.
Seriously, I'm surprised you lasted this long. He's not a friend if he's calling you names like that or treating you like that. So tell him that you're done, stop hooking up with him, and stop talking to him.
And don't hook up with your ex either.

I've been taking birth control for 6 months now, and this has never happened before. I missed a pill on the 3rd week of the active pills, i looked it up online and in the information packet the pharmacy gave me and it said to take the rest of the active pills and to NOT take the unactive (sugar) pills, it told me to use another form of protection for 7 days. it also said its likely i'd skip my period. The thing is, I've been dating my boyfriend for 9 months now, me and him have NEVER used protection, I had an abortion in January and it truly crushed us, especially him. I cant go through with this again.. we still dont use protection because i'm allergic to latex, but for those 7 days, we just chose to have him use the "pull-out" method. Is there anyway i'm pregnant ? i'm still on the third day of my inactive pills in the second pack, but my body doesnt feel like it usually does pre-period. Someone help pleaseeee! (link)

There are such things as NON-LATEX CONDOMS... go figure. And the 'PULL OUT' method DOESN'T work. There is such thing as PRECUM.
Google this stuff. Learn from your parents/friends/family members. Honestly, you should have learned this in middle school.
You're going to need to buy a pregnancy test just to make sure. But seriously, be smart next time. Whether your on birth control or not, you need to use a condom. Birth control is not 100% (obviously).

I have lost friendships because of this, I had two people I was previously friends with (not best friends, but we were all friends) and one had dated my ex (who I still had feelings for at the time and we were talking again) and now another one is currently dating him (we were talking and they were talking (which I didn't know at the time)).
So now, I'm no longer interested in my ex-boyfriend whatsoever because I don't dig sloppy seconds.
So same goes for you, can't believe your friend is doing that. Get better friends.

Hey well at school im preety likable by everyone. im a girl in the 8th grade and many say im really funny. im pratically the class clown for many of my classes.Its just that when it comes to guys that i like well...they just end up being my best guy friend and i dont mind but it gets annoying that i cant really find a boyfriend because they dont take me seriously. im starting highschool in a few months and i wanted to change for the best. I've worked at a restaurant for 18 months now. I have liked this guy,erik but i asked him out twice before and he made up excuses, so i gave up on him and stopped trying. the chefs (john and nick)know i like him and they all tell me he likes me too.they make jokes about us getting married, and its funny, and me and erik laugh about it seems to be flirty and make jokes ourselves but it just reminds me how much i like him and how i need to get over it.
last night i went out in the parking lot talking with john and nick and there was balloons all over my car. the balloons all had messy guy hand writing on them saying "i love you" "you complete me" "go out with me" "to ashley (me), love erik"... and i got so excited and happy. till the guys starting laughing, claiming that it wasnt them, but i know for a fact it was because john is religious and if you ask him to "swear to god"...he wont lie..and he wouldnt say it. i called erik double checking and he says he didnt do it.
i dont wanna tell the guys that i cried on the way home about it because i work with all guys and i dont want things between me and erik to be weird if he knows i got really upset about it.but it seriously got my hopes set so high then crashed down.i took it really personal. they play jokes on me all the time and i never do anything back. i know they care about me and they wouldnt do anything to hurt me.
i want to prank them back to let them know they can't mess with me like that anymore because i dont feel talking would help.

I would seran (sorry for the spelling, i have no idea how to spell it) their cars/trucks so they can't get in. Then get those car markers and write things on the windows.

Hello, I'm a VERY scared senior. I REALLY want to go to UCF,but I've been so very concerned that I may not get in. All of my friends,family members, guidance counselors and other adults are telling me that I'll most likely get in but I'm still nervous. My gpa is a 3.25 but weighted out it's probably around a 3.45 or 3.5 but my ACT scores are the issue. My ACT composite was only a 21,i retook the test and again got a 21, improving in some areas but staying the same or going down in others.I applied for the SUMMER 2011 session though and I already turned in my application. I have taken many honors courses, 1 AP course last year ( and passed the AP exam),and this year I'm taking AP Gov, AP economics, and AP enviro, Anatomy Physiology Honors,English IV honors, Marine Biology Honors,and Advanced Algebra w/ Financial Applications. SO i want that to look good. I've had mostly B's, many A's and a few C's on my transcript. But I took a few regular classes as well. I"m wondering whether I have a good chance of being accepted for the Summer session. Please help! i'm freaking out all day ,everyday about whether or not I'll be accepted or not. I turned in my application about 3 days ago! My best friend has a lower gpa then me ,yet has more Ap and honors classes but around the same weighted gpa as me and applied for Fall 2011 and got accepted (but she also got a 1200 on SAT) so I'm very worried about myself! Wow, you should be able to get in. Usually it's the college your applying for is the trouble.
And even if you don't get in, go to your local community college and get your General AA (the first two years of your Bachelor's Degree) and UCF has to accept you then.

I've known this kid since 5th grade and i used to have a huge crush on him. But now we're in 11th grade and we actually hang out, he lives a few blocks away and he walks to meet me all the time. I slept at my friends house one night and slept in his arms, I always sit on his lap even though theres an open seat next to us, and sometimes we'll hold hands across intersections (like we're 5 years old, but its cute :) lol) The night i fell asleep in his arms, we talked for 6 1/2 hours straight about anything, and we weren't even bored. Our conversations were always interesting, and we dont even have to be kissing or anything, we can just hang out, cause we havent even kissed yet.
He recently told one of my good friends that he likes me, and he wanted him to ask me if i liked him too. I do, kind of. But the only thing holding me back is one of my really good friends. She's dated him on and off for a few years and they finally officially broke up a month or two ago. She's really broken up about it and still really likes him, but he couldn't care less, cause that's just how he is (and i understand that cause im similar to him in that way). I feel really bad that he likes me, and i kinda like him back, because of my good friend. I dont want to hurt her feelings cause she's always sooo nice. But that's what he didnt like about her. She was too nice. I don't know what to do. I'm starting to really like him, and get over my ex boyfriend, but i just dont want to hurt my friend.

You need to ask your friend if you could date him.
One of my friends dated my ex and needless to say, we are no longer friends because he was going out on dates with her while me and him were talking about getting back together. I didn't like it so I stopped talking to both of them. And she didn't even ask if she could date him. The funny thing was, after about a week of them "dating" she said to everyone that she wanted to have sex with him. And that's when I knew that he was only after her for the sex because I never gave it to him. She gave up her virginity in about a week or so where I didn't even give mine up after 6-7 months of dating him. :D
Buaha, anyways. So if you want your friendship to still be good between you and your friend, you'll ask her if she minds you dating him. If she says no, then wait for her to get over him.
But, always remember the number one girl rule: A Friend Should Not Date a Friend's Ex. & if you do it behind her back, she'll hate you forever. Just like my friend did to me.

I don't know what to do with him! I found out from my bff that my bf made a facebook group thing about our relationshp. I went and red a few things on it and it is personal and nothing anybody should know but us so I told him I knew he had a secret he was keeping from me but not what it was so he would tell me or something but he didn't. i kinda thought that he posted stuff and didn't think it was bad and I wanted to give him chances to say so but he just said he didnt have no secrets so i went back to read the rest and he had made it private only so now it is hidden from me.
I guess what I am asking is if he didn't think this was wrong why did he hide it when i found out? He still denies everything and now i got no proof because i cant see it anymore!!! i have been crying about this and i feel betrayed like he has a secret life on facebook or something! should i stay with him if he isn't going to be honest and still hides things?

To be honest, I would tell him that you saw the whole things he wrote and that it's personal.
You can tell him that it's your way or the highway (I know, lame but true).
Just tell him that you don't appreciate that and you gave him the chance to confess but he chose not to... so I would give him one more time to tell the truth and if he doesn't... get rid of him. Obviously he doesn't care whether he posts those things on the internet for everyone to read and he doesn't care how you feel about it.
I know it sucks, but he's not worth it.

iv been with my boyfriend for almost two months and im starting to question if we should stay together. we are perfect other than at times he is veryyyy immature and he is younger than me and a mamas boy. he asks his mom everything even advice about us, laughs at words 3yo's do and carrys a big red bookbag n puts it between us in the car saying its a barrior for a flood, wouldnt even let me buy a new lighter bc his mom wouldnt approve. he goes out of his way to talk to my mom ALOT and i hate my mom... but hes so sweet and im starting to love him, but i did just get out of a few year long serious relationship, should i ride it out or try and move on? and whats some advice as to how i can fix how he does all that? Not only will you continue dating your boyfriend AND his mother, you'll be miserable because he doesn't have a mind of his own. He has to go to his mom about everything.
Like I said, I've dealt with this and never again.
& I let it go for so long that we had a nasty break up and it was all his mom...not him.
So, move on.

I'm 5'4" and I play Outside Hitter. I have a high reach though.. because I'm able to get kills and block, sometimes better than people a couple inches taller than me. I just moved to Dallas, Texas and I want to try out for 2 really good clubs, Skyline Juniors or Victory but after looking at how tall their Outside Hitters are (5'8"-6'0") I am scared! The other club I was in, in a different state, wasn't as competitive.. but I'm serious about playing volleyball and want to play better and participate in bigger tournaments, but.. I'm scared in advance about trying out.
Will they even bother to pay attention to me because I'm so short in the volleyball world? I love playing but I'm self conscious over my height a lot and constantly wish to grow taller. My parents are both over 5'8" and my sister is 6'0" so I don't get why I'm lacking. Hopefully I grow over the summer. Do you know anything I can do to grow taller? Stretches, certain foods, etc?
Should I just lower my expectations and pick a lesser club, or just give up volleyball cause I won't get anywhere in college unless I had a major growth spurt? I don't want to do that.. but. idk. The only disadvantage w/ my height is that it takes longer for me to reach over the net and reach the floor when I'm coming back down. And I have to exert more energy to get really high up. And if someone is like a lot taller than me and they're double blocking.. its gonna be hard for me to receive that. Or I'm gonna have to train like crazy to be able to.. then hopefully my vertical will increase. I don't know what it is btw
In my other school I played JV for Frosh & Soph year (I'm a Soph now, and just moved to a new school) and they made these twins captains of JV though I didn't think they really deserved it. I had much better hits than they did, since my Frosh year. But they had more consistency, so they'd like get more serves over that were usually easy to receive and my serves, though not really consistent, were usually kills. I had more experience playing volleyball compared to them too. I've been playing since 6th grade and they just started in 9th grade and in 9th grade they sucked. But they did club that year and got better.. and there were just so many other problems going on with that volleyball season it was redic. so anyways, that wasn't fair. Anyways, maybe it also mattered that they were taller than me. Like I'm gonna guess 5'8" to 5'9". They played MB and OH. Ugh but I would have been a better Captain cause I never give up during games and always try to motivate people and am nice to everyone. But blah. I dont want a similar situation here. The best player on the team who has leadership qualities should be the Team Captain right? (link)

If you've got the jump and reach to be a hitter, then go for it!
I played volleyball for years and I'm only 5'4. I was one of the shortest players on the team and played backrow and labero (sorry don't know how to spell it) haha.
So if you can dive and dig good, try doing back row. Honestly, I love back row. :)
So go for it and see what happens.
