i love to give advice, and i've been told that i give some good advice, aswell.
i'm very dedicated once i get involved in someone's problems, and i'll probably make sure you're okay, and that my answer has been sufficent.
i don't 'sugarcoat' my answers, as just about every columnist on this site complains about, but i do present everything in a way that people will be able to handle, and relate to in their situation.
i could honestly care less about ratings, i just wanna help some people out. in my problems, current and past, i seek help through my friends, who i adore.
i'm a huge my chemical romance fan, and i know pretty much everything about them; so if you have a question on them, i'm here. go for it. ;)

Alright. This gets a little complicated, but here it goes.
I have a myspace account and one day, randomly, i get a message saying that I look familiar, etc... to this guy. Come to find out that my ex boyfriends cousins-fiance is this guys best friend. (you still with me?) I've been talking with him for the past 6 months or so. Messaging back and forth. He's planning on coming by me in a few months, then a friend and i are planning on going by him next year and then a month later he'll be back here again. i feel differently when i talk to him. i mean, it's a great different. he's totally different, meaning, that he's definitely Not like any of my ex's (which is definitely a good thing), he cares for me (he said it himself), and I was told by his best friend that whenever i'm brought up in conversations, he gets all flaberghasted and even starts stuttering when they talk about me. i think i'm actually starting to fall for this guy. now, my question is, am i stupid to think something could happen? i was never one to do the whole 'long distance relationship' but i actually want to. should i try or am i just
setting myself up for the biggest fall?

well, are you sure he's the real thing?? I'm not sure if you two have actually met, because I didnt' quite understand the whole thing, but make sure you're very cautious. If you two ever try to meet -this probably sounds lame, but-have your parents go with you. Maybe go for dinner with them or something.. then they can see he's the real deal. And it wouldn't matter if they see him for only a few minutes or something, because he could instantly surn into something else..
But if you're sure he's real.. you could have real feelings for him, and it could be a good thing.
I'm not sure how you'd be able to handle the long distance thing but you might be able to make it work if you're really dedicated.

14/f. SORRY THIS IS SO LONG!
Well the thing is, I used to REALLY like a guy named David. But now, I'm starting to realize that I probably don't have a chance as I have already asked him. So in a form, I guess I've given up.
I went to Homecoming and danced with a boy named Josh who is wicked nice and cute. So I was like 'wow, I really like him!' but since he is new at our school, he wants to stay single, but I was a definite possibility later in the school year. I was alright with this and then went and was having a lot of fun with David and my other friend Kaylin.
At the end of the dance, I hugged David goodbye because he really cheered me up after Josh said he didn't want to go out with anyone at the time. And apparently he was going to ask me to dance because I wanted to dance with him. David was also acting very awkward at the dance when I was talking about Josh.
So - I'm confused as to whether David likes me? I'm also confused as to whether I still have feelings for David, even though I'm 100% sure I like Josh.

well this david guy sounds really awesome. Maybe just keep josh as an option, since he's new he may really want to see whats ou there in your school. obviously dave is there for you, so just try to stay close to him and be a good friend. dont' concentrate too much on getting a boyfriend or anything, just let things fall into place.

just try wearing something that looks very simple and professional, and pearls. Also, try both straightning your hair, and if needed, you can both temorarly dye your hair blonde, they should sell the hair dye at a party city, or sallys near you. good luck. =)

I met this boy and I really like him. Sometimes when I talk to him he seems really interested and other times he doesn't. It's like hot and cold and I don't know what to do. Should I ask him if he likes me? or should I just let him tell me eventually in his own time if he does? (link)

I'd say to take your time, and just try to be a good friend to him. Eventually he'll realize he likes you. Just let things fall in place and go along with the flow. =)

well, I'm not sure how much luck you'll have on getting your rents to let your guy friends sleep over, or getting their parents to say yes, but you could always agree that the guys would sleep in a different room or something, or maybe you could all camp out in the back yard or something.
That, or the guys could leave later in the night and the girls could stay over. That may be your best bet, cause most parents (of the guys and girls) probably wouldn't like that it's a guy and gal sleepover. lol
Games.. spin the bottle is obvious, also truth or dare is a great, other obvious one.

the blue one is absolutely gorgeous. I'd reccomend that one, cause it's simple but you'll also get alot of attention for it. Also, you can do both up and down hairstyles.

um is it harmful that i accidently swalloed a couple of my rubberbands for my braces..?
i keep forgetting to take them out when i eat,
so then late i notice one side of my mouth doesnt have it..
and then the other does, so i assume i ate it.

it's fine to swallow a few, just remember to take them out. that could hurt your digestion, so yea, just try not to make a habit, as everyone else has said.
Just try to bring a bag to meals so you'll remember that you have to put them in there.

Ok so here's the thing I have a lot of acne. I tried everything proactive clearisil but it just won't work my mom doesn't want to buy me any expensive products. So I get teased in school. Any ideas?. Also I get teased because I have big lips. Any help?ideas? (link)

I'd say to see a dermatologist. Either that, or ask for good reccomendations from your friends. Just remember, that everyone's skin type is different. Also, try using a light weight, low oil cover up. There's nothing really to do with your lips. I'd say to wear a lipstick/gloss that might lighten them.
Just remember, everyone's different, and maybe it's time to embrace your features. =)

Hey, i've been with my boyfriend for one year and things have been great except for the past month. I'm planning on telling him that i want to try and take a break bcause things haven't been going so well...today i was going to break the news to him but i think he knew it was coming and got very, very upset. He said that I was the one thing he likes in his life right now and that if i wasnt with him he doesn't know what he would do with himself becaus he's so upset with everything in his life. I feel so guilty trying to end things, but i just feel like things arne't working right now..What should i do? I don't wanna make him so upset, im worried about him. (link)

i agree with the first answer. Just try to talk over whatever's been wrong, and see if you can fix it. If he refuses to listen or something, then maybe you should break it off. Just give him another shot after talking,.

During my period, and sometimes like a day or two before it starts, my acne gets worse. Why does this happen because after my period is over my acne goes away. What can I do to prevent it? (link)

this probably happens because your hormones are acting up then. there's not really much to do to prevent it, just to wash your face regurlaly and to eat healthy.

ok im 13 and cacussion(dont think i spelled that right),and my boyfriend derrick is 14 and african american.ok my dad is so raciest and my mom isnt.like i had to tell my boyfriend that i wasnt alowed to date.so when we hold hands or something we have to stop so my dad dose not see.i babysitt his little sister and we like watch movies while his sisster is asleep and we hold hands an sit close but if i hear my dad coming we have to seperate really fast!!!im getting really tiered of it and its pissing me off.breaking up with him is not an option so what do i do??? I think you should talk to your dad privatly, or even write a note for him to read so he'll have no choice but to listen to what you're saying. Explain to him that the world has changed, and the person you're dating is actually a good person, cause obviously you really like him. Explain to your dad that your beliefs are different and that you really like him, and for your dad to at least give him a try. Then maybe get your mom to talk to your dad, too.

so my teeth are not yellow... they are clear.
it is so wierd but my teeth are clearish, especially at the end of my teeth. i know why my teeth are clear [i used to be bullimic, but i have been cured for 2 years now] what i don't know is how to fix it.
im 15, so hardcore dentistry is out of the question. is there anything i can do that i can do myself?

well, your teeth are yellow for an obvious reason, because of the acid, but I'd reccoment whitening strips or maybe switch to a toothpaste that is meant to whiten you teeth
also,t here are creams and solutions you can put on your teeth, check out a local drug store for somethign like that.

ok so saturday at our choir carwash i got sunburned. i was outside from 1 to 4 and when i got home i had a burn on my shoulders, my neck, and my neckline from my tank top. i aslo have a burn from right above my knees to my ankle on the back side of my leg. I dont really care that i have the burn because its my fault for not wearing any sunscreen but i was wondering how long sunburns usually last, because i havent had one in a couple of years. so how soon or how long do sunburns usually last, id say its a mild sunburn, ive had worse, but ive had better too. thanks! It should last about a week or two. Some even go away quicker. There's an aloe vera gel you can put on it, too, to make it go down quicker.

I just broke up with my boyfriend the other night( a day before our 6 months). The only reason I did it was becasue he caught me at a really bad time and said something that made me mad. I told him if he cant give me the answers I need then its over. I regret it big time. He then called me later that night and we talked about it. He said that he'll always be here for me when I need him and we will still talk. He also said that we should just take a break and thats what right now is. Another thing he said is that he has never loved/liked anyone the way or as much as he loved me. What does all this mean? Does it mean that there is a chance I will be getting back with him? (link)

From the things he said, it sounds like you do still have a chance. Just try to talk to him, be there for him, and let him be there for you. Don't try to advance on him or anything, but if you think the time is right, write a note or something saying that you think you two should get back together.

I'm a teenage girl. I'm single, and a virgin. (and sick of it) For the past five years of my life I have wanted to commit suicide because I have recently discovered that there is no point in living.
I'm very overweight and I'm ugly. The one boy who has ever loved me was a liar and he had a mental problem. (not being sarcastic) I have no friends and I really want to die. I've been working as a stage actress for a while but I realized I have no talent at all.
My point is: No one loves me and no one ever will. I can't live any longer without being loved. What should I do? How can I survive without love?
Everyone treats me like I'm seven years old. I look a lot older than my age and most people ask me if I'm in college. I hate my life so much. Oh, and I do masturbate regularly so don't say that I should try that. It's not a substitute for a partner or for real love. Also: all of my peers have boyfriends. So I'm the only one who's single and a loner.
By the way, no one ever listens to me when I talk so that's another reason why I want to kill myself.

okay.. please first off, know there are people who care about you. you may not see it, but there are. realize this, you're a teenager. you're most likely just going through natural changes, and being fat or anything can be worked with. in fact.. some of the most stylish people i know are overweight.
please, just know life DOES have meaning, and everyone goes through something when they're kids/teenagers. heck, things may even feel worse for a while, btu do you really want to give up? things WILL get older as you age, belive me. And having a boyfriend isn't everything. I can pretty much guarentee you'll have one.

There's this song called "Simple Gifts" that I will have to sing solo soon. I am a saprano but it's hard for me, though i've sang this way for years. I am more comfortable in alto. I can't switch because my teacher says if I expand my range now I will become an excellent singer someday. When I sing the song the high notes seem to be too high for me. Can somebody here please help me find a way to hit higher notes better? (link)

my voice was always pretty low, but recently it's gone up.
ALWAYS warm up before singing. Sing the scale too, and make it higher and higher as you go up ((change the tone each time)) and see how many times you can go up.
Also, make sure you open your mouth verrryy wide, it lets out more sound, which makes your notes higher.

Okay i'm in highschool and my mom is finally letting me wear gothic/punk rock clothing. I've got my wardrobe but my room is the opposite. How can i make it more gothic or punk rock WITHOUT painting my walls or buying anything too expensive.
I have sort of very light baby colored pink wall. I have rough creme curtains. My furniture is medium brown wood. Tomorrow I'm going to remove all my colorful objects but what else can I do? The only dark comforter I have is a plain dark green comforter. Do you think that will do?

like the others have said, I would say to add a bunch of posters. you can usually buy them out of band magazines, or things like k mart. Drawings are also very good. Hang anything up that helps holding memories, pictures of your friends, ect.
The bed spread should also be good. =)
Just remember, you dont' have to do the stereotypical punk room, make it interesting and unique!!
