Gothic/punk rock room
Okay i'm in highschool and my mom is finally letting me wear gothic/punk rock clothing. I've got my wardrobe but my room is the opposite. How can i make it more gothic or punk rock WITHOUT painting my walls or buying anything too expensive.
I have sort of very light baby colored pink wall. I have rough creme curtains. My furniture is medium brown wood. Tomorrow I'm going to remove all my colorful objects but what else can I do? The only dark comforter I have is a plain dark green comforter. Do you think that will do?

it seems like you're trying too hard too seem "punk". i'm into that music and style and everything, but i still like bright colors and stuff. i mean, i just painted my room yellow lol. i dont think you should paint your walls because you might get sick of it and be stuck with it. what i'm doind is making a collage of all bands and stuff and hanging it up. you could try that, or get a bunch of posters. i'm not sure how much they would cost, but you can try newburry comics.

To tell you the god awful honest truth - I wouldn't do anything that you personally don't like. Especially if changing your room means defacing your walls. My youngest sister has written all over her walls with permanent marker, painted her floor (first purple, then added yellow polka dots, and then tried to cover it with lime green) - her room looks like a disaster area.
Posters, magazine cut outs, and your own art (I took an art class my sophomore year in high school, and I put stuff from that class on my walls) pictures of your friends and possibly even the little booklets that come with cds look wonderful against walls.
One of my best friend's walls are hot pink, and she adds little things she collects from local concerts and random stuff she finds from when we hang out or she hangs out with other friends.
Her brother's room is dark purple (he's a HIM fan) and he's got a half a skateboard nailed to his wall, as well as a ton of skateboard-oriented stickers. Across one wall he has "YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING TO HELL" in spraypaint, and I think "CKY" done with black tape. And possibly a heartagram.
The tape will take the paint off your walls if you try to remove it - and your mother might not like the spray paint!

like the others have said, I would say to add a bunch of posters. you can usually buy them out of band magazines, or things like k mart. Drawings are also very good. Hang anything up that helps holding memories, pictures of your friends, ect.
The bed spread should also be good. =)
Just remember, you dont' have to do the stereotypical punk room, make it interesting and unique!!

My room is covered in pictures/posters of my favorite bands and singers. I also wrote quotes on index cards, and those are everywhere. I have punk/scene fashion clippings on my walls too. I have light gray curtains, but you can use black/dark gray. I don't really know what else you can do to your room. But your comforter will work.

Buy posters, that's all I can say. My room is... I don't even know how to describe it. My claim to fame is my posters. :]
I have white walls, but they're not visible.
And I like my room dark, so I have black curtains.
