I went vegan this year and have lost 40 pounds, with minimal exercise, and eating AS MUCH as I desire bringing down my BMI from 30 to 24. I weigh less now than I did throughout high school, as an overweight teenager, even when I exercised for hours while on Junior Varsity and Varsity sports teams. I went to my annual physical earlier this month, and even my doctor was in shock.
My goal for next year is to lose 30-40 more pounds, I just need to start exercising on a regular basis. Nothing crazy, just 30-60 minutes of jogging, Ballet Beautiful, bike riding.. things like that.
I think it's amazing what I've accomplished so far, just by changing my diet, though. It's a lot easier to go vegan than it seems. I was never vegetarian, I went from being able to eat an entire box of pizza or entire tub of ice cream in one sitting to a full-fledged vegan. I now spend a lot less money on groceries, have more energy (never need caffeine, and never feel lethargic like I used to on a regular basis), have more concentration, am learning to cook, and etc. Try it for a week, that's how I started, and I felt so good that I just kept going, and it's now been 5 months! You can get every nutrient from plant foods, including protein!
The only vitamin you need to supplement is B12, and one I personally recommend is Garden of Life's B12 spray (cause I personally hate swallowing pills, and methylcobalamin is better than cyanocobalamin). You can buy it at any health foods store (Whole Foods, Sprouts, Trader Joe's, etc.), or online.

What I will tell you is with your exercise plan you will be gaining muscle weight and muscle weight weighs more than body fat. Whenever you start and exercise plan there are two very important things one needs to do and one optional thing
1. a complete physical by your doctor to insure your a physically healthy and you can exercise without harming yourself. Tell your doctor what you wish to achieve in the exercise program so the doctor can decide how to monitor your progress.
2. Find a fitness instructor or if still in school a physical education teacher to give you a workout routine. You need a proper routine to obtain your goals. As I said the routine you are doing now will more than likely put weight on you though it will be good weight as it will be muscle weight. which may not be what you want.
3. A proper diet when exercising is also important. A fitness counselor may also be able to help in this area or you can meet with a nutritionist.
Most important is to see your doctor first and foremost question to ask is; What is a proper weight for you at your age and height. Then build your goals from there.
One last thing. Is you are in the 12 to 14 year age bracket a weight and growth spurt would be normal. Do not be concerned with this as things will average out in a bit as you go further into puberty. Be less concerned with your weight for to is far better to be 10 pounds overweight then 10 pounds underweight. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]
missundersmock answered Friday November 27 2015, 2:06 am: ok heres the problem with that your asking. We dont know how old you are or what health issues you might have, medications you might be taking, or how fast your metabolism is, which all could have an effect on how quickly you gain and lose weight.
The basic bottom lines that i can say here are cut the junk food, cut that artificial stuff, any kind of soda (yes even diet) and start slowly changing your eating habits so that you naturally start to gravitate towards healthier food over time. try replacing just one or two meals a week with a salad or something healthy, then bump that up slowly. Start eating slower, so that your body has time to adjust to all the food your eating and your brain has time to say "im full now. lets stop here" even if it means NOT having desert. ; )
over time this ALONE will help with weight loss just by itself in addition to what your already doing. and lastly try to start your day out with some protein like sausages or some kind of meat so that you can think clearer for the day ahead and focus better. i do all these and its amazing the baby weight ive lost.
