Pook answered Monday January 26 2015, 3:17 pm: Track your calories. First figure out what you should be eating for your size and activity level using the Harris Benedict equation: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Once you have done that, aim to eat MORE than the daily recommended amount, to gain weight. You can eat about 250-500 calories a day extra. If you go to gym and train with weights you will add on muscle (mostly). If you don't do any strength training you will add on fat. [ Pook's advice column | Ask Pook A Question ]
missundersmock answered Sunday January 25 2015, 9:21 pm: maybe go to a weight lifting store where they sell all sorts of vitamins and ask if they carry weight gainers??
They help you to "fill out" more so you dont look real skinny.
I definitely agree with making sure its ok with a doctor though. but if youve already spoken with one about your weight then i dont see any reason why not. Just do your research first and talk to the person in the store and ask the if its right for you. [ missundersmock's advice column | Ask missundersmock A Question ]

The most likely answer will be that you will need to see your doctor. Most people have a problem losing weight because they overeat. There is a small percentage of people who can eat like a horse and never gain a pound. This has very much to do with how they metabolize the food they eat.
If you are grossly underweight then you need to speak with your doctor and most likely a specialist who deals with the metabolism to help you gain weight. Though if your are in all other ways healthy and your doctor is not concerned then I would listen to your doctor.
