I have these marks on my thighs. They're right where my private part is (Tmi, I know haha sorry). There's about 4 on my left thigh and 3 on my right. At first I thought they were stretch marks, but they're red/pink. They're not bruises or cuts, because they don't hurt. When I touch them, I just feel the mark where it's at. What is this? I'm starting to freak out a little bit. That's the only place where these marks are. Also, I'm a female if it matters.
Additional info, added Friday August 1 2014, 3:00 am: Also, I am 14. I really hope this is just because I'm still growing or something >.< How can I get rid of this? I honestly feel embarrased because I think they're stretch marks. I'm at a normal weight, though. . Want to answer more questions in the Miscellaneous category? Most likely they are from the changes your body is going through as you go through puberty, lose your baby fat and redefine your body into that of a young lady. This would all be normal.
They could also be chafe marks from your underwear. Here again your body is changing and you may need to get better fitting panties. As you go through the day if your active you sweat and if your panties are tight at the leg hole you will chafe. This would leave marks as you describe. The fix for this would be a shopping trip for new panties. I would avoid panties with elastic around the leg hole and look for a pantie with a fixed opening.
As with the rest of the advisors I don't think this is anything serious and it has nothing to do with sex. Meaning if your concerned at all about this you can discuss it with mom as it is a non sexual problem. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]
Tigz285 answered Saturday August 2 2014, 7:49 am: They are most likely stretch marks. It's common for teen girls to get stretch marks. Some places you may notice stretch marks are on your breasts, thighs, hips and bottom. They are usually a purple or red colour when they first appear which gradually turn to a more silvery-white colour over time. Stretch marks happen when the skin is pulled by rapid growth or stretching. It can be caused from several things such as: weight gain (this can often be from natural weight gain during puberty), pregnancy, muscle gain and growth/height gain. Stretch marks may fade away eventually but you can't completely get rid of them. To help with the appearance of stretch marks, keep the skin moisturized. Some people recommend using coco butter, aloe vera or vitamin E oil. [ Tigz285's advice column | Ask Tigz285 A Question ]
sizzlinmandolin answered Friday August 1 2014, 8:12 pm: They sound like stretch marks. I have them too. I've never been even close to overweight and I used to be really embarrassed by them. I thought they'd go away, but they haven't. I've come to terms with it over time, but what helps is that they are really far up on my legs, like yours sound like they are. This helps because the only time anybody is really going have a chance to seem them is if you're in a swimsuit. And girl, the last thing anybody's going to be looking at when you're in a swimsuit is your stretchmarks, right? :) This is a very, very common thing for women to have and nothing to be ashamed of. Stand proud in your body and if anybody ever says anything about it, tell them off! People just aren't used to seeing what a real human body looks like anymore and that's really unfortunate. Good luck. [ sizzlinmandolin's advice column | Ask sizzlinmandolin A Question ]
talldivaofbeverlyhillz answered Friday August 1 2014, 12:57 pm: Oh those are either stretch marks that you get when you lose or gain weight and they are suuuuper normal and don't have to do with whether you are under or overweight. But they most likely are just chafe marks. Your inner thighs can chafe from rubbing your legs together while walking- especially when you get sweaty. I would recommend rash cream and baby powder to prevent these marks. Also try wearing pants instead of shorts to prevent chafing. Don't worry though I have stretch and chafe marks too almost everyone does.
-good luck!

soph0900 answered Friday August 1 2014, 12:08 pm: They probably are stretch marks.
But thats alright because girls at your age (including me) can often get them because their thighs and hips are changing rapidly with puberty.
They'll fade away eventually, but there are creams and oils you can buy at the pharmacist to help.
Its fine, really. Girls have bigger thighs and wider hips. Just how it is.
The muscles and fat often gather around there too- girls ussually need strong legs ect for child-bearing and stuff. Its all natures way.
