It's a personal choice to whether someone decides to shave their vaginal area or not. Some women do and some don't.
I believe it's more of a comfort and hygienic reason for most, but it's entirely up too you.

There are just as many girls who shave their "bikini area" as those who don't. And there are just as many guys who don't care if that area is shaved as those who do care. It's completely your decision. Whatever you feel more comfortable with. If you get hooked up with a guy who would rather you did shave down there, and won't have sex with you until you do, that guy is a loser, and not worth your time. You do what you want, it's yours.

I would trim if your hair bothers you, though as others have pointed out, it's not entirely necessary.
The reason I would trim is because shaving can cause uncomfortable skin irritations as well as leave you more vulnerable to viral infections.

This question falls in the category of personal desire and satisfaction. There is no must do about it.
Some women shave for personal hygiene reasons, others do so because their husbands or boyfriends have asked them too. Most women trim their pubic hair to fit beneath their bathing suits. It is really a question of personal desire.
As for men. The feeling to day is that they would like their women to have a pubic bush and some even want a full pubic area of hair. Some though ask that their girlfriend or wife shave just their vagina for obvious reasons.
My personal opinion is I prefer a woman have a pubic bush and it does not bother me if she does not shave at all. To me a woman with no hair, especially young women look even younger when nude if they shave and look even younger and child like.
When I make love I make love to women not children. I desire my wife, previously my girlfriend not to shave. When we first met she shaved I asked her to stop. She was very relieved to not have to shave anymore.
In the end though the choice to shave or not to shave is a personal choice, not a requirement of any kind.

Every women grows pubic hair.
Most women I know certainly trim it, either with scissors or razors, it only for their own comfort. Many women do shave or wax all if it, or most of it, off.
There is no 'supposed too'. There is only what makes you comfortable and happy.
