Is there such thing as a dual steamer and regular vacuum cleaner?

Question Posted Wednesday December 11 2013, 1:29 am

20/f

My mom wants me to help her buy a vacuum cleaner that vacuums dirt and dust AND can also steam and clean carpet. She says that her friend has one but I have been searching for one and I can't find one anywhere. Is there really a "two-in-one" vacuum cleaner that can steam and just vacuum? And if so, where can I get one and which model is the best?

The object of your Mom's desire is probably the Oreck VersaVac! It sells for $212.99 on Oreck's website. Happy Mother's Day!

Not really. Steam cleaners have a vacuum built in but it's meant for sucking up the dirty water, so it's very small. Sometimes it's larger, but typically impractical to use as a vacuum. You really should buy 2 separate ones.
