Guys tend to like gifts that are practical - something that they can use. Does he wear hats? Does he have a nice pair of headphones/ear buds? If you can't think of anything, he'd probably like a pocket knife.

I agree with the DIY part or customize something.
A friend of mine got her guy customized drumsticks with his name on it and stuff.
I once customized a key chain for my boyfriend with his favorite lyrics on it. I put it in a box with a lot of colorful notes, each note had a word on it or something i like about him. He loved it.

How about sending him something you DIY, say a cute card, or a coupon book.You can include coupons for free massage from you, for listening to him whenever he needs, and also for your free companion, etc. It's quite sweet.
