I have a sleeping problem

Question Posted Friday November 2 2012, 9:49 pm

I'm a 21 gay male. I've been in a relationship for over 2 years now. I use to sleep perfect with my partner. Now he has a new job where he works away a lot, when I get to see and sleep with him.. I'm always moving and touching him.. But not knowing I'm really doing it ( if that makes sense). Like I move to where I wake up several times in the night. When I sleep alone, I don't sleep good or don't sleep at all. What could my problem be??

Your problem is called being in a long term relationship ;)

Everyone who shares a bed with someone for a long period of time experiences this. I know I do. It's weird how I can sleep perfectly fine with an elbow in my back, but the moment I've got the whole bed to myself it's insomnia city.

Something that helped me with that was getting a body pillow. If my husband is gone, I sleep curled around that. Even better is a dog or cat... they make excellent snuggle buddies!

Eventually you'll get used to sleeping without him sometimes. You just have to find your own groove.

Mmm I think it's a form of attachment. Like you get use to something, and than you are forced to have to kind of change how it is. Pretty much your subconscious effects your sleeping patterns so when your partner is gone it messes with it. I have the same issue with the guy I've been seeing. (I don't sleep unless I at least get a call from him goodnight).
