The best way to prevent pregnancy other then abstinence is to be on a good form of birth control. Condoms which the boy should wear in any cast as they do protect against some but not all STDs, are only 85% effective in preventing pregnancy. Then only if the boy is wearing the condom correctly.
If you are over 14 a law called HIPPA allows you to seek medical treatment for reproductive medical treatment and advice without parental consent or knowledge. Treatment and any advice sought from the doctor is confidential and can be told to no one without your written consent. So if you want birth control you can ask your doctor for it. Also mom may no longer be in an examining room with you without your consent.
