What is your opinion on age gaps? I'm talking 16 and 21.. is it wrong? is it okay if you've known them for a long. Is it okay to be friends with people that much older than you. I'm 16 f and hes 21 m. im worried even being friends makes him look like a bad guy.

As Roseyapple said, here in the UK this would be legal and does happen, although it isn't the norm. It is generally considered to be somewhat odd for an adult to want to be in a relationship with a child. You may well be mature for your age, but at 16 you are unlikely to have the same motives and priorities as someone of 21. It wouldn't surprise me if your friends and family viewed the relationship with suspicion.

There is a 5 year age difference between the two of you. You are under the age of consent in most states. It matters not if you two are in a sexual relationship. Statutory rape has nothing to do with rape or sex and everything to do with the difference in age and you being under the age of consent.
Then there is the fact that he is 21 a grown adult. You may not be truly a child though in the eyes of the law you are. In the eyes of the law a 21 year old in a relation ship with a 16 year old they will question if he could be a child predator.
Your relationship at this time places him at great legal risk, something he should be very aware of. If for any reason the law questions your relationship he faces the possibility of spending most of the rest of his adult life in prison.
If you were 21 and he 26 no one would question your relationship. This is not a good relationship for you to be in. I'm surprised that if your parents know about this relationship they are allowing it to continue. There are all sorts of alarm bells going off in my head right now. It has happened with me so many times where an older male friend of mine has become something more one way or another, I am not saying it will happen it just seems to be the case sometimes and that is when people will judge.
As age gaps go it isn't that much, but I remember when I was 17 and my male friend was 24 my parents weren't too happy about it and I was accused of all sorts and my parents aren't even religious. I just found it unfair.
