I'm 16/f and one of my closest friends is 21/m. We've known each other since O ctober, and we have instantly become great friends. Seriously, we do everything together and i would trust him with anything etc. There's very few people i actually trust.
Everyone jokes about me a him being together and how he's in love with me, how we're sleeping together and all that - even though we're not. All this started about a month and a half ago and i thought everyone would have dropped it by now! But they've just got worse.
One of our mutual friends said to me that Jack genuinely does like me and whenever anyone jokes about him liking me he always goes 'yeah but i actually do though' and asks if its wrong. Well this guy who told me was pretty convincing and i dont think he would be saying it to wind me up. He also told me yesterday that Jack's convinced himself off the idea because of the age gap.
If anything was to happen between us, do you think the age gap matters? My parents know and like him so that's not the problem, most of my friends know him and get on with him, i'm just not sure id want anything more with him because of how it would make him look!

Someonewhoneedsaboost answered Tuesday March 13 2012, 12:39 am: Hmmm... Well 16 with a 21 year old is like a 20 with a 25 year old. It's a normal age gap. However it's like me ,(19), being with a 14 year old. Little weird.. Not because the age difference more so it's the maturity level. Sorry kid I can't see myself kissing, loving, and whatever else with a 14 year old. Love is love I know but love can wait. Not to mention it's illegal for anyone over the age of 18 to associate in a relationship with someone underage (well at least I think that's right..'least for Texas) So think twice because IF you two really do like one another ya'll can wait 4 years and have an excellent friendship and by then you will be "of age" and all will be good! :) [ Someonewhoneedsaboost's advice column | Ask Someonewhoneedsaboost A Question ]
