Facebook Question: facebook won't let me log into my account without a mobile number and verification code
Question Posted Wednesday February 29 2012, 6:02 pm
So yeah, facebook won't let me log into my account. They are trying to make me enter a mobile number to get a verification code.... The problem is I don't have a mobile phone nor do I want to buy one so facebook can sell the number to third party sources.... How can I get around the securiy check? Thanks for the help, in advance. BTW I need this info ASAP so I can delete the account.

You could ask a friend to use their phone.
I've found that if you put a number on an account under that prompt then delete the number, wait a week, it sometimes lets you use the number again for another account.
I don't know if I can really help. I have another mobile phone I haven't activated, I could give you that number but I just moved and I will have to search through my things so let me know for a last resort. I'm willing to help. [ parsimoniousdino's advice column | Ask parsimoniousdino A Question ]

I would advise that you hit the "Forgot Password" during the loge in and go through the security settings where you can enter your email, facebook page name and enlist 2 friends that are currently on your facebook. After you successfully answer the security questions facebook will send you an email with a password reset code. Do not enter your mobile number because like you said it can get out to third party resources. Also, With today's privacy concerns I trust no one.....Not even facebook.
