How Do Anorexics Do It?

Question Posted Sunday February 26 2012, 7:53 pm

I have no interest in becoming anorexic but seriously, how do they eat so little for so long!? I went 2 days without eating because, well I forgot lol. Anyway, I eat so much, like a LOT!!! I couldn't imagine ever not eating for so long! Are anorexics really that determined? Thanks! :D

Ya we are very serious. It's not that we don't eat at all it's that we eat very little when by our selves.for example I wake up before my mom every day even over the summer I tell her I eat but I don't. At lunch I have a bowl of cereal and a smoothie. I go to late night classes and fall asleep before ,y mom can give me any food. And I do that every day. I know it's wrong nut it feels like the right thing to do and I just wear baggy clothes.

They are not determined.

They are mentally ill.

The person who wraps his house entirely in tinfoil isn't determined - he's nuts. The person who eats 5 grapes and a 1 inch cube of cheese everyday is not determined - they've lost it.

It's AMAZING the shit you can pull off, when you stop worrying about reality.

On the physical side - your body gives up on giving you hunger pains at some point, and you become accustomed to feeling weak and faint. Being deeply sick becomes a persons' new normal, and they don't necessarily remember what it was like to not be anorexic. Compound that with the irrational thinking that fuels an eating disorder, and it's not so much about how they manage it, but why they can't stop it.

I just wanted to point out too you, That if you weren't thinking about becoming one then you wouldn't be here asking......

Anorexia is a mental illness, It is not something we can just decide to do. Also, While starving yourself is not healthy it can come with serious consequences.

Infertility, Hair loss, Organ failure, tooth decay, irregular heat beat and even death

If you want to loose weight, Do it the healthy way by watching what you eat and exercising. We just recently had a question about someone asking if they were bulimic or not and it seriously amazes me just how lazy an un-knowledgeable some people are. There is NO easy way to loose weight! Anorexia won't do it and neither will Bulimia. Going a day or two not eating can actually cause reverse effect of making you gain weight from being malnourished. Seriously, Get off the couch and exercise.

It's a illness that makes them think that eating is a bad thing to do. they look in the mirror and no matter how skinny they are they see someone like peter griffen. for example only.
Somtimes it can get really really bad!
