How To Stop Treating Parents Badly?

Question Posted Monday February 13 2012, 2:26 pm

My friend treats her parents badly. She wants me to help her, but I don't know how. She treats them badly because of the things they do. Please help!

P.S. She doesn't hit them

To really give you any help we need more information then just treating them badly. One can be abusive to their parents without hitting them.

Just in case we are talking about elder abuse the following URL will help you find a hotline for elder abuse in your state: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location). These hot-lines are available 24/7 for help.

If you do write back please include her parents ages, best guess is okay and your friends age as well. Also some specifics as to what she does to treat them badly. Then we can try and give you some specific help.

A good way to calm down is counting backwards from 10 while taking deep breaths in between. Talking problems out solve a situation better than ignoring the facts. It sounds like she blows up easily maybe she should talk to her parents about what is bothering her so they can understand why she is getting upset so easily.

Okay, well tell her to stay clam when they yell at her or something tell her that maybe they were right and if they weren't just grit your teeth and listen..

Me and my parent's don't get along that great either... but i try to listen and accept the fact that maybe they are right in some cases.

Tell her that maybe they can all sit down together and watch a movie or eat a nice meal, and just get some tension outta the way..

I hope this helps,
If you ever need anything.. You know where to find me(:
