i'm in 8th grade and have depression. the faculty said i couldn\'t go to school anymore bcuz they can\'t deal with me because i\'m too depressed to function. and if i killed myself, it would b bad on their record. at my school theres alot of kids with depression. it makes no sense. they hav a no child left behind policy and i feel they left a student behind. i don't know wat to do.
Your job is to get your depression under control. I have a suspicion your depression may be more of the manic type of depression. Not a big deal, your doctors just have to find the right medications for you. You need to be compliant in taking the medications even when you feel good.
I know the medications make you feel like your walking around in a fog or zombie like but you have to take them anyway. Tell the doctors how they make you feel and they will work to adjust them so you feel more normal when taking them.
A good friend of mine suffers form manic depression. It took awhile to get her medications properly adjusted but now that they are you would never know she suffers for any type of depression. In fact she is a Nurse at the local Veterans Hospital, a psychiatric nurse at that.
So let mom and dad fight with the school. You work with your doctors to fight for yourself and to get better. You will get better if you work with your doctors and take your medications. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]

If you can't keep yourself calm in class, ask to go to the bathroom. You can feel however you want, but at school, you need to pretend you're okay if your school isn't willing to work with you.
In middle school I got sent to the office for cuts on my wrists, making myself puke in the girls' bathroom, piercing my own ear, and in high school for burning myself at school.
It's easier if no one at school knows. If they aren't going to help, it's best that they don't know. Get help from your parents and family and friends. Just keep the school out of it.
Do your best, head up, and someday it will get better. Or at least more manageable.
